Whoever picked Bruce Willis for this role has my respect and thanks for eternity
he was the perfect choice for this movie
@@raven4k998 He was 4th in line for the role - the other 3 famous actors turned down the role because the offered fee for the role was too low.
I didn't even know Bruce Willis was on this. I'm used to him playing the "tough bounty hunter" persona, that I didn't know he played the clumsy, incompetent husband
@@stevennguyen4993 well he did cause he is a very versatile actor with many skills you'd be surprised at what he can play
That was back when he actually put some effort into his roles.
Moral of the story: don’t call Meryl Streep a bad actress or you’ll bring it on yourself
And immortality isn't worth it, or the pretty friend of your fiance
True lol 🤣
😂😂😂👍
But she is a bad actress 😭😭😭
@@jochemb.1748 what? She is great 👍👏 If you think she's bad, it's only your problem 😖
"These are the moments that make life worth living." Meryl Streep is legendary!
'I am completely rational, Ernest!!! We're going to bury her in Death Valley' after she just shotgunned the mistress into the pool lmao. Every line in this scene is iconic.
Great performance
Honey, Meryl Streep is a bad bitch! Don’t mess with Meryl honey
😂😂😂
She didn't write this, just read a script and repeated it. She is waaaaaaaay overrated.
I didn't even realize that their names were long for Mad and Hell. Ernest.... it explains their characters very well.
.
Good observation
Nice
Apparently it was supposed to be Mad Ern Hell, spelling out madder than hell.
I've seen the film dozens of times since I was a kid and I only picked up on this now.
It's great that after all this time, there's still something new to learn about it.
I’m dying at the fact the Madelyn claws the pillar after “she was a Bad actress” 😂😂😂 that was the straw
And the fact that she would even mention such a thing? 😂
Bruce Willis is so good at comedy I wish he'd done it more.
Sadly These days he's just sleepwalking through Low budget Action Schlock....
@@eamonndeane587 this comment didn’t age well 😬
@@eamonndeane587 He knew his time was up soon, he had a condition that was worsening losing his ability to memorize lines, doctors estimate within a year he wont be able to remember one line.
Couldn't agree more! He's hilarious in this!! " More vodka!!" 🤣🤣
Actually, Willis started from comedy drama Moonlighting
That scream by Bruce Willis though (2:18) lmao 🤣. He was brilliant in this.
They ALL were! So campy and hilarious.
Bruce is a much better actor than he gets credit for. He is usually seen as a "STAR", not an actor.
He checks her pulse, just to make sure. She's dead, there's a pond full of blood and she blew a holew through her stomach
Thats my favorite part 😆 🤣
I always thought that was Goldie Hawn's scream! :D
I hope they never remake this film. It’s perfect as it is
You know they will
😭😭😭😭😭
I have a feeling that they will do it. Probably but a dance scene in it😭😭
I don't think it will be but given how producers know they can milk a nostalgic property...
If they do, I think an interesting cast would be Anne Hathaway for Madeline, Kate Hudson for Helen and Chris Hemsworth for Ernest.
Shh... Don't give them ideas
Meryl looks absolutely stunning
When doesn't she.
I think they both do
For real like I can’t believe that when she first auditioned to be an actress the guy who was auditioning her told her that she was ugly....well that’s good life lesson, never think that what someone says or think about you is true cause you’re that bitch and listening to people like that will mentally destroy you and she’s a good exemple of a strong woman who didn’t listen to a old man critics
@Busy Bodies! That's bullshit she's genuinely pretty or you got high ass standards
@@AllieBee00 FACTS
Bruce Willis as the dorky guy in the middle cracks me up. He’s so good.
"In 12 years in Los Angeles, have you ever seen a neighbor?" 😂
Although not an action movie Bruce Willis also shines in this movie. Even though internationally he's more recognized as an action star.
Bruce Willis was not an action star before Die Hard.
Before it's release some people thought he was a bad choice for an action movie.
@@stephenolan5539 That's an interesting trivia. You see I was born in '84 (90's kid) and the Bruce Willis that we know is an action star.
@@francisfrando1071
I was born in 1962. He was the star of a show called Moonlighting. It was a romantic comedy.
