As a Tacoma owner, if owners give good feedback with these after 1 year, I’m gonna buy a trail boss. These are sharp looking trucks!
I’m waiting to see what the new Tacoma is like after the new one comes out. Definitely going to be between this truck and the new Tacoma TRD OR.
Same. I want to know if this new 8 speed transmission is better than the old one that was prompting lawsuits.
I’m pissed I bought a 2022. Was unaware how much they were changing this year
Stick to the Tacoma trust me I’m a Chevy tech we are already seeing bad things on these 🤣
@@erictech201 how are you seeing bad things on them? As far as I can find mainstream production doesn't start on them until Jan 25th, a few days out yet.
Would it really kill them to include some fog lights?
Just curious, how often do you use fog lamps? I use them as much as the horn, not at all.
@@trewright1482 way to defend the addition of lights that are
They do. Zr2
@@trewright1482 I use them constantly in the winter. They light up the snow banks alongside the roads. Surely you aren't suggesting that because you don't use them nobody else does.
Or cruise control on base models 🙄
Subbed! I'm so glad I got to see more of the Trail Boss, especially in this color since it's the exact one I'm going to be purchasing. Everyone focuses on the ZR2 so seeing the Trail Boss getting some love and spotlight is awesome. Thanks for the upload!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!
These new Colorado's really look impressive. Finally don't look so cheap. Powertrain seems impressive too.
lots more features on this truck that were not covered for only a month old video. this truck almost sells itself.... really nice!
Saw them at the car show. The Z71 which was what I was aiming for looked less aggressive in person and the TB looked more significant and robust that I expected. But spending that coin with no possibility of heated seats or LED lights is a real trade off…
You can upgrade to LED headlights yourself pretty easy.
You can get the heated seats option also there’s an option for heated steering wheel too
@@lompartinot on the TB
Ordered mine well before I realized the Harvest Bronze Metallic doesn't actually look green. Sort of a deal breaker for me tbh.
Excellent review. LA auto show look quite busy. Both of Colorados look great. Good redesign by Chevrolet. I have never owned a truck, but these look great. Thanks guy's. Currently I own a 22 Equinox LT, great Suv, Chevrolet has really stepped up their models.
Would look a lot better with out so much plastic up front, everything else looks great, under stand it’s the base but it should still be an option for painted front bumper for a +30k truck
Yeah they call that version the z71
The trail boss is definitely not the base, and if you think it’s going to be $30k you’re in for a shock.
30k is stupid cheap for a truck.
If this was painted black, it would look a lot better. Benefit to plastic would be no rock chips. great looking truck and TB model is very low 40s which is a pretty attractive price point.
Excellent coverage on these vehicles, yall are definitely keeping us informed! Im liking the overall design but I am disappointed in the incandescent lighting. Can't wait for full reviews!
My favorite pickup truck! Nice review bro.
I have been wanting to get a nice look at this color, looks good on the trail boss. Thanks for sharing
That bronze metallic paint looks pretty sweet. I saw it in the builder online for the silverado and was unsure about it, but it looks awesome in the vid. Thanks!
Unfortunately it doesn’t look this good in natural light. There are pics of it on gmauthority and it looks brown.
I have ordered this color. If it doesn't look good in daylight should I go with glacier blue.
By using the same fender flares as the GMC Canyon, the flat spot just draws attention to Chevy getting cheap and omitting the clearance lights.
Totaly agree i heard some other channel say they really like the styling lol. I ordered the chevy but really bummed out about that decision they made
This will be the mid-size truck King for at least, a short period of time
Thoughts on the upcoming Ranger?
David -The Ranger Raptor will be in a league of its own. It will be the only mid-size truck that will arguably, be considered a Super Truck.
Until 2024 when the new Tacoma comes out.
@Greg K following colorado with the 4cyl Turbo. And still less comfortable and less cabin space. Hopefully they do something about the less power thing too.
Falling more in love ❤ with this Truck every time I see it,…and it was love at 1st sight
Best looking midsize truck in the history of the universe.
Excellent video!
I just bought a new '22 Z71 Trail Boss...love it..I do like the lines of the 23, but I think I like the previous engine better......
