I've gotta add a few more wins for Count's 'scam' in mission 19. One, Greg Chun's voice acting gets me hype every time I see this moment. Two, the reason he knew that he could do it was because he has a radio in his plane. It's only mentioned in a few missions, a particularly fun example is if you take too long fighting Scream and Rage. Count will realize that they can hear your chatter despite it being encrypted, so he'll switch over to his radio to strategize with you. Here, he's picked up on Avril's and Cossette's conversation, and he hears them breaking the Arsenal Bird's power source, so he knows the shield will go down as long as they wait for a little while longer. Three, and this one is just speculation on my part - why he went for it at all. I don't have any proof for this, but I think he felt morale dropping with the shield getting in the way, especially as they were getting picked apart by the drones while waiting for another chance that might never even come. When he rushes in yelling like an idiot, he gets everyone's attention and lets them know that it's not over yet. After the shield finally disappears, it gives everyone back their agency in the fight - they don't have to wait around until they get shot, they can still fight. Of course, I might be reading too much into it, for all I know he thought it'd be funny. Also, add a win for Tabloid being a real one. F**k it, two.
I think you're right about your third point. Count is full of himself when you first enter Spare Squadron, but his character develops from an asshole to a guy who's there for you, got your back. On the final mission, I believe he did the tunnel run to see it through to the end with Trigger, rather than being the hero himself.
Also, remember how Bandog said Count isn't good at being a fraud? Well, he technically pulls a perfectly successful scam/fraud moment here. He's not the actual reason it went down, but to everyone listening to him, it seems he was the reason. He lived up to his name as Bandog would put it haha. Of course, this wasn't a bad kinda scam/fraud but still a scam/fraud moment haha.
I absolutely intend on making that video sooner or later. While it wasn't my first Ace Combat game ever, AC5 has a special place in my heart since that was the first of the Holy Trinity PS2 games I played.
2:51: "...Okay, and where do you want that food delivered?" "The Osean LRSSG base in central Osea" "WHERE?" 56:30: Not quite. IRL, most internet and telecommunications traffic flows through undersea fiber optic cables, not satellites. 1:57:06: Anyone else feel like that painting was inspired by that one statue in (now) Volgagrad where the kids are dancing around a crocodile?
I like that in Stonehenge Defensive when it’s time to choose between the rocket and helicopter teams if you change course to go after a different targets you get some very interesting dialogue from Count and Cyclops 1 that indicates that Count is still really cutthroat and eager to step over the player for promotion.
Siren song from fleet destruction is my favorite song because the elegant chanting like sirens singing to sailors especially as you sink the fleet then that epic guitar rift OH MY GOD I LOVE IT
Well done! As a huge fan of Ace Combat 7, I'm glad to see that you put this together, and would love to see another video like this for others in the series!
Glad to hear you enjoyed! Like I said in the outro of this video, I'm happy to see this project finished and published, especially given how much of a struggle it was at times to work with my editing software for this one. It's going to be a good while before I make another video like this again, but I do absolutely intend on making another Everything Great About video for another Ace Combat game. It's just a matter of deciding which one to do next and then finding something else to post in the midst of the large gap that will be present when I get to work on that one.
You earned a new subscriber on the Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, but I gotta say: this vídeo, both first and this part, are f'ing AMAZING. You should, definetely, do something to each of the Ace Combat series game. Especially Zero and 5: Unsung War. Also, in the end of this vídeo, I almost cried, f* me.
This was an awesome video. I loved every second of this game. There’s been few times that I’ve been as satisfied with a game’s ending as this. When I realized what “skies unknown” meant, that the painting in the elevator showed tranquility and multiple elevators. I was taken a back in a way I couldn’t believe, you trudge through constant war only to find an extremely hope filled possible future. Seriously, there is just something so cool about that space elevator being the first of many gateways to the stars for humanity.
Coming from your Ace Combat 3 video, that “Can you hear me?” at the end was spooky. Great videos by the way, surprised I haven’t come across your channel before now.
The DLC missions went so hard and I appreciate that. They also melted my Xbox because they were much harder on the processor. Learned how to gut the machine and apply new thermal paste so I could finish them lol Also if you're on your game and match pace with the different parts of Hush during mission 20 you feel like an absolute god of the sky
24:56 Hey I actually studied this in college, I might be able to shed some light on it. Basically: maths shows what we can expect from situations. It was part of a data assignment which was weird for my course, as I was doing mechanical engineering.
