I agree! I am glad the film was at least nominated for Best Production Design (probably for Debbie's mansion, which barely lasts!) The first Addams family (1991) WAS nominated for Costumes, so that's a nice consolation.
If she had actually gotten away with murdering Fester, he would have died happy, and they would have respected her as a homicidal maniac. Heck, they would have been proud of Fester for landing a killer bride. But she tried to separate the family. That was her mistake.

Raul left us way too soon. I would have watched Addams 3, 4, 5 and 6 and as many as they made, as long as he was in it. Casting of a lifetime for sure.
Joan Cusack is a talented actress known for her memorable roles in various films. If you're referring to a specific performance, which movie do you have in mind?
Joan Cusack delivered an exceptional performance in the 1997 film *In & Out*. Her role as the outspoken and supportive teacher, who is both humorous and emotionally resonant, earned widespread acclaim. Despite her standout performance, she did not receive an Oscar nomination, which many felt was deserved given her contribution to the film.
6:20 that over dramatic sobbing turning into mischievous giggles and then finally breaking into a very delightful laughter 😂 It gets me every time man...
It's rare for a new cast member to steal the show from an already stellar ensemble. Joan really did an awesome and hilarious job in this film. She made it twice as good and fun to watch. It's also credit to the writers for giving her some great one-liners. Can't think of any other actress who could deliver those lines as perfectly as Joan. Great and underrated actress!! 8:52 "OH, YEAH? SET THIS!!" HAHAHA!!
While I agree with everything you said about Cusack stealing the show, I think Meryl Streep would have been an excellent choice since she did a great job in Death Becomes Her. Maybe, Goldie Hawn would have been another great choice since she did well in Death Becomes Her. You are spot on with everything else you said. God Bless.
The Debbie and Morticia have the best dynamic in this movie, I swear. They'd almost good frenemies, if they didn't have such contrasting interior design tastes.
As much as I loved the original movie, and the original was an excellent movie, this is one of the rare times where the sequel surpasses the original movie. THere were so many good parts to this movie I could watching it a dozen more times and not get bored with it.
Your so RIGHT! Not only was Joan Cusack’s character and performance sensational, the whole summer camp was INCREDIBLE. Christina Ricci’s speech to the pilgrims has always been my favorite scene…. ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
The “mal-uh-bu bar-bee” line is the most ‘Joan Cusack’ delivery ever. She seems to have something like that in most of her roles, and no one else can do it quite the same.
honestly everytime i see a barbie doll i go "MAL-UH-BOO BARR-BIEE" even if its not a malibu barbie her voice and tone just stuck in my head since i was a kid.
At 4:18, how ironic is the scene when the grandmother said "looks familiar, of course, the gates of hell" and then they showed Debbie wearing white with feathers dressing like an angel 😂
LOL I thought she said 'looks familiar, across the gates of hell' as in she had heard or seen a place through the gates of hell meaning heaven. Just thought she had a heavy accent.
What is more ironic is that Debbie didn't realize that the Addams accepted her because of all of those atrocities she committed and even that she fit perfectly with them 🤣🤣🤣
She would be an interesting character. A materialistic woman who constantly tries to kill her husband (without success). She hates the family, but at the same time she doesn't leave because it feels free to be herself with them.
7:24 can we talk about how iconic her confrontation scene was? Like who hasn't dreamt of marching into their in-laws house, cocking a shotgun like that? 😂 Presuming that you don't have a positive relationship with them of course.

So-I killed, so I maimed, so I destroyed one innocent "credit card" after another. Aren't I a human being? Don't I yearn, and ache, and shop? Don't I deserve love... and jewelry?
I don't think he and our kids ever laughed louder .
I Love you for this!!
@@JasonMovieGuy And i love you for this great video and this truly nice comment.

This is the perfect example of how a great cast can level up any story. They were all truly committed to make this great.
This role was so iconic. My family still quotes that "Sorry Debbie, no Mercedes this year. We have to set an EXAMPLE" line in 2023.
i love her “backstory” and her explaining why she kills💀💀
I love how there’s pictures of all the killings 😂

Raul Julia and Angelica Huston were ABSOLUTELY PERFECT as Gomez and Morticia.
I miss Raul so much. These two made me like..if I can't have a love like theirs, fuck it I don't want it lol
Agree. Marriage goals.
Raul left us way too soon. I would have watched Addams 3, 4, 5 and 6 and as many as they made, as long as he was in it. Casting of a lifetime for sure.
Raul Julia is so underrated, it's people don't bring up his performance as Gomez enough when praising the perfect casting in the movie.

Joan Cusack should have gotten an oscar for this.
Joan Cusack is a talented actress known for her memorable roles in various films. If you're referring to a specific performance, which movie do you have in mind?
@@efrainsoto96 For this role in this film.
@@efrainsoto96Why are you generating AI comments? Lol

She reminded me of Meryl Streep in Death becomes her right there in that bit
@@alvexok5523 I thought I was the only one who thought that. Those two ladies could have played sisters in this movie or Death Becomes Her. God Bless.
That's some Oscar worthy acting
Top notch acting.
@@KanishQQuotes if she had been nominated for an Oscar for this role, this scene should have been her clip.
8:52
"OH, YEAH? SET THIS!!"
HAHAHA!!
God Bless.
She didn't steal the show. They all had their moments.
For me it was the scene after the bomb exploded, Fester asked "but dont you love me?" and her laugh just sent me through the roof
I'm sure most of her lines were improvised
She stole this movie
She put this movie in the "sequels better than the original" club 😂
She steals every movie. Love her!
Wednesday was even better 😉
She carried this movie !!!! Literally such an amazing actress

The Debbie and Morticia have the best dynamic in this movie, I swear. They'd almost good frenemies, if they didn't have such contrasting interior design tastes.

i love how her wedding vow was “ditto” 😂

The “mal-uh-bu bar-bee” line is the most ‘Joan Cusack’ delivery ever. She seems to have something like that in most of her roles, and no one else can do it quite the same.

At 4:18, how ironic is the scene when the grandmother said "looks familiar, of course, the gates of hell" and then they showed Debbie wearing white with feathers dressing like an angel 😂
This movie is a gem
LOL I thought she said 'looks familiar, across the gates of hell' as in she had heard or seen a place through the gates of hell meaning heaven. Just thought she had a heavy accent.
The part in the car when she laughs and then is all chilling when the house exploded is so macabre and funny.
Joan Cusack is a precious gem in everything she's done.

What is more ironic is that Debbie didn't realize that the Addams accepted her because of all of those atrocities she committed and even that she fit perfectly with them 🤣🤣🤣
You can tell she was having the time of her life playing this part.
They all must've had a blast playing these crazy characters. 😂
I'm still so MAD they didn't write her INTO THE FAMILY! SHE'S PERFECT!
Ya. She coulda been redeemed.
Well, they did bury her the family plot
She would be an interesting character. A materialistic woman who constantly tries to kill her husband (without success). She hates the family, but at the same time she doesn't leave because it feels free to be herself with them.
That's Barry Sonnenfeld. He hated materialism and women that bought into it.

The men in the family can't relate - Gomez was also confused. Grandma and Morticia sympathizing was hilarious also.

They wouldn’t have cared about her liking money. It’s the pastels that were the real problem.