I’d like to see a winter package on the trail boss for heated seats and wheel
Pretty sure you can get hested seat and side mirrors but didn't see steering wheel
@@gordmonteath6090not on the TB
I like the Chevy Colorado, it’s very nice and lots of space, I love pickup trucks
That green model is AWESOME! Great coverage
It's a beautiful thing knowning you have the truck that everybody tries to live up to.
this is what the last-gen colorado should have looked like
The H.O engine will have 430 lbft of torque not 410. All trims are available to order except the ZR2. I ordered a Z71 a few days ago.
Excellent review! Thanks
Great review! Keep up the good work guys 👍🏼
Thank you!
pisses me off that all these videos are out there but chevy STILL NOT allow you to build and price online still.
Love the new overall look, but how in the hell does Chevy get away with not making LED Headlights Standard? Our base model Toyota Corolla has LED headlights for crying out loud lol
Easy and cheap fix to do yourself at least.
I love the look of the new Colorado and ranger but they never addressed the back seats it would have been awesome if the seat bottoms folded up like f150. Or even were configured like Toyota Tacoma.
@@_-Montana-_ do they fold up and lock creating a flat rear floor?
@@_-Montana-_ see if rather see seats like jeep gladiator Honda Ridgeline or any of the 1500-3500 rear seats if I need cubby's I'd build a partial cubby. I need those rear seats intact 60/40 so I can stick a third person plus my dog .
I remember 4 years ago when I bought my Tacoma I also looked at the Chevy and test drove one and personally I liked the comfort of the seats better and the overall handling of the Tacoma better and I'm still happy with my decision !! 😄
I love the ZR2
That color and model are exactly what I will be ordering when released for orders. I love it!
Ordering has been open since 11/10. The only model not available to order yet is the ZR2. All other models are available to order now. I ordered a Z71. They start building them Feb 6th.
@@coop4274 I only see the 2022 model year and the old body style. Maybe I missed the order window.
@@scottcunnien755 then your dealer doesn’t know what they’re doing lol. I ordered a new 2023 Colorado this past sat. You do realize the only way to order a new vehicle is at the dealer right? You can’t order a new car online like Amazon lmao.
@@coop4274 No I did not realize that. I was actually trying to order it off amazon. Boy is my face red. I want to thank you for helping me clear that one up!
@@scottcunnien755 you’re welcome. Where were you trying to order it from? Did you go to the dealer to order and they told you it wasn’t a ton order yet?
Great review!
Thanks!
Congrats on finally making these look good. Wasn't a fan of how they looked until this design. I quite like these.
About time we see a different color
It's almost a full size pickup instead of mid-size
It’s that the harvest bronze colour?
what color is that trail boss?
I THINK THE CHEVY COLORADO IS UP THERE WITH THE TACOMA AM A TOYOTA TACOMA MAN BUT MY NEXT CHOICE WOULD BE THE CHEVY COLORADO GREAT VIDEO I LIKE IT KEEP MAKEING MORE
Thanks!
For me reliability, longevity, and cost of ownership supersedes all else. This leaves Tacoma as the correct choice.
@@billsoderholm3125 you haven't paid attention recently. Since production shifted to Mexico, that hasn't been the case.
waiting a few years for all the bugs to be worked out of the new ones and then ill be switching to a trail boss from my f150 i think, really disappointed to see garbage halogen lights in in though, no vehicle should have those these days even base models.
These redesigns still rocking the halogens to gatekeep LEDs to the other trims 😅
I want one.
How is the shudder transmisson? Is it better before?
In 2019 they came out with a new transmission fluid that pretty much corrected that issue. This is a second gen of the 8 speed so it also has newer mapping and other components to reduce the other issue with hard shifting. Most of the bad stories you hear are from older colorados that shuddered too long and then developed bad torque convertors.
What color is that? Is it the harvest bronze one?
Yep
Why would they not make the LED headlights standard on all trims!? It’s 2023… that really is a bummer for the Trail Boss trim that you can’t even upgrade it to LED
But you can do it yourself for cheaper afterward.
I think you only get the under body cams on the ridiculous 66 k version correct me if I'm wrong.
