That was severeal years ago, so guess we all know, what is not going to happen ;D

Some extra info on hidden vehicles as a long time player (since Oct. 2013): three of the seven SM.79 bombers now hidden in the German tech tree were removed in patch 1.35 (Dec. 2013), as they were very similar aircraft only there to inflate the number of "unique" vehicles in game for the Guiness World Record. I only have four of these variants in the German tree. In addition, the USSR had a couple of these bombers, two variants of the Yer-2 (which I don't have), and two variants of the SB-2M bomber (which I do have). Another thing, two of the German-Italian fighters (CR.42 and C.202) have additional unlockable skins the Italian tree lacks: the CR.42 can equip a Belgium 1940 skin, and the C.202 can equip a Luftwaffe skin with German markings and everything. Additionally, there are actually two hidden Gladiators, not just one: Gladiator IIF (in the video), and IIS (not in the video, I only own that one). They, alongside the regular Gladiator, were Britain's original reserve aircraft, the IIS was made available for an event celebrating the birthday of the Gladiator in 2015 (thats how I got it). UK also has the D.521, a gift copy-paste of the D.520. Finally, 4 of the 5 major nations used to have four reserve aircraft, that was cut down to three. USA only had three, Germany had the He.51 C-1/L, USSR has the I-15bis, UK had the Nimrod Mk.II, and Japan had the Ki-10 IIC
I have all 14 Italian planes in the German tree, (too bad they replaced the old cool looing Luftwaffe skin on the 202 with a boring new one), I have 4 Yer-2s and 6 SB-2s, a LaGG-3-23, MBR-2, the old tech tree OS2Us, the Furys +3 Gladiators, the D.521 (only), 4 Ki-10 + 2 A5M4s, all 3 He 112Bs in the german tree, Ex Malta skin for the Ju-88A4 (they changed that too). And a ton of event planes too from the TB-3 to the FW-189, but there are a few I regret now that i skipped, like the AU-1.
Wow. I have Tupolev TU-2 and now I am proud of it. I participated in the open beta. They actually gave the plane also for the open period of the beta test, not only for the closed. I tried to apply for the closed testing but they didn't allow me back then, so I only played the open. I was really anticipating the game back then. Now I don't play it because it is too expensive to me, absolutely impossible to get to anything except low BR just by grind. But I still love the game and have fond memories of playing as a kid it back in 2013-2015. I am a gamedev programmer and, maybe one day, I will apply to be hired as a WT developer to be able to play high BRs, lol.
I was but a mere child during beta, so as children do, I've lost a couple accounts over the years.. could only imagine what it would be like if I kept the same email all this time
Funny thing about the Tu-2, they actually moved it up in br somewhat recently, from 4.0 to 4.3. It's pretty OP, idk the stats but it feels just like the higher br Tu-2's. I like to drop my bombs and use it as a heavy fighter
@@Ypog_UA the OG Tu-2 that you can't own for not being part of the closed testing in 2013 was 4.0 because no one really used it to the point of even popping up on statistics
The original Tu-2 performs the same as the Tu-2S according to a friend of mine who played the game since 2012/13, he says that the difference is probably top speed but that's about it
I have the red/black P-51A, the German Italian planes, the A-26C-45, and of course the 2-OP. This was a great trip down memory lane of all the shit I worked hard for, back when I played a lot more than I do now. But in the end these are just collecting dust and I never really flew them again lol.
I remember when the 262 and Arado were the only planes that could land without gear, it was such an advantage! (I still land with gear if I can though, it looks cooler :))
upsides: land with a gear you can take no damage and dead stop to hold J, you rearm way faster (only air realistic) Down sides: belly land faster but if you take damage, you have repair it and it takes 30 seconds
I've been playing since patch 1.24, there is so much more War Thunder lore. Great video though, I have always been a dedicated Italy player, and have them all unlocked for Germany. My most played plane in Germany is the MC 202 xD Was hoping "Tonks" and "SoonTM" to be on the bottom of the Iceberg but I guess no one remembers those days anymore
Italy air is rarely played because much of the planes are overpriced on repair costs, overtiered and/or just genuinely uncompetitive. Not to mention much of the jets are simple copy & pastes.
i really hope they add the A-9, it was the competitor to the A-10 when the us airforce was trying to get a new attack/coin aircraft (coin is counter insurgancy btw)
@@NXBXD COIN means COunter INsurgency. The A-10 program was originally designed to bust Russian heavy armor formations, not fight insurgents. Turns out a plane like the A-10 is actually really bad at killing tanks and surviving against a conventional military force, but pretty dang good at fighting insurgents that can't fight back with its long loiter time and large payload. Nowadays the A-10 is very much used as a COIN tool, but originally it was designed for destroying tanks in Germany in a WWIII situation. When the A-10 was finally able to fight tanks, even shitty old tanks in the Gul War, it turned out that it was actually really, really bad at it.
