I would love to live in NWA. But my job as a sheet metal worker/metal fabricator pays substantially less there than it does here in OKC. So finding work for me and my wife is the only set back.
Holy moly, $1400 for a 1,700sq/ft house?! I paid that for a 500sq/ft 1 bedroom apartment that was technically the basement of a house, and that was a deal! This town looks fantastic, if my company goes full-time work-from-home, I might have to take a closer look...
If things go well I'll make the move to NWA in 2022, will you be doing pro & con videos for smaller towns like Pea Ridge, Eureka Springs, Holiday Island & Berryville? And besides walmart and killing chikens what types of job can I expect out there?
We actually looking to possibly move to NWA from Hawai’i through a program we found, live works here. Originally, the move was supposed to be from Hawai’i to North Carolina. At this point, I could do either or but personally, myself NC for me mainly because the fishing is much more of an abundance over there, however, there is a particular fish that I saw that resides there, but I haven’t been able to pinpoint if I would be able to catch them in the NWA, the alligator gar that is. From what I’ve read about them, in Arkansas they’re mainly more down south and in the Arkansas river which if I’m not mistaken is right below northwest Arkansas. The only places I’ve been able to find that they might possibly be in is beaver lake, which looks to be the biggest lake/body of water (correct me if I wrong) you guys have in NWA? Would you or any body you know, know anything of gar fishing (particularly alligator gar) in Northwest Arkansas? Being that there doesn’t seem to have as much fishing spots as North Carolina, from rivers, to lakes to the very ocean itself, that alligator gar is probably the one fish I would most want to try my hand at! I also read up on the paddlefish but it’s the gar I’m looking for. Thank you for time and I look forward to hearing from you.
Well, I’ll say yes, I’ve actually caught a lot of gar in NWA. Typically, they’ve been a bye product of jug fishing, but I will keep them. However, I’m not sure if any of them are alligator gar, I just don’t remember super well and don’t want to say anything that’s not accurate. In the southern region of Arkansas, you can catch tons of alligator gar. They actually taste really good, very underrated.
Not sure about Gar in Beaver Lake but they were/are in Grand Lake in Grove, Ok about an hour drive from Bentonville. Also have quite a few nearby lakes and rivers. If enjoying nature whilst living the"city" life is your thing, NWA is the place to be!
Just spent four days there mountain biking, and was duly impressed with nearly everything about the place (Arkansas, who'da thunk?). Bui that beer / Sunday thing implies...well, ridiculousness.
You can buy alchohol on Sunday in Springdale AR; Avoca, AR and Jane, MO all in the NWA area. You can get beer, wine and hard liquor at the Walmart in Jane. MO.

Exactly. I don't even go to Bentonville anymore because I find it so sickening. I know people that were priced out of their homes, lost their family farm, and had a subdivision built on it because of the gentrification.
I moved in the area from out of state. I figured the drivers would be a little more patient, and intelligent given the "country" area as opposed to where I am from.. I was wrong, these are the worst drivers I have ever had the displeasure of sharing the road with.