@@stephenolan5539 It happens to all actors/actresses who started in showbiz as a dramatic actor, comedian, singer, dancer etc. But when they venture in Action and become successful they stick in to that genre and typecasted to action roles for their whole career.
@@francisfrando1071 aka Mr Neeson who is a great actor but alas now all we see of him in a movie is a " set of skills"
Apparently Meryl improvised her line “these are the moments that make life worth living”
That’s why she was lowkey laughing. ICONIC line 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
When she splashed into the pond after getting shot... such a great stunt, great shot, just a wonderfully constructed scene.
I wish I could see a 'making of' video for this scene. The stunt person who landed in the pool did an awesome job.
This was a good role for Bruce Willis...Unlike the badass action hero he usually plays...He stretched his comedy talents playing a wishy washy alcoholic wimp at the mercy of two vain selfish ghouls...
I know!!! It’s my favourite role of his.
Yup. He is a great actor too bad he’s a typecast
Actually its the other way around. People forget that Bruce Willis did not start as an action star, this was the kind of roles he usually played. It was only after he was in Die Hard that he became an action star, and before that movie came out people joked it was bad casting because they only knew him as a comedy actor.
@@marteumar8429 As a badass, not a bad typecast
Yup , He is a good actor
I love this movie so much! And Meryl’s performance is out of this world too! And so is Goldie Hawn and Bruce
I need to watch it again.... for the 20th time
@@bplatonova I feel ya! It’s such a good movie that I feel like I could never get tired of it
I never realised that Ernest was Bruce Willis. Noway in hell he acted in a comedy and delivered such awesome performance. Still shocked even though I watched this movie twice and all short clips on UA-cam
@@humanbeing1429 haha no I thought the same too
@@humanbeing1429 yeah, it is so much out of his typical character. And he managed to play that simp really well, what a great job done!
I’m impressed how she glides down the stairs without having to look down!
Bruce Willis' screams just crack me up. Screams like a little girl 😂😂
I LOVE the way she glides down the stairs and gets right in her face. 🤣
Audrey Hepburn did it too in Funny Face. I have no idea how they did it!
@@lepetitchat123 Right? I would've fallen flat on my face. 😂
@@alyzu4755 maybe they have a mirror in front of them to help them
I love when Goldie Hawn gets back up with a hole in her mid section and Meryl says …you’re so transparent…I can see right through you ! Such a great movie 🎥
One of my favorite movies of all time. This scene never gets old. That scream.😂
For me it's Goldie Hawn flying 20 feet through the air when Madeline shoots her and after she's like 'well I'm not gonna go to prison! We're just gonna bury her in Death Valley!' lmaooo
For me it was the part when Madeline gets up after falling down the stairs and her neck is twisted around.
I always forget it's Bruce doing the high pitched scream when Mad shoots Hell.😂
It's really like a Ned Flanders or Homer Simpson scream, which fits this so well lmao
For someone whose neck broke so many times in this movie, she sure has no difficulty in managing the movements of her head.
I think Ernest corrected her spine back into position or something since we don’t see the bone sticking out of her neck
@@garyking1986 and then it got bonked into her torso when she fought hell
All the reconstruction they do has helped, even though Mad and Hel did a shoddy job without Ernest arpund
Thank god this movie actually exists. Nobody I know remembers it. I try describing it and people look at me strangely. I thought I was suffering from the Mandela Effect.
Oh my god me too! I was accused of straight up making it up, for years I thought it was the Mandela effect!
Well, it exists as a series of scenes and outtakes that were filmed before they closed down production, some of which have reached the public.
@@aaronc4899 Cute, but I have seen the entire thing.
No Mandela Effect here but that movie Sinbad was in now doesn't exist along with another one called Batteries still not included.
I loved this movie as a child. This movie is where my love and respect started for Meryl Streep.

I KNOW HE IS EVERYTHING
I can’t even remember how many times I’ve seen this movie
I love that Ernest screams like a girl when Madeline shoots Helen.
😂 that part cracks me up. His hysteria the whole movie wS a gem
The actresses were so amazing.
