Mk3 & mk4 shared the same platform, just got a small suspension upgrade and stetics and that was it

Friend, of mine, did the RS Orion turbo swap. He was 6.2 and built like a bouncer. He came up and over then down a long hill. He hit a twin front wheel tipper lorry so hard, he removed the OS wheels and axel. He was ok. The roof was completely flat apart from where he was. Lucky, luck boy.

Oooh. This will DEFINITELY divide opinion. Definitely marmite for me, what I feel doesn't fit is the red bolts on the arches and the front intercooler. Other than that awesome build and another escort (sort of) saved.

It would b easier to hide the intercooler behind a 90 spec bumper or even a RS style 88 bumper extension that a lot of orions had back in the day. Id have rather saw it with series 1 arches and a higher offset wheel to try pull them in a bit but deffo good effort. Looks like it drives really well..

This thing definitely requires an IVA test due to being “radically altered” under the DVLA’s points system. But it’s still registered as a 1989 escort. Owner should drive very carefully because getting pulled over by the wrong traffic copper could land them in the sh!t.
I read if chassis been altered so much it with need iva test but it's had a body swap which not classed as a chassis. I could be wrong and missed read it was a while ago 😅
Karl you are correct. You don’t need an IVA as it’s the same a replacing 1/4 panels etc. Because it’s a complete floor it’s not the same rules from what IVA explained when I spoke to them.

@@stevie750iL have not built anything I am a tech in a dealership. This comment was my view. I have always hated VAG and do not like the idea of a crossover. However this is just my opinion and do not push this on anybody else
