Awesome catch Moo, that was exciting to watch. Super choppy, but you did well without seasickness medication. You and TLA made surf 🌊 launching look easy. Way to go buddy !!! Love the salmon jump in slow mo 😀
Awesome! Nice fight too! Fighting the fish, the swells, the wind, the lack of Dramamine and not having all your equipment! The fish is a nice trophy for conquering all THAT!!! Great job!

Awesome video Moo. I felt like I was fighting that salmon with you. I know what it’s like fishing while seasick. It’s worth it though. Great to have friends around to help out too. Awesome!!!
Thanks. I need you to make more salmon video so I can learn from the Master 😉. Yeah Butts fights are pretty textbook but Chromes are adventure everytime 😜.
hi moo moo! (wow great fish!) i want to recommend ginger. many times natural remedies are really just placebo medicine, but ginger has solid evidence that its effective for motion sickness. it works for me. i make a quart of strong ginger tea by simply slicing up about 3 ounces (a lot) of fresh ginger and boil/simmer it for 30 minutes in about 5 quarts of water, add honey and enjoy. as anti motion sickness medicine, i start drinking it the night before and keep going though out the fishing day. i went out on a nice charter for salmon just the other day and the guy right next to me had a little lock n lock filled with chunks of raw ginger that he would chew and suck on piece after piece all day. neither of us had the slightest motion sickness but both have had bad experiences in the past.
Thank you very much for the info. The other viewer recommended Candied Ginger and I have read that ginger works for sea sickness. I'll definitely try both candied ginger and ginger tea. 👍😀👍
@@limirl That's too bad it didn't work for you. I read that it works for some but doesn't work for everyone. Kind of like Dramamine works for me but Meclizine doesn't. I really hope ginger works for me. I do hate the drowsiness I get from dramamine.
Thanks. The swells were not high but very frequent that made the water very bumpy. It wasn't too bad if you know what you are doing. Thanks for tuning in. ☺👍

Thank you ☺. Yes you are right. It's not the best and it could have more flex to it. This is actually bottom jigging rod but also a "do it all" rod for a lot of kayak anglers. We typically don't bring multiple rods in the ocean, especially when we are surf launching, because chance of flipping the kayak is great during launching and landing. So rather than bringing multiple rods, we bring "do it all" rod because in many cases we switch our target species and we bounce ball for halibuts or bottom jigging for lingcod. I feel that this rod has enough flex to fight a salmon and I have been successfully. One major problem with salmon trolling rod is they are a little too long for the kayak. 7 feet is the sweet spot for kayak I think, but salmon rods are typically 8.5 feet and makes it harder to net the fish. So there us upside and downside on both rods. I kind of make up for it by topshotting with 10 feet of mono instead of flouro. That way I have way more stretch on the line.