Fun fact with stonehenge. Because that 1 railgun had a power failure it was ignored when isaf went to blow it up as it was abandoned and not needed as too much to repair. Now that one turret is still in working order just needs wd40 and a battery
Can I just say how good thr dlc was. It was only 3 missions, but the best part was hearing the squad actively participate in the discussion about how they gonna approach the mission. Like Huxian saying to clemens about fleet in mission one and like debriefing were so goated to hear the squads verdict after every mission. It really nice because we get character such as skald and lanza who doesn't much character building in the main campain.I wish they do this more in next ace combat game.
Like on the part 1, I just wanted to clear up some miscredited songs: Stonehenge Defensive, Dragon Breath and Lost Kingdom by Tetsukazu Nakanishi Magic Spear I by Ryo Watanabe Werewolf by Hiroshi Okubo and props for getting the composers right for the DLC tracks!
These videos are some of the most entertaining stuff I’ve seen in a long time Edit: Assuming that you haven’t started the next one yet, I’d recommend doing Zero next, since that game is short enough to be doable in a decent amount of time yet still has a ton of great stuff about it
One detail that is only sadly left as a side story is the reason why Kei Nagase became an astronaut and the reason why the space elevator was made. Basically the Space Elevator also had the function of been the docking port of the Pilgrim 1. The Pilgrim 1 mission was meant to detour another Ullyses type asteroid coming on Strangereal way. Since one of the things that happen was that same asteroid the one who plunge the economy of the world to an endless cycle of war. Of course Belkan has a hand on this because all of the proyects they been doing are related to stop the Ullyses in conjunct with other nations (the Stonehenge, the Megalith type bases, Chandeliere railgun, the Excalibur, even the SOLG).
Honestly, when I first heard of AC it was because of AC7, and AC7 ended up being the first AC game I every played, before I never had an interest in flying outside of the engineering, but since I played it, Project Wingman and some more realistic games like VTOL VR, my heart and soul longs for the sky. It changed me in ways only very few games ever have or could.
2:37 since this is Ace combat and Assault Horizon or even Joint Assault took place in the real earth that means our earth and Strangereal are both in the same universe you only need a space shuttle to travel to it
I could be wrong but I think the the strangereal ace combat games exist in those versions as games. I forget which one but there's a line along the lines of "this ain't ace combat bro" when dogfighting
Thirty wins for Huxian post Anchorhead Raid. Ten for being the violently protective Ace Combat waifu, ten for being the played by the original Jilly Badass, Michelle Ruff, and ten for her also playing Reiko Hinomoto. Huxian may not be Reiko Nagase's little big sister but she'll do just fine.
Fair enough :P I'm saving some of those references for the AC3 review. Speaking of the AC3 review, check out my community posts tab to see what video is coming out next ;)
@@ThunderousFolf cool. and if i may nit pick a bit... ahem. every single AC3 review iv' seen, even the very good ones never mention the fact the "Wyvern" made its debeut in ac3. its called the "XFA-36A" Game but its basically the "Wyvern", it's been bugging me forever. and since im on a roll i'l mention how the "black raven" is the evolution of the "Raven" from AC7. you can actually see how the plane evolved: first came the morgan, then the falkon, folowed by the raven, its a byplane already and finally the black raven (unless we get another plane in AC8).
You forgot to add the mission briefer from mission 11-15 as a win, because at least in EN voice, they hired the same VA from AC5. Making a character comeback from old games is a win, but having the same VA to voice them in the new game is far more win to me. Also the revelation of Belka behind all of this at least before M19 cutscene yeah its dissapointing. At least the devs can give us hints for old players to figure it out other than Schroeder's German name. Also this franchise could use more in depth "Realism" like it has before which is only necessary to reach a wider Audience and evolve the series/give it longevity even though the "hardcore fans" object to that ?
I think that the series leaning a bit more on the realism side of things would drive players away since it would be less welcoming to casual players. The reason Ace Combat fans like the arcade flight action style the series is known for is because on top of providing more intense gameplay, it's more accessible since players don't have to worry about as many nuances and small details that could affect their performance. I know you're not saying Ace Combat should become a full sim, just that it should introduce some more sim-like elements, but I still feel Ace Combat should continue to fully embrace its arcade flight action flavor.
@@ThunderousFolf Well thanks for being understanding, I believe it has embraced its Arcade style plenty already Yet Also Embraced More Detailed elements seemingly Every other Title, And That is what gets me worked up Ace3/Ace04/AceX/Ace6 all had similar Flight physics and Were the Best at Realistic detail also 5/Zero had that Sonic Boom vapor effect that many miss! And yeah fuck the clock.
"It's ok! The shell will miss!"
Random farmers in Osea bout to be hit like in my country a few months ago.
This made me realise the ending of AC7 is basically the ending of the international version of AC3, but actually good this time.
The fact that there’s only 4 Aircraft in Strider Squadron, really gives me Razgriz Flashbacks
