Not surprised Microtech hasn’t made an effort to take care of you based on their legendary frugalness. Lord knows you deserve it as your reviews on their products is outstanding.
Just got 2 days ago and firing my first CT (Gen III) as I watch this, frackin love this knife. Up till now I’ve had Ultratechs (and UTX-85s), Guardian Tactical Scout, Kershaw Livewires and the Maxace Neptune…nothing I’ve handled touches this beast. So sweet!
I was heavy into collecting years ago, have had plenty of MTs and I must say the modern ones are outstanding. I have had more than one older ultratechs pop the spring on me but the new ones are fantastic. I have a regular size troodon and its exquisite.
I’ve amassed a big collection from many auto makers. Microtech is awesome. Deadlocks are great, but my gen 2 CT is king for me. It’s sick. The new gen 3 CT is sweet, but has less power. Unlike others I have no issue deploying the gen 2. The new ludt’s are outstanding. And less cost!
Is there any talk of the Hell Hound blade making a return!?!?! I am dying for a Combat Troodon with a friggin Hell Hound blade!!!! I couldn't afford one in the past and I want my chance to have one now!
Idk man, my Fav so far is Hera ii, but my Brachial i’ve been carrying since monday is F’ing Amazing. The ONLY thing i do not like about the Troodon is the slant at the top, same reason i don’t like the Spyderco bodacious, it is straight across. And for me it just bugs me. Shaman is my Favorite spyderco.
Sweet design but I still think their blades are too small compared to the handle size. Maxace Neptune shows that you can get a much bigger blade in a body that size. Cheers!
Combat troodon and hawk deadlock are close. Deadlock is solid but gen 3 has much nicer action. Hera 2 could also be in the conversation but combat troodon gen 3 is my favorite otf.
Do you honestly believe microtech is gonna lower prices... there is a reason they are cheaper! I'm not impressed with the new weak firing system. And I got a new one that was self dulling from the factory! F&F went down ALOT!
Microtech has good looking designs, but as far as function and reliability for a OTF Guardian Tactical is better. The only real hard use knife they make worth its salt is the Socom elite manual and even then that can be questionable.
@@tims_always_fishing7117I have 2 it’s a cool knife but not a hard use folder. Cold steel has better options, and way cheaper. Just speaking from experiences.
Although I wouldn't ever do it but they have hammered these things through 2x4s and they come out working fine. They have a lifetime warranty. I'm not saying that it will never misfire or anything like that but these knives are made to use and I can't speak on guardian tactical because due to the fact they are some of the ugliest knives I've ever seen I probably will never own one. Might seem petty on my part but idgaf If its the toughest knife ever made in all the multiverse if its that ugly they can keep it. GT will never be MT no matter how hard they try. Which currently isn't very hard imo.

Love your Microtech reviews. Epic! Thanks so much for all these.
Glad you like them!

@@edged_mindset aaand when I finished your video I ordered another from the hollow grind 🤦♂️😂
@FuzzyMutt76 🤣🤣🤣 Did you use my code for 10% off?
@ I did, and used it…enabler 😉
@FuzzyMutt76 🤣

I’m currently waiting for one to be delivered. Should be here by Monday. I’m now super excited, After watching this.
👊
Which model?
@@edged_mindset came today. Very nice
@@tims_always_fishing7117 the normal black handle version gen 3. Sort of wish I got the outbreak version, though not complaining.
I love the gen 3 troodon with that badass easy firing button, thanks for showing!
👊
I need to add one to my collection.
I'm thinking of the Cypher. Love a wharnclif
It’s awesome. Slicy. I honestly can’t think of how I’d improve it except better heat treat. Not that I’ve noticed on mine.
I’m partial to the Scarab myself. But the CT is one of the best without a doubt. Definitely can’t wait to see Warhounds and Hellhounds in this Gen.
👊
I’m a hellhound blade guy. I’m looking forward to trying the new action on the new knives.
Was lucky enough to score a CT Hellhound last week 😎… sweet knife
I own 2 gen 3s now. Black tanto and the Damascus coppermai interceptor. Hands down my fav otf.
So nice
I’m partial to the Scarab but the CT is awesome close second. Hope you’re doing well bro!
How does this compare to the guardian tactical recon-040?
My first microtech OTF was the Glykon almost a week into its release. Then i got an ultratech and subsequently a combat troodon 3 and cypher 2
Nice!
Since theres 4 of them in the thumbnail I'm gonna guess it's not just hype
I want the black de version and the bloody green is cool also.

Not sure. I think the hell series was Sean's doing and I believe he has left the company
@@edged_mindset NOOOOOOOO😫😫😫
@ammohoarder I could always be wrong!
Heretic Cleric 2 is my favorite otf so far. I was married with mine in my pocket.
Design wise I agree with you. Function and reliability I have to go with Axial.
Great vid homie!
I think it's the best otf design aswell..
It was my 1st otf...👊
My favorite OTF is the desert knifeworks sandshark
That one is truly bad ass
thing was a beast
New ones are great. I got hera 2 cuz of coffin shaped handle
I always looked at microtech as gas station tacticool knives....then I bought an ultratech. Now I can't stop buying their knives.
😀

My 2nd favorite is the Glykon...
Hellrazor Frag Friday?
How about Dirac Delta?
Love the dirac delta! Not as much style though
The new gen Combat Troodon is by far the best otf design.
100%
Why a Combat Troodon and not a Scarab 3?
I love them both, the new gen 3 CT's are a better value though
I personally like the scarab 2 gen 3 and the glykon the best
🔥
Sweet design but I still think their blades are too small compared to the handle size. Maxace Neptune shows that you can get a much bigger blade in a body that size. Cheers!
You definitely can. I think the issue is that at a certain point a longer blade comes at the cost of tang length

totally agree
@@edged_mindset Hawk recommends you not put oil in the deadlock, what's that about?
That Hellraiser is one of the ugliest high end knives I have ever seen.
🤣 You don't like baby puke green?