@@NXBXD That is objectively not true. In the Gulf War, the A-10 claimed more tank kills than the Iraqis actually fucking had. That means they were lying. The A-10 had no camera or thermal imaging system. The pilots were literally finding targets with binoculars. The gun is extremely inaccurate and it has poor penetration. There is not evidence that they EVER killed a tank with the 30mm in combat. They pretty much only scored kills with guided missiles that many other planes can delivery better because they actually fucking have camera systems. The actual combat record of the A-10 is abysmal and riddled with more friendly fire incidents than any other aircraft because, again, the A-10 had no way of identifying targets. They also no camera system to actually be able to tell if the thing they thought they killed actually died. They just attacked a tank and assumed they killed it without actually having any way to tell if it was dead. They would them go and report that kill with no proof. It's believed that the vast majority of air to ground kills were done by Aardvarks and Strike Eagles. The A-10 is a very cool aircraft, but its actual service record is quite poor. Sure it can shoot a big gun at dudes with AKs pretty well, but against literally anything else it has a very hard time bring effective. Source: Tons of historically documents and research, and also my cousin who actually flew them in combat in the conflicts in question.
@@NXBXD it would still be a kill for the a-10, yes… but the maverick and any other guided munition is far more effectively employed by F15s and F16s than the A-10. There are literally no advantages to having the A-10 in service in the drone age other than ‘brrrt sounds gud, hurrrrr’. Drones loaded with hellfires are better at its job, the lack of avionics and IFF ability lead to a relative of mine being gunned down in a blue on blue convoy Incident in the sandpit. Wouldn’t have happened if any other American bird was flying that mission. The fact that the servicemen responsible for this blue on blue were never extradited for trial, civilian or courts martial is absolutely disgusting.
Nice video but you forgot a few things, BULLPUPS when they are add with FJ4B; G56 for a long time was the most expansive aircraft in ARB, TU4 when it were added can easily end a game by few minutes; At a att the A4E (i think) was capable of crashing into the ground crash the whole game of everyone in the match
As an Italy main, guess I'm firmly entrenched at the bottom of that iceberg. Entire air tree spaded except the newest G.91Y, ground tree spaded up to 9.3 and only five more vehicles to research. I'll complete it all eventually.
I have one ground vehicle (VCC 80/30) (Sidam Mistral was a pain) and just a couple of aircraft left to spade for Italy, nice to see another Italy main on here! If you want to squad up to grind out the rest of your tree(s) sometime, LMK.
@@koztac I've taken a break from Italy for a while, since 10.0 stock is not very fun and I also don't feel like spading the VBC just yet. Moved on to China, spading 8.0. Also a nightmare since I'm on to the M41D and M113A1.
I actually play a lot of Italy, the problem of Italy is that most of planes have lower specs than then planes at the same BR, but if you play Simulator Battles you will actually enjoy playing with Italy planes, because the enemies can't even see of the dot they are seeing is enemy or not, and u just need to have altitude or energy advantage. I actually love to play SM.91 and i bought the G.55S and it's terrifying how good it's
There’s a very simple reason nobody plays Italian aircraft. The rent is too damn high! They’re bloody expensive to repair and till late WWII very underarmed.
