I'm right there with you with Sarah J Maas and Brandon Sanderson!!! Their characters are so real and relatable!
My other favorites are V.E. Schwab (Victoria Schwab), Laini Taylor, Leigh Bardugo, and Maggie Stiefvater! I stay impressed with them. 💜
I also have recently fallen in love with Leigh Bardugo - what rock have I been hiding under? She is amazing!!
Hey, I know it's three years later but (if you like female authors with a mean streak and a bit of romance in their prose) you should check out Robin Hobbe. It's like "Catherine, Called Birdie" with magic and cruelty
Definitely Sarah J Maas. She is queen. I Also like Cassandra Clare, Holly Black, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Rick Riodran and Richelle Mead
I have just recently started to read Ana Huang's books and oofff wow, I am hooked!
A few authors I love are Marisa Myers and Stephanie Myers. The list goes on to Sarah j Mass, Cassandra Claire, and uncle rick and so many more.
Cassandra Claire ^^ also I'm so excited you came to UA-cam so I can see more of you! And add to my books I want to read list which is never ending xD
Huge fan of Sarah J. Maas. Jennifer L. Armentrout. Richelle Mead. Madeline Miller. Brigid Kemmerer.
I am OBSESSED with V.E. Schwab’s writing, I can’t shut up about the Shades of Magic trilogy and am slowly making my way through the rest of her books. I very much like like her
The Shades of Magic Trilogy is excellent. A must read for fantasy fans in my opinion.
I stopped reading for a good six years. Maas revived my love for reading after I found the first four books of her Throne of Glass series at a second-hand store. Crescent City is my favorite of her books!
I discovered you on TikTok and was happy to see you have a UA-cam! I love your passion and enthusiasm! I wish I had more people in my life who loves books as much as I do.
Maggie Stiefvater is by far my favorite author. She manages to be both sincere and beautiful as well as laugh out loud hilarious. Her voice is just so unique.
Im so glad you joined UA-cam! Can’t wait to read your suggestions, I adore Maas, finally reading crescent city now!
Thanks for the recommendations! House of Earth and Blood has quickly risen in my must read list thanks to you! Can't wait to get to it (and the rest of my list)
My go to on writers are L.J Smith, Kelly Armstrong and P.C Cast and now also Sarah J Maas as well (which was also because of booktok)
I’m so excited you’re on UA-cam now! I just read ACOTAR series I loved it! And I’m just starting to really get into Sanderson I’m reading the original mistborn trilogy now and I’m obsessed. And then I have Stormlight archive to read after I finish that because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it! And then on a total opposite end of the spectrum for non fiction I’m obsessed with John C Maxwells leadership booms very insightful
Patricia Briggs got me into reading again. I am now into fantasy all around to young adult to adult fantasy! I have dyslexia and she made me realize how fun it can be even if I am a slow reader. Then I love Erin Morgenstern. I love the Night Circus and the Starless Sea. She came to Texas in January for her book tour and I had to go. She was awesome.
Love a few authors you mentioned and made a few purchases because of this video!
I LOVE Liane Moriarty and if you haven’t read a book by her yet can I just say I started with “What Alice Forgot” and not her most we’ll know book and I’m glad I did because I feel like I got to know her as an author that way before diving into her most popular book.
I’m a big thriller fan so I’m obsessed with Peter Swanson and Ruth Ware.
Authors I am obsessed with: Sarah J. Maas; Jim C. Hines; C. S. Lewis; and I feel like as much as I read there should be more. I Love a lot of authors, but these are the ones I would sell my soul to have a cup of tea/coffee with.
Currently going through the way of kings I’m in the middle of book 3 and boy oh boy is it good, but long had to stop and read a smaller book just to get the sense of completion and fulfillment lol
Frank Herbert. Rachel Caine. TJ Klune.Marie Sexton. AM Arthur.and a lot of others as well.
Sarah J Maas is queen. Mostly because I resonate so much with Feyre! I also love Becca Fitzpatrick hush hush. I always gravitate back to that series.
@@Ezeekat I've read it like 4 times it was my annual summer read! The series was intriguing let me know when you read it!
oh gosh..all those authors have been on my Must READ something from them for awhile now!!! I am super obessed with Scott Lynch right now though.
Speculative Magpie OMG so am I! I just started the second book in the Gentlemans Bastards series 😊😊
@@forever_quiinn1324 I just finished...I was DYING!!!!! I am way to scared to start the third.. I need a break and maybe a nap before I start it!
I will automatically purchase whatever Maggie Stiefvater writes. I agree with your opinion about Leigh Bardugo and how she writes characters, however I am so enchanted by the world building that each new release is must read for me.
am i downloading tiktok onto my phone now for the sheer purpose of finding those sarah j maas tiktoks? why, yes. yes i am.
