- Today I am doing something that is long overdue. Today I will finally finish Shadow the Hedgehog. Due to my original game in 2005 always freezing on the last mission, I never truly beat the game. Now I have the chance to finish it!

You wanna know that sad thing about this game? This was my first home console Sonic game as a kid. Not even lying. I always played Rush and New Super Mario Bros on my DS at the time so this was a major eye opener. I fully remember going as far as asking my dad why Shadow shot Sonic in the intro! XD

He didn't really shoot him, he just beaten him up to the point of exhaustion, that's what blood loss does but that's because of Black Doom, you'll know his father tempts him and want him to destroy and kill through out the entire game as Dark Route is technically canon, Eggman says during the fight of Devil Doom that he lied about making him and is literally being honest as he's steps before succumbing to the gas that spreads.
You could do worse, my first 3d sonic was forces. (My first sonic was sonic 1 and it was the first game i ever played)

I personally love Shadow The Hedgehog. It never was that bad like everyone makes it out to be.
It was actually just as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's just something you happened to like. But I mean just the concept of the game is bad. There's no getting around it. But it worked. So it's not that bad in that sense.
Agreed, truly bad games are ones like super man 64 and big rigs over the road racing. And don't get me started on ride to hell retribution.
Shadow the hedgehog is just a subpar game but it still functions completely fine and it can be fun, the only thing is the amount of times you have to play through it to
100% it.

@@MadSociety-uy6zg RoL is in my opinion by far the worst sonic game ever made, at least 06 had a certain charm with it's buggyness, RoL didn't even feel, sound or play what so ever like a sonic game.

When he "goes high" you can't hit him. The eye's invincible when he does that because it is leaving that socket. The eye stays invincible until the transfer sequence is fully complete that is why Shadow is not targeting the eye when you have the battle under Chaos Control.
best way to do it is to do Chaos control hit the eye, Cancel Control and then do it again once it reaches the other face.
I used to wonder why they would put the truth so late in the final boss even as a kid because I was able to figure it out immediately after making the first hit and beat this boss very quickly. Now I know why they thought it was okay to do so.
I was only ten when I fought this boss for the first time so don't remember how long it took but I know it wasn't hard. And when I do it today I can beat it in a minute and 30 seconds.

And you just perfectly timed that part (0:01-0:13) I mentioned, to where you pressed start on the main menu and it goes into that options music. Chilling af to this day. I also have this game for PS2, never finished it, I rage quitted. Back then as a kid I just treated like a GTA game and was messing around in it a lot. But it really was a bad game. I did enjoy playing the multiplayer mode a bit. lol
Fun fact: if you stay in the final boss for 8 mins or more, Eggman reveals that one of his robots saved Shadow after sa2, which means that this is the real Shadow, not a copy!

This was my first sonic game
Not gonna lie, still love the game, its not a good sonic game but if it wasn't sonic related at all it be a decent game, and I personally liked the story even if it was edge as hell
It was mine too but I didn't have the copy at the time and as someone who's explored every area, stood around for as long as possible and finished the game, I know guns do not affect the story, are in cutscenes or forced onto the player especially as you can use melee weapons too so that's why Shadow The Hedgehog is good and fun.
I need to stop sipping on my drink because this video is making me laugh so hard. XD

Eggman was so shocked he tore a rift in the space time continuum, and therefore causing the end of the universe. The end.
People never understand this aspect. It's not that the final ending means all the stories up until now don't matter. It's that ALL the stories up to this point DO matter. They're each segments of the truth mixed with lies. The final story is the result of the culmination of the truths from each branching story.
But Sam, that’s how the game ended. Major cliffhanger with Eggman just as shook as everyone 😏

Bought Sonic Heroes for PS2...learned my lesson and bought Shadow for Gamecube :P
From what I understand, "Goodbye forever, Shadow The Hedgehog" is supposed to both symbolize Shadow putting his past behind him and moving on(for real this time), as well as reference the iconic "Sayonara, Shadow The Hedgehog" line from SA2.
The reason shadow was inmmune to black dooms control and paralysis is bc he himself has black dooms blood in him

I used to have Shadow the Hedgehog on PS2 but 7 or 8 years later in 2012 or 13 I sold my PS2 copy and got the game again on GameCube for really cheap, like 10 US dollars or something like that.

You know what I think what should have happened, through the whole game you choose which path you want to go on, so for emeralds, you choose to give it to Sonic and friends , to Black Doom, or keep them. But since this Shadow the Hedgehog, Shadow has his moment
I think that this game’s definition of paralysis is more in line with Pokemon’s: muscles tensing to the point where movement is impossible

I honestly never thought this game was that bad. Of course I thought the 50 story concept was a bad idea but other than that I never saw any other problems.
I've got the same problem as you with Sonic and the secret rings, I could never beat the final boss because my game was freeze when I entered the final boss
I remember thinking that shadow was an android when I was little
you can only shot the eye once before it switches you are supost to charge shot the eye to maximize dmg the airboost is also a homing attack to it go towards the debris
so sam kept getting the alternate ending where black doom paralyses eggman and the game ends.

The reason why your not hitting his eye most of the time is when you hit it at least once while in chaos control it goes into the animation of him switching to the other head, shadow has no targeting on the eye during the animation, plus the fact you were in chaos control which slows down the animation process. It’s still a pain in the butt, but canceling the chaos control and using it after his initial animation then using chaos control again would have made this easier for you. Still shadow doesn’t want to target anything you want to aim at most of the time. Also quick note, I just realized that it’s the same as the sonic heroes boss with just the blue sky and clouds recolored to be red.... because this is sonic heroes? XD
Sam I love your channel, but I feel like you are being a little too critical with this game. I personally really like it and Im glad it has a big storyline, even if it can be a little ridiculous at times lol. This story is deeper than anything post-Unleashed, so this game will always have a soft spot for me.
Honestly, I love this game too, but its story and even some of the gameplay deserves all the criticism it gets.
Unleashed story may have been shallow but at least most of it made sense.

Even as someone who'll love this game forever, I must concur this boss can be annoying. It took me a lot of tries to get used to how it works.
Black doom did create part of Shadow, Gerald took a blood sample from him to complete him.
Also at the start of the battle Eggman said that they escaped from the comet 😂 I'm playing this game since one month and seeing your video doesn't make me want to finish it
I see why you don’t play the other stories in shadow the hedgehog on camera. They are repetitive and doesn’t matter to the final story.
You should check out pariahs video on the story because it shows what the original intent the story likely was as he covers the Japanese script
