I remember watching his debut on tv, at Unforgiven that pop was insane! Raven deserved so so much more, personally I think he should have been the “stalker” for that angle with The Undertaker in 2001, just imagine how good that could have been for the promos alone🤯
I know you probably reading a lot of thank you, in your comments. But Raven was one of my favorite all-time wrestler to watch. And I thank you a lot for taking your time to do this small tribute to Raven.
I think he had about as good a run as possible in WCW. He was brought in as a big deal. They allowed him to cut promos. He was the leader of his own stable. He had the US Title and was a mid to upper midcard guy, which is about where he belonged. But I think he could’ve had a good feud with a guy like Sting or Savage.
I stopped following wrestling a long time ago, but watching your vids on wrestlers from the past reminds me of my childhood when my dad and I watched wrestling together regularly. Anyways, thank you for your hard work. Cheers.
I wished raven won at WrestleMania but he lost his only WrestleMania he became a 4 time world heavyweight champion 🏆 they dropped the ball 🏈 when it came to raven he was a successful talent but WWE didn't utilise his full potential with a better push
Final Part! I was looking forward to part 4. The NWA/TNA career of Raven. When he had a match with Shane Douglas who threw up during it or when he jobbed out to Jeff Jarrett or when he made a stable named after brain fluid (serotonin)
Great quote at the end. That was from a promo in WCW. He had the BEST promos and vignettes during his flock days in WCW. If wrestling had a promo school they would watch his promos from that time period. Untouchable
Raven in my humble opinion was a FANASTIC character. His skills if you know of his earlier incarnations was spectacular and he adjusted his skills to fit the Character..BRILLIANT.
@@dontdoittoyoself6786 Nah, TNA or WWE should have been the best for him. He made a TNA locker room of a bunch of unknowns, Jeff Jarrett and an up and coming AJ Styles into a competitor to WWE over the course of about a year and a half until they could afford other talent like Sabu etc
I'm actually working on a fantasy booking angle centered around a proper Raven/Taker feud where Raven plays mind games, forms a new pseudo-Flock and reignites a rebirth of the Deadman persona. WWE completely wasted such a golden opportunity to build him into a star. Props on all 3 videos btw, love your content!
It's extraordinarily sad to me that Paul Heyman was the only one to realize that, with Scott Levy, you had a performer that, character and storyline-wise, could do **anything** that was asked of him and make it believable.
Raven would have been an incredible asset to any brand that he was chosen to be on. He had the ability to bring instant credibility to the hardcore division, as shown with his matches at wrestlemania X7, throughout his ECW tenure, and even in WCW with the Raven's rules gimmick. It is a shame that his WWE career ended the way that it did, as he had a truly creative mind that could have been fully utilized beyond his in ring days.
SuperPikachu Jexs Done right, it should’ve been Austin/Rock/Angle/Foley vs Sting/Goldberg/DDP/Flair And Shawn Michaels/Triple H/Gunn or Road Dogg/X-Pac vs Hogan/Hall/Nash/Syxx with the story being that Waltman is a wildcard. WWF didnt want to pay WCW contracts. But could’ve made all of that money back and much more had they done the Invasion angle right with all of the big names from WCW
Mix a broken spirited Stevie Richards in that group and it would be good. Would of been better if this new Flock in WWE stayed neutral during the Invasion since Raven never came off as cannon fodder in a wrestling war. Raven would of seen it all as politics and beneath him to pick a side. Ah well, Vince would never of let that happen
I actually liked when Raven was on Sunday night heat. I thought it was cool. Apart from his legendary ECW time. I think TNA was his second best career move. I'll never forget that "Vince fears Raven" fan sign when he debuted in TNA
I really like how you put out these 3 raven videos so close together so I didn't have to wait a week or so between each. Really like your channel too. Just subbed.
Even now Raven has so much potential to pass his knowledge on. I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up to do so. I've followed his career since I was a youngster. I rate the guy. After some of Vince's scandles surely there can be some forgiveness lol?
Cant wait for Raven pt 4 awesome videos, you earned my sub and bell. you should def do a video about the Sandman's career and feuds because regardless of in ring ability it was great story telling.
Tell me about it. Trying to find Raven's "Masterpiece / Seven Sins" online is a struggle. There are some clips on UA-cam of Stevie Night Heat segments but yeah, it's difficult to find this stuff.
Yes Ravens original channel on You Tube is pure pod cast gold, for any E.C.W. fan. The WWE should be hiring Raven too add too the new creative team, he would make a difference for sure.
