When he said, "goodbye Shadow the Hedgehog," he meant goodbye to the old Shadow, there's now a new one and he can start his life over with a clean slate.

Finale was the best part of the game. Lots of people bash the game (understandably) but I really did love the final story.

When you think about it, even though the Sonic franchise always puts on a happy tone, Shadow has a really sad life. Seeing Maria die right in front of him, sacrificing himself to save the world, losing his memory and then having to relive the pain of losing Maria again, doubting himself, thinking he's evil and so many other things. You never realise just how sad it is because of the happy and bright tone they put on the games and TV shows, but.....damn

When he said "Good bye forever Shadow the Hedgehog." I always assumed it was SEGA trying to tell the player that Shadow was finally done looking for answers to his past, since he spent about 3 games looking for it. Shadow was probably saying that he is moving forward with his life. I liked when you sang with Never Turn Back.
What other games was he looking for his past?
Heroes and Battle, I think.

I just love how they're still giving you tutorials about basic mechanics like the homing attack in the very last level of the game.
When I was a little girl, I called the Black Comet a giant meatball. I watched my brother played this game and I was yelling, DESTROY THE GIANT MEATBALL! Haha, good times. :3

Chucking Reaper how can you be the real shadow, if he literally fell off the ark into earth.
Devil Doom Eggman admits in the final fight if you listen. He claims that he finds Shadow and took him into his care. Due to the impact on Earth, Shadow lost his memory. This leads to the Sonic game where Shadow has to fight Metal Sonic as a distraction. He says goodbye to his past in the last part. That's why he joons G.U.N. instead of being pissed off. If you play the game, he gets flashbacks of the fall to Earth in one of his storylines.

This game is the last of the (sonic adventure series) if you ask me. It's the last game to feature that kinda crude artwork, yet makes the game run smooth. with it's epic 360 degree angle ((with the option to back track might I add)). also this was one of the last problem solvers in the sonic game history. all games nowadays are just "Get through the level as fast as you can".
also let us appreciate how old sonic games In the "Sonic adventure" style format. ((Like this game)) are filled with drama, and have an epic story and twists. you have to appreciate Shadow the hedgehog for this aspect. it truly delivers a diverse storyline and makes the gamer keep playing to find out just "what shadow the hedgehog is". despite a few bad voice acting moments, I loved this game. Shadow is such a good anti-hero character. not soo much as evil, or short tempered as most anti heroes are.
I truly will miss "THIS" shadow the hedgehog. Sega has all but abandoned this version of him. he is just not a short tempered, evil rival character. which sucks, because what everyone loved about shadow was his personality. he had the BEST personality and originality of all the sonic characters.

When Gerald said about developping a way to use the power the black arms wanted to use againts them and Eggman said "That's it! It's brilliant!"... Was that a hint for Sonic Unleashed? Because theoreticly in the opening CGI of Sonic Unleashed, Eggman planned it all out to use the power of the emeralds from Super Sonic to break up the planet and unleash Dark Gaia. Anybody else think the same?

I think Shadow the Hedgehog is a decent game and I know it's not the perfect Sonic game.
He says "goodbye forever" As a way of AGAIN saying that he's moving on. I feel like if they would have taken all the other parts where he says he's putting the past behind him, and just saying that at the end instead, it would have been better.

What I think Shadow meant by "goodbye Shadow the hedgehog" is that he is done with his past as he said in the cutscenes prior to before the battle with black doom. This is supported by the end theme that played just listen to the lyrics... It's all about moving forward without any bares holding you back.

One of my favorite Sonic games next to Heroes & SA2. It appealed to me in a really unique way (the darkness/evil aspect with what story you wanted to tell, had somewhat funny cutscenes in a cheesy way, how Sega approached it and it caught a lot of fans off guard with the “edginess” factor). Lastly, this game in particular has a lot sentimental value for me going back to my childhood, it let me really enjoy one of Sega’s most beloved characters in Shadow the Hedgehog during some dark times on my life. I get the repetition frustration & slippery controls causes for complaints... but I will always love and enjoy this game.

i love how good some of the graphics on some of the cut scenes are like when when shadow was on the motorcycle and stuff looked amazing for a gamecube game.

Why did people like him, again?
He did get better as he went on--or that's what I started hearing from him.
In sonic adventure two, he was this cool cocky badass that was more edgy than Sonic. He wasnt an emo, actually the opposite in Sa2. He did everything he did out of emotional pain.
No one likes him NOW, but his debut was his prime. These are just a few examples...
AlySonikku Unleashed was his last game, and I still don't think he really improved much. He's not the worst voice actor Sonic has ever had (Jaleel White takes that cake), but he's no Ryan Drummond or Roger Craig Smith.

Roger Craig smith is 10x worse as sonic. Every line he says is cringeworthy.
Even if this game is pretty old and its quality hasn't held up, it's still one of my favorite Sonic games. I understand why I'm in the minority though. There's a lot wrong with it. I just really love Shadow and exploring him so indepthly was SO much fun.

Shadow looks his absolute best in his Own game I mean the Graphics for 2 battles were ok but this was the best you were able to have sonic with you on certain missions and he was very helpful. I also love how Super Shadows looks in this game and how you can Do Chaos Control Or Chaos Blast in the midst of battle and when your Super !!!
What? Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes all have better graphics than this game!

***** Do you know what graphics are? Well I'll tell you what they are to me... Graphics are the appearance of a game, what the game looks like... The textures, the models, the lighting, the effects.... Those are graphics. How the game renders the lighting by performing radiosity calculations or how it interacts with the kernel of a system when reading from binary space partitioning files *isn't* graphics. Well that's how I see things anyway... Shadow and Heroes may have similar ways of working but do they look the same? Hahahaha damn no.

They should have made this game like the game InFamous (InFamous is only on Playstation) where Shadow forged his own path. That way you wouldn't need to replay missions over and over again. And in the end, Shadow decides if he saves the world or destroys it. Now THAT would have made this game a whole lot better because it takes away from the repetitiveness and adds stuff you can only see if you make certain decisions in the game. I would love to see those outcomes where Shadow becomes a savior or destroyer of Earth. AND the outline of the story shows your different outcomes. Maybe you have a lot more different decisions in the first level so it doesn't get too repetitive.

There's something not right about that mission I tell ya! I don't know what I did wrong, but as soon as I found one of those dead drop things.. it wouldn't let me interact with it..