21:30 I've been playing since 2012. I had those Italian bombers on the German tech tree unlocked years before Italy became a independent nation in the game. However my SM.79 bombers got moved to Italy
Also note on those last two SM.79, the Serie 4 and bis/N are still missing from the Italian Tree, they have not been re-added since their removal still.
use stealth ammo, give a nice burst from 1.5 to 1km away, then evade incoming fire with a barrel roll. 20mm cannons from german planes are powerfull per shot but not as accurate as .50 cal Browning machine guns
Some things you missed (there is even more but these are a few off the top of my head): KREBS's 20+ kill club, rudder-turning in AB, The D Point, Thunder League Skins, German Sherman, Tri-Color Smoke, Rarest Game Titles (Superhero, 5 original country symbols), first crafting event vehicles, mach speeds at the top of the sky box, and at the very-very-very bottom of the iceberg.... super old bugs (ultra-speed, uber-turns with specific keybinds discovered by players like Peacock). Also, shit I didn't even realize the Tu-2 was that rare since I've always had it but I notice that it's in the premium side of the tech tree s a non-premium; funny enough it's still stock for me since I never played it.
P2W Premiums definitely have a place somewhere below the surface of the iceberg. It isn't hard to notice a pattern of premium counterparts of tech tree vehicles but with extra features on the same br. Like Su-11 - it's crazy OP at its br and that's why it sells so good.
I distinctly remember in 2013, the Fw-190 D13 and D12 has arrestor hooks and could perform carrier landings easily. People on the forums had dug up a source claiming there were plans to field them on the Graff Zeppelin, so it might be where Gaijin got the idea from
what I've noticed in regards to the AAA on airfields is that they only work for my team and never for the enemy team. Like I get within like 5-6km of the airfield and they are basically just sniping me with perfect accuracy. But the enemy can just ride up to the airfield at a relatively normal height and not get shot down. It's so bad that even if I have to, I will usually not go back to my airfield because it's just incredibly unfair for my team.
Yeah dude that's a problem to only a few players, the max range for base AA is 2 miles or about 4 kilometers. It shouldn't be able to hit you at any range over that, other than high tier with SAM sites.
I'm stuck in 5.7 because my god, the sherman vc sucks, r3 is really fun to play, you cap, retreat, and wait for your team to arrive so you can sneak to x position and wait for planes, the 75/46 m43 has a really good gun depression but lacks armor and penetration for its br, heck I even dare to say the m43 tipo is better than the sherman vc, the vc has no gun depression at all and that's why I get killed all the time. Pp
Recently started playing the C202D from the battle pass a while ago, and that plane is an absolute banger. Great climb rate, good power and maneuverability, and passable weaponry.
@@sirshnitz2335 yeah it doesnt but im talking about real life. In game the italien tt is fine it just needs some help in some areas. But this can be done with a subtree in the future
the guns on I and II rank Italy's fighters and strike aircraft are really powerful compared to other nation's guns because of the very good belts you can unlock for them.
Should have added this as the last one, also coincides with the transport planes you mentioned… war thunder is the successor to birds of steel which is a single player game and where a majority of their content came from for aviation as that it was all only aviation… if you want to take a look at how war thunder originally was in 2013 then look at that game and it essentially looked the same
I got that TU-2 from the closed beta and also 5 of that SM-79 bombers (still some not bought, only researched) and 6 italian fighters in the German tech tree CR.42/G.50/C.200/C.202
I started playing at the Open Beta phase of the game, and yes ramming did counted as a kill for both noobs involved. The account I use today was my 2nd, that i created in mid 2013 (i used the origin one to experiment), and even on that i have many of the now hidden stuff, like all the SB-2 bombers (once were 6+1), all the Italian planes (7 bomber + 7 fighter) in the German tree (with their unlockable skins, shame that the updated M.C. 202's German skin not as good looing as the old was + the fighters are all grouped to rank 1), Gladiator Mk II + Mk IIS, all Ki-10s, D.521, the tech-tree OS2Us... ect. But I only started to take active part in events after the tanks were added (tough i was always picky what I want to unlock), but the "crafting trash" was always outside of my time, and nerve capacity, so only the lower rewards i got from those like the "F224 Lübeck" (and nothing from the last one, cuz nobody brought anything, i put - all - on sale on the market). I still demand that GAYjin should reconsider some of the older premiums' BR do to how the game changed + how it preforms among the many vehicles that got added since that premium. Yes I'm looking at the Harrier GR.1 (too), without RWR or countermeasures on 10.0 - today; + fly's like a brick!
