Wow! How competent is Mat! This build could have gone sideways in SO many ways. Mat is either incredibly intelligent or amazingly gifted in terms of automotive understanding, or both, to pull off a build this complex. As we know, VAG products are not necessarily immediately interchangeable.
I wonder, given the money he’s likely spent, whether he could have just bought a brand new car and done some minor upgrades to make it equivalent to what he’s done! Either way, as you said, ‘hats off’ to him for bringing this ‘Frankenstein’ to life.

Thanks for the kind words! I could have bought an RS car for the money spent, the key difference is I've spent that money over the course of 7 years since I was 18
So it was either save for 7 years or get hundreds of hours of enjoyment and purpose out of a unique car
@@MIH11MI6Exactly, this is the difference between built and bought. This is very similar to an S1 but it isn't one, it's been an education, a journey a development of something made exactly to your tastes. My Fabia is "just a Fabia" it now has the equivalent performance of Polo GTI stage 1 or 2 performance but it started out as a 110bhp. Yeah with the money I could've gotten into something much faster but I've built this myself and done things no one else has

@@MIH11MI6haha it's hard to do in these little cars😂I'm the same in my little Polo people look at my driving position and their like how the hell are you comfortable but if I went any further back there'd be no space in the back and my arms would be dead straight🤣🤣 which I definitely do not want
As they did a s1 quattro and the same chassis was it mostly bolt on , ditch the quattro badge and get a 4drive one
It wasn't bolt on no, and I've looked for 4Drive badges but none of them are era correct so torn on what to do badge wise, the quattro is small and subtle
It's cool but I'd have done this Ibiza in black and debadged. I like stealth machines, think of the Subaru in Cannonball Run 😂😂😂.