This feels like Bruce Willis pretending to be a Rick Moranis character.
I never thought it, but he has a bit of Moranis from back in the day. He would have been perfect casting for this. Although Ernest was supposed to be Kevin Kline
Very much so. It's like they wanted Moranis flavor but someone more likely to have two women fighting over him.
Name of the movie please
@@sashatobelem title of the clip?
Holy shit that isn’t Rick Moranis?!?
2:05 that double take! Awesome!
Goldie looks good as a redhead.
Bruce also is good as a wimpy actor.
After they drink the potion, I just noticed their eye colors change shortly after being killed, like a grayish-blue or a violet. Then it dawned on me that when people die and their body begins to decay, they lose their original eye color and it turns into a gray-blue and will occasionally cloud up. I thought it was because since the potion made them beautiful, it made their eyes change and look beautiful too. NOPE! It was because they were dead and decaying, hence the loss in their eye color from when they were once alive (in this clip, Helen doesn’t officially die until the end when she gets shot into the pool, but Madeline was dead for quite sometime. Her eye color was once brown, but now it is officially a grayish violet-blue 😳😟
oohhh nice detail
The writing is.... just amazing.
2:18 that scream 😂😂😂😂😂
It's like a Homer Simpson scream!
2:36 when you hear an ex bf had died
2:19 ernest’s scream got me rolling looooolllll
DAMN! I have no idea how many times I've watched this movie. It's hysterical , slick and hillarious gem from 90's. I ❤ Death Becomes Her !

I love it when Ernest has a panic attack.
I shouldn’t laugh because I’ve had a couple of those too, but that’s what basically happened 😂🤣😂🤣😂
Not to mention his voice cracks.
One of my favorite scenes in this movie is when Goldie appears at the door in the rain with the green umbrella. Gorgeousssss
2:18 NED FLANDER'S YELLIN!!
I cracked my ribs as a kid watching this. Watching this now I kinda am bonkers about how this movie is a play on ageism and they had to be super extra about it LOL. This has got to be one of Meryl's best HAHAHAHAHAHA
I LOVE THIS MOVIE and have watched it so many times . When Meryl Streep sees the price of the youth serum and refuses it and then Isabella Rosallini puts it on her hand, which becomes young and Meryl totally deadpan says "check okay?"
1:18 I love the way she loses her temper 😆
2:34 oh, the way she delivers those lines is magnificent!
i'm sad that her hairstyle isn't in anymore, it looks so good but you never see it these days
Maaad?! 😳
Hell 😒
Darling! 🤪
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The thing about never seeing the neighbors in Los Angeles is true 😂
I think it's a gimmick calling her a bad actress, since it's Meryl Streep playing that part...😂
Meryl Streep has to learn to act badly in this movie and learn to sing badly in Florence Foster Jenkins.
Such a classic movie! I've watched this repeatedly!
"I most certainly will not!"
"Oh no! Pretty strong words for a murderer on the run. Which is, let's face it exactly, what you are Ernest!"
My mom's a great mom, one of best in my opinion, but Is it bad that I watched this hundreds of times growing up becuase it was on of her favorites? 🤣 Brings back to much memories

Wow...just...Wow😍...both of them are just...WOW!!
Meryl Streep, Isabella Rossellini, & Goldie Hawn were incredibly stunning!❤
The cinema of the 90s was great. Visual effects are in the space age, but such clever films can't be made right now.
Meryl Streep is gorgeous!! And Goldie is just always a beauty. Looking just like her daughter here
MADLY ICONIC!!!!

So how many Katz do you own ? 🤔😆
That's essentially what she was doing... when she threw it in his face, that's when he killed her.
The entire movie is a collection of humourous, plays on words, nitpicks on Hollywood. In my heart (not my neck), this movie is legendary.
She’s dead! She is! These are the moments that make life worth living! Just let me enjoy the moment
Oh my, imagine all that plotting and scheming, and how it backfires, in the most mysterious way 😅
This is one of the best movie I have ever seen.
This movie is a masterpiece sci-fi comedy and CGI is waaaaay better than it's time
Well it was 1992
"She's a bad actress"