Hah, I had no idea Tu-2 is this rare. I barely use it, but it is incredibly strong, pretty much tech tree Tu-2 (maybe even faster?) But at much lower BR
Carries are a very common sight to see in Air SB i personally prefer it over the regular airbases just because it gets me to the battle sooner, but its the carrier landing that will get ya 😂
I remember when I got the message when i logged in, I was given the tu2 for participating in the Beta. Also I remember when I bought the bf109G2 and it cost me 1.200.000 silver lions, there were insane prices back then, Also when we were in the match, we were watching what plane did the other team chose and we brought planes accordingly... brings back memories, my first ever "Historical Battles" kill was a yak 7 with the fiat G.50 freccia
on the topic of the p51, i was surprised wheni first got ahold o the italian g55 that had similar performance at the br, maybe even slightly better. i wasn't expecting such a nice aricraft compared to what came before it on the tree
What if they made it so if they ever make a game mode where everyone goes against each other, Carriers could be a vehicle that is unlock able in the naval fleet area. So people can drive the carriers that others take of off.
27:11 "This is possibly the rarest vehicle you are going to see or probably never going to see in WT" Me, who saw tis plane about a week ago in one day in maybe 5 or more battles: "nice"
Italy is my first tech.Tree. They got best prop.fighters, like Macchi fighters (C.202 folgore, c.202EC, C.205 serie 1, c.205 serie 3 with 20mm guns), they got regiani and ginas. Strong energy fighters with decent maneuver ability.
A good start to this video would be explaining wtf an 'iceberg' is in the context of this game. As a very new player, very little of this video made any sense. Kind of a pain when the title of the video *explicitly* says "the iceberg explained", when that's the one thing you didn't do...
6:19 In that gameplay footage you can see me flying in the J22! I can't really prove it in the comment so you have to take my word for it. Although I still vividly remember the frustration of the Guten_Tag player stealing two of my kills.
fun fact as an Italian pleyer that plays since 2013, befoure Gaijin relese the Italian tech tree for us (Italians) was a must unlok and play every Italian plane in the Germen tech tree. I actualli even have a Talisman on the german mc200 serie 7
yeah pretty much knew all of that except just a couple like the Tu-2 this didn't really feel like an iceberg for the most part, having planes in it is weird until they're rare
The stalinium meme is still a thing to me at least the t 72m2 Moderna can tank an Abrams shell to the turret cheeks more often than not I’m so glad I grinded it out as well
Harrier gr1 kinda sucks now ngl. Especially since it has no countermeasures and it's missiles are extremely short range, now this wouldn't be a problem if the a10 and su25 weren't a lower br than it with hundreds of countermeasures and missiles just as manoeuvrable but with far far far greater range
Bought the XP-38 and the A6M2 Ko as part of the pacific pack way back in the day for 20$, also have the Tu-2 and most of the German Italian fighters and bombers.
Like two weeks ago i got an italian tier 1 premium biplane (but it didnt have the lower wing so i guess it isnt?) from the rare vehicles event that has 2 20mm cannons instead of machine guns and it slaps
Loved the video, but it broke my heart to hear the glorious Tandem MAI refered to as a bad plane, it is very glorious and trolly in the right hands now. (JK I know how bad it can be with it's horrible engine, just love seeing someone outside of my friend group mention it for once when I'm the only one who has it between them) but it can still be very effective, from experience most players don't even know how to really attack it so they just go behind and forget about that op gunner. Lmao
I have that special a26. if you had war thunder on the ps4 when it first came out it was premium pack you could buy. amazing aircraft and for a year or two was the only a26 in game. the only other way to get it was from the alien ware laptop that came with it
I grinded for it like crazy lol, back then i had no idea how poor the flight performance of that thing was. I also has the I-301 from a long long time ago, the one with a 23 VYa.
i have and like to use the P-40E-1 TD having 3 p-40 on the same battle is amazing, and most of the times i only need the P-40E-1 TD idk why but it looks like it can tank more damage then the others.
I quit playing the game for almost a year because the Harrier Gr.1 dropped the same day that I got my F-86A5. Imagine grinding for years to finally get a good jet and be able to play Sabers vs. Migs, the ultimate in gunfighting, and then spend the entire time you're stock getting SRAAM'd every single match. I'm still pissed because the F-86A5 seems like the perfect gunfighting jet and high speed, high performance gunfighting is what I want more than anything else from War Thunder, but even today, it still faces Mig 21s, SU-7s, the Milan, and more. It's straight up unplayable and I'm pissed about it because it has the potential to be my favorite plane in the game if it weren't for 9.3 being so cancerous in an 8.3 jet.