You can get it as an option on the TB, it’s part of a package that costs around 1k I believe.
Have they fixed the transmission shutter in the 8 speed?
So they say.
Does it drive like a sports car? Braking on freeway
I like the new canyon
ANY ACTUAL MPG REPORT YET? I READ THEY ARE 5 TO 600 POUNDS HEAVIER?
Not yet. But we will be testing a production model out on the streets in a couple weeks, so stay tuned
That green color is sweet! Lame they skimped on the 8" screen and plastic steering wheel for 40K!
Maybe I'll get one when my Taco dies 15+ years from now.
It is ready no need for more modification
Is that the harvest bronze metallic color
Yes
Idc what anyone says I’m getting this truck
No 6’ bed. No deal
Buh bye.
Nice truck, but probably waaay outta budget for nearly every American.
They should have done the glass black on the front grill like the trail boss Silverado’s. That flat black looks cheap
Looks like a mini Silverado.
Is that lower air damn removable on the trail boss?
Yeah, why does GM keep doing that?
@@HiPlains1it’s for fuel economy. They make it easy to remove though.
W incandescent turn signals 🙄. Why for the price of cars nowadays can we just not use led standard!
Loved my tacoma but couldn’t even put a small lunch box on the floor behind the front seat and I’m 5’9”. Seat should
Fold up like most full sized trucks. Traded for a tundra, not sure yet. The new GMC Canyon At4 looks sweet but probably looking at 3K a year in repairs
It's the 21st, halogen bulbs are so 1990's. No matter what trim level LED's "corporate bags."
Halogens can be better in colder climates as they melt snow. LEDs do not.
Nice truck
Why the baby duramax not anymore avaible?
Can u get leather in this trim
No
2023 Chevrolet Colorado WT Trail Boss Crew Cab 4X4!
Unfortunately that isn’t an available model. The w/t will be the cheap entry level and the trail boss is right below the ZR2. They are separate models.
Coop trail boss isn't second to ZR2 its lower down
@@gordmonteath6090 it goes w/t L/t trail boss Z71 then ZR2. I already ordered a Z71 about 3 weeks ago.
Just can’t get behind the one engine option.
Love my 2.8 LB Diesel
But your duramax only tops out at 369 lbs/torque. Top tune on this one pumps out 430 lbs. The HP on the baby max was abysmal at 181. The 2.7 puts out 310 HP. And you don't have to worry about the DEF, emissions and high priced diesel etc.. Only way the duramax was worth it is if you deleted it. And for many they won't pass emissions if they do that. Enjoy your truck, because you will never see a mid size diesel again.
At the moment only two midsized trucks I would consider is the two with a manual transmission, so TRD OFFROAD it is!
This new one yeah it does best out the current Tacoma however we gotta wait and see what Toyota brings out next year hopefully
I wouldn't mind the Chevy designers work hand in hand with Toyota engineers.
Can you add a sunroof to it?
Yes it's an option now
For the price that the trailboss most likely will cost there is no excuse to have all the cheap looking black plastic on the front end. Also no excuse to have incandescent bulbs instead of LED's. This is 2023 we are talking about.
I like the flat black the contrast is good and should be easy to scrub bugs off without damaging shiny surfaces. Got a white one coming
This guy owns a prius doesn't he.haha!
The old one or the new one? I need this information to gauge the quality of this insult
God it’s beautiful
So... Big touch screen and tiny bed.
I don't think the smaller trucks have been dead its that the manufacture kills them when your price out a full size that is $100 less a month so it doesn't make much sense to go smaller unless you're parking in the garage
Better mpg, easier driving in city and parking in lots and way easier off road. Gee, you're right.... makes more sense.
@el Ché I guess thats why they sell so well. Oh wait....
@Mr Hockey again, they sell because they were the best before. People just assume now and do what they're told just like the Vax. Do without thinking. Ignore the reports. Data and facts that show they aren't what they once were. Go ahead and look for yourself. If you do, you'll be shocked to learn they're below colorado. Or, continue on ignorance. Buh bye, now.
@el Ché wow a vax comment now I know I'm dealing with intelligence.