I think Raven said that he was clean for his 2nd WWE run. Raven may not have been at the ECW 2005 One Night Stand ppv but he did appear at Shane Douglas Hardcore Homecoming which happened a day before the One Night Stand ppv
First time I saw raven was in the audience in wcw. I asked my husband "who's he" and I was Madly in love. I finally met him at a comic con. We went to take a picture and i said "smile" he laughed and gave a huge smile. I think I've got one of smiling pictures. Cause he usually would look mean in most fan pictures...he had short hair then. After that my crush mysteriously ended.it was weird...
Cool videos man, great channel, I havnt watched wrestling at all since early 2000s good to reminisce. Spew raven didn't go better I was a fan of his back then
Was a really good watch, I enjoyed the 3 part series. Maybe we could get one about the hardy boys, big show, Kane, or Dudley boys? Thanks for the good work. Long time subscriber here🙏🏻
Put out that fourth part, this has been my favorite bio you have done, and oddly I never much paid attention to Raven before this, idk. Great series, man. Also, I'd love for you to do some outside the WWE/WCW/ECW oldies research and put together Zack Sabre JR, Shibata, Chris Hero, and Shinsuke Nakamura videos. Each has a pretty great story if you do your research. Cheers.
Raven is 1 of the best of all time for a lot of reasons. His WCW theme... one of the top 10 themes EVER, his unique gimmick was so different from anything else in the history of the business, thats 100% top 10 too. And he's one of the only guys to win championships in all 4 core promotions in the USA that existed during his career, WCW, ECW, WWF/E, and TNA.
Maybe in the future, you could cover his brief ROH run where he had a great feud with CM Punk and his lengthy TNA run where he started in his stable called The Gathering, partaking in the infamous "scalping incident" after he lost a match VS. Shane Douglas and chunks of his head were being shaved off alongside his hair, Raven's rise to the top of TNA as its NWA World Heavyweight Champion, his other stable called Serotonin..... yup, that was a thing, his feud with Abyss and alignment with Dr. Stevie (Richards) and the EV2.0 thing before leaving, ending the video with an appearance on WWE's Table For 3 and sporadic appearances in TNA/Impact Wrestling (most recently helping Tommy Dreamer and Eddie Edwards earlier this year). Raven is one of my favourite wrestlers ever. New sub here. Keep up the awesome work.
27 time WWE Hardcore Champion. I would have liked to seen Raven have a decent run as Intercontinental Champion. He definitely could have been a bigger push than what he got. Raven vs. Stone Cold, or The Rock, or Undertaker, or Triple H could have made for a good story line. Definitely someone like Mick Foley. I wish he would have been around for the ECW brand in WWE. I would have definitely put the ECW Championship on him.
Crazy that this is such a small part of Ravens career cause as a kid all i knew was WWE and just knew Raven as the guy with the shopping cart. Would have loved to have seen what he could have done if he was taken more serious.
Raven did say he wanted to do ecw one night stand but since he was tna champ at the time tna didn't allow him to do it. They did however let him do shane Douglas hardcore homecoming shows
He wasn't a great fit for WWE but I hate how they intentionally buried him and kept stripping away his unique qualities. They just wanted him to be a jobber and anytime he tried to do something it was snuffed out. When he went to TNA I became a big fan, then I looked back on his WCW run and enjoyed that too. It was only WWE that couldn't use him.
"Who hired jonny polo?" Vince has a mental block when it comes to anything not-wwe created, which is why any big stars who come in from outside don't get much attention or push from vince.
There are some exceptions. Talents like RVD, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, Asuka and others got a great WWE run, and they made a big name for themselves in other well established companies.
I remember watching his debut on tv, at Unforgiven that pop was insane! Raven deserved so so much more, personally I think he should have been the “stalker” for that angle with The Undertaker in 2001, just imagine how good that could have been for the promos alone🤯

So underrated during his time in both WCW and WWE, his best run was in ECW and TNA
WCW atleast tried to do something with him.

True but atleast ddp got to run with the ball in wcw.

WWE wasted Raven. Such a shame. At least he was sucessful in Impact wrestling after leaving WWE.
His ROH run also deserves a mention.
Mike Cabral+ yeah but he was there for a cup of coffee
@@mikecabral2420 It's not even on his Wikipedia his only memorable ROH match was the CM Punk where they were tied by the neck in the strap.

Could you please do Raven's tna run as part four as that is the biggest run of raven's career
for better or for worse, Raven belongs in the WWE hall of fame

Unfortunately if Vince doesnt see an it factor in a person he gives no chance no opportunity you just fill up an hole so to speak
Maybe Vince just hated him because if his time with the company before.