You didnt mention that the Li-2 and Ju-52 appear in single missions as Npc's. In the mission Divide and Conquer and a Stalingrad mission that i forgot the name of and have the escort an Li-2 whilst flying a LaGG-3
The old German P-47 was removed because it was/is ahistorical. The Germans did get their hands on a P-47 but it wasn't one with the bubble cockpit, and way back when Gaijin added that plane as a premium, they only had the bubble canopy versions of the plane they had created for the American tech tree. Only much much later when the non-bubble canopy P-47s got added to the game did Gaijin finally replace the German version at the same time.
Great video. You should have included the pay to win upgrades that were suggested a few years back. That whole scandal got buried pretty hard but I managed to dig up two pages for it.
As soon as you mentioned war Thunder thinking about a game mode with air naval and ground together I immediately though of the USS Alaska obliterating the L3/33
You did not mention the mech walker shootdown event :) It was very early too, I think its way before GF were released, even probably earlier than Gaijilla.
I have a lot of rare hidden and gift vehicles like the RBT-5, P-51A, Tandem MAI, T-V, Po-2, Fw-189, etc. But I'm still salty about not getting the TB-3 and KV-220...
26:46 damn, gaijin forgot many models glass nose A-20, B-25 with less gun, nose turret B-24 SBD and TBF really need a upgrade variant such as SBD-6 and TBM-3M
I have the panzer III J1 TD, and The battle buddies twitch drop decal and camos, i left the esports stream running for 6 hours lol, its really easy to get
As someone who got the maus before it was removed (along with the panther 2, 10.5 tiger), i am sad to see them bring back the maus. Simply bc it kinda ruins the rarity of it. One can brag they had the maus bc it was rare. Now its left and right. It's kinda like when you worked hard for a something and see 12 yr olds now with it, calling it trash. Rip to when the maus was good before heat was everywhere.

USA only had three, Germany had the He.51 C-1/L, USSR has the I-15bis, UK had the Nimrod Mk.II, and Japan had the Ki-10 IIC
The cr.42 now has the Belgian skin, although not the one from the Belgian royal air force, but for the Italian air force in 1940.
@@thombrick yeah, it's the same with the German one. Italian air force skin from the Belgian front, I just misworded it
I have all of those SM, SB-2M and Yer variants. Fun to take out the rarities once in a while.
@@TomPrickVixen last weekend I realized I never spaded the OS2U variants. It was pretty painful and obvious why they were removed.
I was but a mere child during beta, so as children do, I've lost a couple accounts over the years.. could only imagine what it would be like if I kept the same email all this time
I will say, the recent economy changes have made things much better. Still not great without premium, but better
Funny thing about the Tu-2, they actually moved it up in br somewhat recently, from 4.0 to 4.3. It's pretty OP, idk the stats but it feels just like the higher br Tu-2's. I like to drop my bombs and use it as a heavy fighter
Since when was it 4.0/4.3? It's 5.3 right now and has been for a long time
@@Ypog_UA the OG Tu-2 that you can't own for not being part of the closed testing in 2013 was 4.0 because no one really used it to the point of even popping up on statistics
The original Tu-2 performs the same as the Tu-2S according to a friend of mine who played the game since 2012/13, he says that the difference is probably top speed but that's about it
@@otaviom6480 Oh, right
@@otaviom6480 i own the tu2 and id argue its better then the 2s because of its lower br
I have the red/black P-51A, the German Italian planes, the A-26C-45, and of course the 2-OP. This was a great trip down memory lane of all the shit I worked hard for, back when I played a lot more than I do now. But in the end these are just collecting dust and I never really flew them again lol.
As an Italian main with the F-104ASA and the Ariete, I feel hurt, and sad :(
F104ASA is amazing! Glad to see there is at least one other Italian main here!
@@koztac agreed, italy is underrated. im about 5 tanks away from maxing both air and ground
I remember when the 262 and Arado were the only planes that could land without gear, it was such an advantage!
