Personally in your Case I would build up the older 690. KTMs Quality has gone down in the last 10 years. A mate had a 2016 690 smc when I still had my 2009 690 smc active. The suspension of the newer bike was lower quality and performance. I also dont know if a dirt application is the right Place for a DBW throttle. If you consider buying a new one have a deep look on one and compare the parts to your old 690. Even the quality of the competition dirtbikes has gone down in recent years. I think my current 2017 exc 300 (bought new 8 years ago) is build in better quality than the 2024 exc 300 of an enduro mate. Kymco Cylinder etc Quality wise 2012 was the best year ktm year in my opinion.
@@traxx2k722 suspensions will be rebuild anyway, I'm more into newer engine because of the balance shaft, more power and generally just a fresh engine plus I want to start with all fresh bike, don't have to be brand new 24 one just the new platform let's say 2020, would probably do a similar setup I did on the t7. However I agree with your pint on the quality, even yamaha went down on it by quiet a lot. I will probably sale the race T7, then get the newer 690 build and only then sake this one unless my wife wants it as it will be all nice and sorted by then.
when i run tubes off road i always put Fugit in the tube (liquid tyre sealant), good for thorns etc.

I had a 2019+ 690 and I really missed the torque down low for such a big single. I might also have prefered the older bike. It also sounded better.
