    Bro, thanks for the video. This makes all the sense in the world 🌎 now. I slap it on while my phone is at 100% and it lasts 7-9 hours before it’s dead but my phone is left at 90-91% after I take it off. Also be sure to have optimized battery charging turned on. It will help the battery pack last longer during use through the day. 😊

    Please correct me if I’m wrong, but it sounds like its use case is more like the drop tanks for fighter planes. For longer missions, extra fuel tanks would be put under the wings instead of bombs or missiles. The planes would go through the fuel in the tanks first, keeping the inboard tanks full. If the situation got hot or the drop tanks were empty, they’d be jettisoned and the planes would have completely full fuel tanks. Am I understanding that correctly?

  • @andyH_England

    Great stuff, finally someone that understands this device. I have a few and got them discounted and they mean I can go a week without ever worrying about charging, just use one till empty whilst my phone stays at 90% and swap out, and if I can recharge the empty pack!
    Now if you do not like the extra bulk for 24/7 use then do not get it, but I used a Smart Battery case on my iPhone 11 PM so it is not an issue and I like the grip. It will preserve the life of the internal battery and probably save £60 every two years having to buy a new one, my iPhone 13 PM is still at 100% and looking at the stats it has had less than 10 full battery cycles since Sept 2022! That means the internal battery will take maybe a century to reach 80% capacity (my iPhone 11 PM stayed at 100% after two years and remains so as my satnav).
    MagSafe is the future and Apple has created a great protocol and should have all the patents so Samsung cannot copy this time! Still aways to go before they can go portless but it will happen and Magsafe will be the proprietary way of doing it.

    Finally bought one. If you're using the flash, put some black tape on the spot on the battery where the camera is. That light from the flash will bounce of the white surface of the battery causing a white blur on your low-light/flash photos.

    It’s so strange that the lil 2.5w increase gives us so much better performance… especially considering the wired charging can go up to 20w at the lower battery percentage… some phones gave over 100w chargers in some of the other flagship phones

    • @marcochavane3124
      @marcochavane3124 2 роки тому +5

      True. I think the issue is that the phone was consuming more than the 5W charger so people's battery levels were still dropping.
      Must have been right on that edge of maintaining and charging.

  • @boritacomasr5609
    @boritacomasr5609 2 роки тому +41

    This battery pack is basically an extender not really a
    power bank. This is supposed to stay on your phone
    from the beginning of the day when you take it off the
    charger. It basically sticks around 89-91 percent of
    charge all day until the pack runs out. Once your
    phone hits the 88% mark it starts to charge up again
    until it hits 91%. Then it stops charging; uses that
    time to cool off and stuff as you know wireless
    charger heats up. Since it's a 5w and now is 7.5w charge it won't heat
    up massively. The reason you get less charge on the
    max is because the max has a larger battery thus
    taking more juice from the battery to charge up.
    Which is the reason the max only gets 40% juice from
    the pack. While the normal 13 and 13 pro get about 70
    percent of charge.

  • @sterlingroberts6240

    I stand behind Apple’s decision to release it with a mobile charge rate of 5 watts because that’s better for the battery, especially when people inevitably stick their phones in their pockets, bags, purses, or when they use the phone while charging. The extra heat generated by wireless charging is compounded in these types of situations.
    They were absolutely correct, and I believe it was the right thing to do, even in people screamed bloody murder. The only improvement I could see is having the battery charge at a higher rate(up to 15W) when the phone is not in use and well ventilated. The phone would then throttle the battery pack as soon as it gets warm, and go back to 5W when in use or performing heavy background tasks. Ideally, it would have a toggle in Control Center(or a prompt when the battery is connected) to enable a boost to the mobile charge speed, but otherwise keep the charger at 5W.

Now when you're getting low and don't have infrastructure to charge, then you slap it on and it's SUPPOSED to charge your phone. i love my anker one. after having the apple one. cheaper bigger battery and kickstand however i got the white one as it was the only one available and its getting so dirty on the sides 🥺🥺 i wonder what i can use to clean it. otherwise i need to see if theyll let me switch it out for the black one 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ i do love how all the apple stuff integrates with magsafe though and shows you indicators on the screen. great review!

      MagSafe is patented by Apple so Samsung will not be able to copy. I heard OPPO announce something similar a year ago but nothing came of it and I suspect Apple Lawyers wrote a nice letter. The Anker is not Magsafe, it is just magnetic. I am not sure any OEM pays Apple to use MagSafe yet.

      I have used one since Oct 2021 and my battery health remains at 100%. I had the Smart battery pack on the iPhone 11 Pro Max before that and after two years it was still at 100%. It trickle charges at worse and passthrough mainly so it acts just like you have a 7000mAh battery (iPhone 13 Pro Max).

    Happy 12 mini user here. I wish it would work for me but even with a software update won’t fix the only problem I have with it.
    The way you’re talking about using it is the way I really wanted to use it but it doesn’t have a ring of magnets on the outside. Not so I can charge the battery pack but because I want to be able to stack my wallet onto the other side.
    The Apple wallet has been a life changing experience for me, and since they won’t work together I have to choose 1. I choose the wallet.
