another idea.... My granddaughter made quite a few of these this past summer while she was visiting.. We used the pop top tabs off soda cans super glued to the backs of the bottle caps with the round part if the tab sticking slightly above the bottle cap.. any ribbon or cord added makes a very nice necklace.. saves a little money as well... thank you so much for your hints..
Thank you for posting this. What kind of clear stickers did you use? Do you have a complete list of materials (brand names, links to suppliers, etc.) that you can share? I want to get the materials and this information would be very helpful. I've seen lots of how-to videos for these, but yours is very clear and easy to understand.
I really love this. Living in Australia craft things are hard to come by. Just finish making peter pan collar necklace. took me forever to source out the materials for that. Can please list out the brand for all the things you use for this project so can search them online. from A to Z.. Showed this to my girls they are sooo excited!! thank you!
i love how you made them but i have a question do you put the glossy in the cap then put the sticker on or do you put the sticker first then the glossy accents hope to hear from you thank you
for people who want to know, ALL of these parts are available in the scrap booking sections of Hobby Lobby, including the little stretchy necklace band things. Just get a 40% off one item coupon and several people, each with a coupon, to buy all the parts. Or, the bottle caps and necklace band things are part of a brand called spare parts, while the stickers and rhinestones are part of the sticker section, so just wait for each of the brands to have their 50% off week.
Great video except I can't find the glossy accents or mod podge dimensional magic, so I was wondering if you could fill the bottle cap with hot glue. I just want to know if it would leave a resin-like appearance or not. I tried those clear stickers, but one got scratched and it left a foggy streak on it.
Mod Podge sells something called Dimensional Magic which dries clear and has water clean up while wet. A great replacement for resin with the little ones. I found it @ Michael's with the resin. It sells for $5.99 but of course I used my 40% off coupon.
@828lala sorry you didn't like it but it was one of the first videos I ever posted on UA-cam and I didn't learn yet how to edit videos. Maybe we'll do one later.
A potential issue as to the safety of metal washers with kids & wearing them. Some can be allergic to the nickel in the washer finish, so just a simple coat with any spray polyurethane from home depot or walmart will seal them...or you could use clear nail polish. If you were to do a group, you could hang them from a small dowel or string & spray a bunch at once. My daughter has this problem so I know.
The yellowing was more than likely a chemical reaction to the metal. I believe it's copper but one of the metals will turn it blue. Looked really cool. Enjoy.
I'm confused. The Epoxy sticker is 1"and so is the craft paper right? So how does the craft paper stick to the bottle cap? Do you glue the paper down then apply a epoxy sticker?

thanks so much for sharing this lovely idea, and well explained!
this looks so much fun!!!
@jandycus1 both...we put a dot to hold the paper in place...and then covered the entire paper and sticker with glossy accents in the end.
I saw on another video where they used a hammer to flatten the caps out. Looked pretty easy.
You could also use them for just magents for things like a school locker or the fridge :)
@sillyGurls3 ooo I don't remember...all I remember was a seller on Etsy I think I searched washer necklace or nylon necklace
thank you for the video!! i will have to make some of these with my girls!!
@GSJJC1720 necklaces were on etsy, magnets on ebay, accents were left over scrapbook papers from Die Cuts with a View and stickers from wal-mart

Hi! I have easy cast pour resin that dries clear and especially looks more glossy with glaze over top. Could I use that instead of the stickers???????

The yellowing was more than likely a chemical reaction to the metal. I believe it's copper but one of the metals will turn it blue. Looked really cool. Enjoy.
Thank you!
I think I used the Martha Stewart 1 inch punch from Michaels craft store
I think it's made by Ranger Inksentials at Michaels with Tim Holtz things

I also noticed that Glossy Accents also yellows easily.
You can use a rubber mallet :) thats what i use
How much are they to buy on Ebay?
Cute cute cuteee😊😊
Also of course turn upside down when using the mallet
how do you go about making the fabric part to wear as a necklace? can they be sized for a adult to wear as well as a child?
+Debra Swatik it's easiest to buy several premade choker sizes. I'm not a necklace maker so I buy those in bulk at scrapbook conventions
Thank you so much i love it
How much you sale each one?
For the glossy accents, I think mod pod dimensional magic works better. Ok, I'm NOT trying to be mean! Just a tip guys, just a tip.