@Mr Hockey well, if you feel guilt, that's your had for being a sheeple. Don't blame others for your poor choices. But crying seems to be your shchtick. Crybaby gonna cry. You do you.
The new Colorado, and new ford ranger are going to blow Toyota out of the water if they don't hurry up and come out with something excellent. The zr2 and raptor trims both look absolutely incredible. The current TRD Pro won't be able to compete. At the very least Toyota, make sure taller people can fit in your trucks lol.
They have been doing the same thing for 20 years buddy I doubt your opinion is gonna knock them off the throne but keep dreaming
@@bmurphy386 No need to fanboy lol. I've owned multiple Toyota trucks. They're reliable and there's a wide variety of aftermarket parts. That being said, they have nothing to compete with the new ZR2 and Ranger Raptor. I assume they will come out with something, because they have to, and more competition is better anyway. Their newest generation is just too small though. Tacoma's are made for people who are 5'11", which just doesn't work for a lot of people, including myself.
@@randyhartwell974 Yeah that's more like it.
@Hector Pineda toyota knows there are those who don't care and will shot the old line: still the taco for me. Even while consumer reports and reviews have the Colorado rated higher. It's funny. Taco has less power, is less comfortable, less technology.... and quality has dipped since production moved to Mexico. But yall ignore it. Good luck.
I like my colorado but the price for new ones is stupid high I like the tech added but UT shouldn't be a new thing should be standard since the start like being g jeyless.
No handle on the drivers side
Boba Fett color i see
why would chevy only make one size truck?
Nice truck. How much? $60-$70k?
Tacoma > Colorado any day
Not according to independent reviews which have colorado rated higher.
GM 8 speed: Hand Grenade with the pin pulled hold on tight
Iceman still living in 2019 when that was corrected.
There is. I think it will be popular.
I clicked subscribe and like. I wish you good health.

Thank you!
dude, why didn't you walk all the way around the ZR2? .... ugh
About a week after release they'll be saying it needs a refresh for 24
You think it has a face only a mother could love huh? 😂
That cheap plastic front end will be the reason I keep my 2021 WT.
They should make a manual transmission option
Exactly! Make it slower, thirstier, and produce more pollution with a manual.
In short, No.
Waaay too much plastic up front in the TrailBoss!
It's actually carbon steel
Cargo bed too small to own.
Where are these junk piles. Haven't seen 1 on the road yet?
They just started producing them. Bobo, like saying where are the refreshed Tacoma.
No, it does not.
Too much plastic up front
Woman in purple, nice figure. Truck also. Ty for the review I will definitely consider Chevy . Call my dealer for a test drive.
BTW for 2022 Colorado price $26,135 - $45,200 MSRP. See if they can keep it here
Theyre way higher
The best part is that GM is still using their defective 8 speed auto in it.
I believe it’s a new one actually
@@BIGGIEBAG-XL I read it's the same 8 speed but they've "done the best they can" to fix the problems of the past. Pretty pathetic. There was literally a quote to that effect on GMAuthority by a GM employee.
I think the old 8 sp in the camaro people fixed it with a tune. Hopefully gm reprogrammed the slushbox
@@ttown918 you don't pay attention. That was changed in 2019. Gotta read some new reports.
@@elche1976 Wrong. It's still a problem in recent makes and models Moreover, here is a nice example of why GM sucks. The new Colorado Chief Engineer, Nick Katcherian recently stated (as to the new 2023 Colorado and A8):
Whole quote: “We know what the customers have been complaining about on the current generation and we fixed everything that we could within reason.”
Acknowledging GM customer complaints on pre-2023 8 speeds were legitimate.
Acknowledging 2023+ 8 speeds will continue to have problems because there were so many problems they couldn’t fix them all.
100% inexcusable to continue to sell a product that you know has issues and that you know you can’t fix - when you have an alternative product (10 speed) ready to go without these issues.
Wake up, pinhead.
Looks is not equal to Reliability, that's why people get Toyota.🤣
Really are you speaking from experience, I have owned a Z71 Colorado for the last 5 years, no reliability issues at all as reliable as our Lexus RX!
@@happyseal0079 Same here, we have 2 colorados for our construction use. No issues, and we drive them hard!
