In this clip, Omar Gooding opened up about John Singleton reaching out to him and his mother, who was his manager, about wanting to make him a "movie star" with "Baby Boy." Omar then detailed auditioning for the role of "Sweetpea" and feeling good about it, but he added that he didn't hear anything for a month. From there, Omar shared stories about how his past run-ins in the streets helped him prepare for the role, but it was John Singleton telling him to "step it up" during rehearsals that really made him push harder. Acting is an amazing talent. I can’t believe this is the guy who played Pea.