(I still land with gear if I can though, it looks cooler :))
In ground RB i prefer bellylanding because if you dont damage anything It takes a lot less with cas
upsides: land with a gear you can take no damage and dead stop to hold J, you rearm way faster (only air realistic)
Down sides: belly land faster but if you take damage, you have repair it and it takes 30 seconds
@@panzersinternetadventures2178 Not to mention you might get yeeted
I've been playing since patch 1.24, there is so much more War Thunder lore. Great video though, I have always been a dedicated Italy player, and have them all unlocked for Germany. My most played plane in Germany is the MC 202 xD
Was hoping "Tonks" and "SoonTM" to be on the bottom of the Iceberg but I guess no one remembers those days anymore
mc 202 so beautifull to see and nice to fly, yet so underwelming machine guns...
Thanks for the content dude, you never dissapoint. Keep it up
Italy air is rarely played because much of the planes are overpriced on repair costs, overtiered and/or just genuinely uncompetitive. Not to mention much of the jets are simple copy & pastes.
Exactly the G91 ys is not a good jet and the repair cost is just ridiculous, 11k to repair this thing that can barely get a kill? I mean cmon now
i really hope they add the A-9, it was the competitor to the A-10 when the us airforce was trying to get a new attack/coin aircraft
(coin is counter insurgancy btw)
Yeah that'd be cool, but for what it's worth the A-10 was not originally meant to be a COIN aircraft.
We all will compete it eventually... because it's hard to complete never-updating tree :(
I have one ground vehicle (VCC 80/30) (Sidam Mistral was a pain) and just a couple of aircraft left to spade for Italy, nice to see another Italy main on here!
The reason why gaijilla wasn't so know was it was dev server only so not nearly as many people got to play it compared to the other April fools
There’s a very simple reason nobody plays Italian aircraft. The rent is too damn high! They’re bloody expensive to repair and till late WWII very underarmed.
21:30
I've been playing since 2012.
Don't forget the Italian fighters that were in the German tech tree.
It's pretty frustrating to lose against bf109 with F-84 in head on engagement. Hope this video helps a little bit at least.
you reminded me of the time i killed an F-84 with a 109 F4 or G6 lmao
use stealth ammo, give a nice burst from 1.5 to 1km away, then evade incoming fire with a barrel roll.
Yeah, you're cursed, and only you.
Yeah dude that's a problem to only a few players, the max range for base AA is 2 miles or about 4 kilometers. It shouldn't be able to hit you at any range over that, other than high tier with SAM sites.
Italy has a lot of good planes. Also in the prop tiers. They had been pretty good at building fighters in WW2 but sucked at tanks^^
Italy my beloved, breda 501, r3, hellcats, stugs, speedy boy fiat. This tech tree doesn't dissapoint

Oh the harrier at 9.3 was cute.
Anyone remembers yak-23 at 7.3 against F8F?
Or the F2H Banshee releasing at 6.7
the guns on I and II rank Italy's fighters and strike aircraft are really powerful compared to other nation's guns because of the very good belts you can unlock for them.
Yes I'm looking at the Harrier GR.1 (too), without RWR or countermeasures on 10.0 - today; + fly's like a brick!
love the p51A, great little 4 browning p51 with a nice 3.0 battle rating, absolute beast with great belts.
I play the ariete a good bit. It's currently my favorite plane only bad thing is aim 9l since the missile over buff.
What if they made it so if they ever make a game mode where everyone goes against each other, Carriers could be a vehicle that is unlock able in the naval fleet area. So people can drive the carriers that others take of off.
theOrangeDoom having unique stuff is a bit of a shame, knowing he'll never come back to that
I have the Tu-2 and couldn't remember or figure out why I had it because I never see anyone with it. I knew it's rare but I had no clue it's that rare
Also, a new C-47 Skytrain model was introduced fairly recently - you can see it in the American test flight map
Guess you wanted to say that the Tandem MAI is "terrific" and not "terrible". At least I really like mine.
27:11 "This is possibly the rarest vehicle you are going to see or probably never going to see in WT"
Me, who saw tis plane about a week ago in one day in maybe 5 or more battles: "nice"
Crazy that I remember most of the stuff from 2013 and up. Good video.
You forgot the old main menu music 😭😭😭 brings tears to my eyes
A good start to this video would be explaining wtf an 'iceberg' is in the context of this game. As a very new player, very little of this video made any sense. Kind of a pain when the title of the video *explicitly* says "the iceberg explained", when that's the one thing you didn't do...
Anyone else remember that fun little time back in Beta where it was common to be in your biplane and face jets??