Authors I'm Obsessed With:
Rick Riordan [I own a lot of his books. I still need to read magnus chase 3 and trials of apollo 2-4 (not ready for the third one cause i was spoiled for something that happens in this one) (28 books not including extra copies)]
Chris Colfer [I love all of his books (out of the books I've read at least)! A Tale Of Magic is still my favorite. I can't wait for A Tale Of Witchcraft.]
SJM Definitely. Scarlett St. Claire is another if you like greek mythology, but you don't need a deep knowledge of it to appreciate it. Also five pepper rating.
I'm obsessed with your books and also any fantasy author out there
Adding TJ Kune to my TBR list as said TBR list stares at me in disappointment.
For me it would be JRR Tolkien, Rainbow Rowell, and Jane Austen 😅
Neil Shusterman has got the top spot for me my man. I’m currently working on reading every book he’s ever written, but it’s gonna take some time. The first book I read of his was Unwind, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Rick Riordan hands down. My friends know that in the fandom we call him Uncle Rick and I wrote my senior seminar paper for College about his books
I like like Sarah J Maas too (but I've only read the ACOTAR series, I'm going to fix that soon though), I also love Sara Raasch and Ruta Sepetys
Please go trough your bookself. Like the best, worst, longest, shortest. Those type of things. (It's probably too much to go trough in one video, if you go trough all of them.)
Patrick Ness and Leigh Bardugo are my #1 go to authors!
Have you tried Patricia Briggs or Kelley Armstrong? Both are fabulous and I am obsessed with them
My like like authors are Stephen King (I love horror and his writing style), John Green (he truly got me to like YA), Kathy Reichs (I feel as if she is entertaining as well as educating you with her books), and Brian Keene (most people either know of him or don't). My book interests never seem to align with other readers especially if they read more of the main stream, highly anticipated books.
Neil Gaiman, Guy Gabriel Kay, and V. E. / Victoria Schwab are mine. Sanderson is getting close to that level with me.
Almost all of my favorite authors are Norwegian, and is sadly rarely translated to english which feels super sad, cause other places miss out on some great books.
Also makes me stress about what books from like.. Hungary or Italy I am missing out on
@@Ezeekat As I said, a lot of what i read isn't translated, which is too bad but I know the author Maja Lunde has had some books translated into English. I have heard good things about The history of bees and The Snow Sisters is super good. Don't know how to find them in English either though but.. it' something😅😊
If it had been in English the kid/ teenager fantasy series Phenomena is one of my favorites from growing up. Elves, magic, talking bears and epic battles. Oh how I wish more people could read it
Steven King and Cassandra Clair
I was gifted a book by Xiran Jay Zhao, titled Iron Widow for Christmas & I'm obsessed with it
I also love Sarah J Maas like you, I love JKRowling and Samantha shannon very much!
And of course Tolkien!!!
I’ve read 3 of trisha levensellers books and i absolutely looovveee her characters. Alosa and Alessandra are two of my all time favorite MCs.
I also love tehereh mafis writing in shatter me. i absolutely fell in love with her words.
And then there’s john marrs. I’ve only read one book of his, but it was so good that I know i need to read the rest. The plot twists!!!!
I also love neal shusterman’s dystopian worlds that he creates. I want to read all of them.
This video took me back to the time Holly Black commented on a Twitter post I did about how Valiant changed my life, and then I got so excited that I had a self-induced panic attack 🐧
Have you read anything by Tamora Pierce? She's one of my favorite authors and does really good world building.
I haven’t but I recently purchased my first book by her so I’ll be reading it soon!
Do you read any middle grade books? Do you have any middle grade authors you love?
You should check out Neal Shusterman
Ezeekat Scythe is such a good trilogy! When you finish it, hit me up! I’ve been looking for someone to talk about it!
So, have you read "Carry On" yet?
Yes, but since I listened to it on audiobook I’ve decided to reread it in the near future.
@@Ezeekat awesome. I did that too. Actually I listened to it before I even realized about Fangirl. Then I read both of them in order followed by Wayward son. Rowell did a much better job with this series then she did with Eleanore and Park.
Also, greatings from a Swedish teacher in her 30s that also enjoys reading YA (and of course loves reading in general) who is also a K-pop fan (of course I know that you don't ;P) thank you for your content!
Rick Riordan
John Scalzi
Ibram X Kendi
Tamsyn Muir
C.j Redwine
Rachel Aaron
Kwame Mbalia
Neil Gaiman
I love Sarah j. Maas, but I think she could do better for representation. For example,(spoiler) when she made Helion (acowar) bisexual, she fed into the bi stereotype of being a cheater/ enjoying and wanting a 3some, as a bi girl myself, I absolutely hated it. Also, I think she needs to add some more people of colour, anyone people of colour are side characters that are there for a few chapters and forgotten. Again, I absolutely love Sarah but she need to improve on certain things. 😌
Jaysen Tiktok might be banned by tomorrow just thought you should know
Sarah J. Maas all day and night. For me she is the best.
