I usually watch DIY videos just for fun and crafting only my own ideas, but I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS! I'm going to make one! And what I love about is the possibility to hide in your necklace pictures you like or magazine articles which inspires you.
I loved this! I'm about 1/2 way through a beaded curtain project from magazine pages. You've inspired me to make a video once I get a little closer to the end, since I've made a zillion of the beads. The thing with a beaded curtain is the beads can be really long and narrow, the longer the better and still do well. I appreciated seeing this very stylish necklace being made, Thanks so much!
I absolutely love this idea! I am now making brooches out of recycled magazines. I love the color options you can get from using the magazines! Great job and thank you for sharing! More more more please....I just subscribed! Thanks again, Mandy
OMG. i made one of these necklaces, and i wore it to school. so many people were asking me where i bought it and nobody believed i made it myself! thanks so much for posting this vid! you are so cool! :D
That's really neat. I like the idea of using old magazines...I get too many of them and now I have an idea of what to do with them when I've finished. Thanks for posting!
this is so cool and so awesome i over ur tutorial u were quick and to the point and didn't talk much and u showed the technique and well i cant wait to try it out myself. Hope to see more of ur work soon.
I read a tutorial like this in a magazine where the beads were used to make a bowl. It was time consuming to make but the end result was awesome. I gave one away as a christmas present and they loved it!
Excellent tutorial. I'm always looking for creative ways to recycle junk mail, etc., and I use most of it for creating paper castles. Your idea would work well in one of my own paper sculptures. Thanks!
Those were great! Another fun project for me & my 7 & 9 yr old grandchildren (going on 21). We have made some of the longer beads from cutting triangles & wrapping them in a toothpick!
wow i think this is kool. I am actually looking for ideas for a pageant for the creative piece and was looking for extra things for the dress and this mite fit it perfectly THANK YOU!!!!!! continue being creative :D
Very cool!! I've used magazines to make the small oval or tube shaped beads, but this is awesome! Another great use for all my sister's leftover People magazines!! LOL
Such a great idea. Talk about goin green girl. Soon this is gonna be a new fashion trend. I love it. I'm so gonna make one now. Thanks so much for sharing this. :)
Fellow jewelry makers, you can tint Modge Podge for interesting effects. I am obsessed with p urple, so I added a few dots of purple paint to my half full jar of Mod Podge. It gave everything I topcoated a pale lavendar hue and helped bring out the blues, pinks, and purples in the gift boxes I was making. Wish I had pics of the boxes I did. I made them from empty photocopy paper boxes. The paint, papers, and Mod Podge were leftover from other projects. A very inexpensive project!
That is amazing, you can really let your imagination run wild with this one! The interesting thing is when you hold it on the back of your hand, it looks like a slave chain which are very popular now and the cost of them is $25 plus. See, I running with it!!!! :-)
I think you need to roll the chain in to the two end beads to make it stronger than just gluing onto the top. I other words make the bead & chain one.... God Bless! & GREAT IDEA!!!!!
LOL! So I'm so glad I'm not the only one who can't start a sentence or finish a sentence without saying the word "so." So it's so addicting once you start saying it! :0). So ...
Do you know how many magazines I have in my closet...lol!! I just can't seem to toss them so the possibilities are endless....lol!! Subbed you and thanks so much for the tutorial!!!
great idea, I'm trying this now, maybe for other things too other than a necklace, actually, I thought about decorating my nude glasses with flowers like that from magazines. Peace out from Morocco