6:19
In that gameplay footage you can see me flying in the J22!
I have the Tu-2…. I didn’t know it was rare lol I signed up for WT back during the open beta in December of 2012
yeah pretty much knew all of that except just a couple like the Tu-2
this didn't really feel like an iceberg for the most part, having planes in it is weird until they're rare
The stalinium meme is still a thing to me at least the t 72m2 Moderna can tank an Abrams shell to the turret cheeks more often than not I’m so glad I grinded it out as well
I think you forgot triple smoke which you could only get via tournament's or the first ever twitch drops
Remember my first sim / realistic match spent 45 minutes looking for the enemy & ran out of fuel.
now we need the ground forces iceberg
Harrier gr1 kinda sucks now ngl. Especially since it has no countermeasures and it's missiles are extremely short range, now this wouldn't be a problem if the a10 and su25 weren't a lower br than it with hundreds of countermeasures and missiles just as manoeuvrable but with far far far greater range
I wasn't playing when the Harrier came out but the videos from that time are ridiculous
There’s actually another hidden AI only plane, in the single mission “The Siege of Bastogne” the C-47 appears as your main objective to destroy.
Bought the XP-38 and the A6M2 Ko as part of the pacific pack way back in the day for 20$, also have the Tu-2 and most of the German Italian fighters and bombers.
Bottom of the iceberg, the funny ships in hangar are actually playable in a game mode called Naval
Like two weeks ago i got an italian tier 1 premium biplane (but it didnt have the lower wing so i guess it isnt?) from the rare vehicles event that has 2 20mm cannons instead of machine guns and it slaps
I use the p-40 twitch drop when I'm playing around its br
I like the camo alot
Loved the video, but it broke my heart to hear the glorious Tandem MAI refered to as a bad plane, it is very glorious and trolly in the right hands now. (JK I know how bad it can be with it's horrible engine, just love seeing someone outside of my friend group mention it for once when I'm the only one who has it between them) but it can still be very effective, from experience most players don't even know how to really attack it so they just go behind and forget about that op gunner. Lmao
I have that special a26. if you had war thunder on the ps4 when it first came out it was premium pack you could buy. amazing aircraft and for a year or two was the only a26 in game. the only other way to get it was from the alien ware laptop that came with it
Great Video, I really enjoyed your Merkava reviews.
The old roadmaps are the truly fascinating niche rare stuff here
I am lucky to have the D.521. I am not sure if I have seen one in-game ever.
I grinded for it like crazy lol, back then i had no idea how poor the flight performance of that thing was. I also has the I-301 from a long long time ago, the one with a 23 VYa.
In sim their are missions centered around carriers like finding them, blowing them up and such.
Damn this is interesting! I've learnt a lot from this video. Keep up the great work dude!
Similar as the roadmaps: There Was in a single in game trailer a V1 visibel. Not many know about it
i have and like to use the P-40E-1 TD having 3 p-40 on the same battle is amazing, and most of the times i only need the P-40E-1 TD idk why but it looks like it can tank more damage then the others.
I have no idea why you'd space climb in a Arado C-3.
That thing is amazing at bullying fighters
You didnt mention that the Li-2 and Ju-52 appear in single missions as Npc's. In the mission Divide and Conquer and a Stalingrad mission that i forgot the name of and have the escort an Li-2 whilst flying a LaGG-3
Legend has it that under this iceberg lies the old wildcat from the pre alpha benchmark test.🙂
Love ur vids btw keep up with the great content
The old German P-47 was removed because it was/is ahistorical. The Germans did get their hands on a P-47 but it wasn't one with the bubble cockpit, and way back when Gaijin added that plane as a premium, they only had the bubble canopy versions of the plane they had created for the American tech tree. Only much much later when the non-bubble canopy P-47s got added to the game did Gaijin finally replace the German version at the same time.

I have most of the old planes, got the Old Guard title also. Tu-2 is nice, had to dogfight FW190s in it once cause got shot down in La-7
As soon as you mentioned war Thunder thinking about a game mode with air naval and ground together I immediately though of the USS Alaska obliterating the L3/33
Screw this game... making me grind top tier for what feels like an eternity just to fuck me over with a stupid repair cost and reward ratio.
You did not mention the mech walker shootdown event :) It was very early too, I think its way before GF were released, even probably earlier than Gaijilla.
