  • Hey everyone!
Today we start out raking with the 1940 Farmall M and International number 30 wheel rake. After that is completed, we take the M back out with the John Deere model 24T square baler to bale up the field!

Conner, that rake was doing a good job raking 👍🏻, and the hay looked good too. Back in the day I looked at the back of a John deer bailer many days now at 70 my hay days are far and few lol 😂. Great video, and really nice camera work. Thanks Conner, God bless you. From Kentucky 😊.

I spent lots of summers either running a 24T or loading racks behind a 24T. Yours makes a really nice dense bale from the looks of it! Yeah no live power isn't ideal but baled a lot with either a 1947 John Deere B and a mid 40's Minneapolis Moline RTU. I also recall baling oat straw for a neighbor with an older 14T, running it with his IH 656 gas with a TA, I can't belive how many bales I jammed out that day dropping them on the ground.

Hey Connor,,,looks like everything is working pretty good. Finally dry enough to get some haying done. The MD you mentioned is yer dad's isn't it? Remember seeing a video you did awhile back on a visit to the home place. The cows were out on that one,,lol.

@@ronzezulka6646 Yes it is my dads. It had blown the head gasket and was pushing coolant. I was having trouble locating a machine shop that would work on it could work on the cylinder head as it did have a tiny crack in it. I haven’t started the process back up after returning because it’s sitting outside and I don’t have anywhere to put it inside. Plus I still need to retrieve my engine hoist from the former location.

The M seems to be running well! Looked like you were raking a mud hole in the beginning there.

@@IndergaardAcres The M is doing awesome! My issues with the carburetor have seemed to all worked themselves out. I’m just bummed it leaks oil like a sieve. Yes, there was a mud spot in the field, baling it we ended up having to ditch the hay as we were making a bigger mess with ruts than anything else.

I have not seen anyone bucking bails in a generation. Very common 50 years ago.

@@johncrisman576 Yup, we’re still pretty old school in that sense! Not thrower, no bale basket, just good hand stacking!

@@lukestrasser Only a small lower area, which we needed up leaving behind when baling as we were making a bigger mess with ruts than anything else.
