"Squad lost. Deploying full replacements"
And just like that, they're forgotten. The grim reality of war
@@jpjfrey5673every helldiver accepts that they may likely die, none of them are forgotten, for every helldiver lost we will kill 1000 bots and 5000 bugs.
@@mclovin2408 yeah. According to the propagated "truth"
Reality is much grimmer. As the comparison shows
@@jpjfrey5673 the comparison fails to show the justice that followed their heroic sacrifice.
@@mclovin2408 there wasn't any to begin with. You sign up, you survive training (20% is funny), you die within the next few minutes of deployment, you get replaced. "Justice" would be glassing Super Earth
The fact that we never see the Helldiver with the MG die suggests that perhaps the reason we’re hearing about this story is because of that one diver who lived to tell the tale
Haven’t you seen war movies? The guy with the MG either dies first in glory, or never dies.
It’s the curse and blessing of the MG. Liberty praise I can get one of my own someday 🥹
@@Ublivion01 Riben from Saving Private Ryan is a prime example of the latter case because he was the sole survivor of the ranger squad and he had a BAR an LMG
As someone who semi regually uses the MG and take on hordes of bots yes its a coin flip you die first or you blaze away in glory
@@Wildgamer2205 animal mother from Full Metal Jacket as well never died and had a BIG ASS gun
We do see four bodies, MG guy tries to call extract and never makes it past the first button.
The part that hit the hardest for me was when she was staring at the man she loves laying on the bed and it just cuts to him laying dead but in the same position. Shows the reality of how badly things can go and the only thing you are left with is memories. 😢
It's made worse when you consider how young Helldivers generally are. They canonically enlist at an average age of 18-19 and have a roughly one in five chance of surviving their first drop. They're kids, hopped up on propaganda and patriotic fervour, then thrown into a meat-grinder for the benefit of powerful people, far away who will never see anything of the horrors the Helldivers drop into.

@@AidanClutterany World War. And nowadays.....Ukraine.......
Plenty of Russian and Ukrainian kids are sent to war, to feed into the ego of one man and line the pockets of another country
She died not long after. It leaves little room to endure through grief.
@@weldonwin i have to report you to the Ministry of Truth
The Terminid front is where Helldivers go to become real soldiers.
The Automaton front is where Helldivers go to become real legends.
Super Earth shall never die ✊
I think you mean Game Keepers. Bug divers are game wardens to me.
Illuminate front is where legends become gods.
automaton front is where helldiver become corpse
@@jackr2287yup and us both divers are the disassembly squad
It's all fun and games with the bugs and collecting oil. But when it comes time to fight the socialist toasters...you.... you.... *Malevolon Creek flashbacks*
1:03 A friendly reminder to fill out your C-01 forms before engaging in any activity that may result in a child.
Thank you for serving your glorious super earth. You have been given a higher citizen clearance
Aswell as the 180 day wait before these activities
@@JoltBlade you just made your democracy officer proud, sir
I love being gay, I can get freaky without having to fill out C-01 forms.
"Youre sacrifice will be remembered, whoever you were!"
Yeah that’s why veterans fucking kill themselves every day right lol? 😂
I wouldn’t even want anyone knowing I served even though it’s a HUGE PART of my life. It is my life.
A friend of mine was interested in Helldivers and the 2 videos I sent him were the game intro, to show the propaganda, and this to show the reality. You nailed the feel of being a Helldiver in a way I have not seen anyone else do.
And the friend saw them both! Well done Roruka! Nicely done
Being killed on the last button of the mission terminal is SO F TRUE
This is what I’d want out of a helldivers anime 4 trainees and like 2 seasons of character development just for the final episode to just be this.
Serious adult-catered animation doesn't have to only be anime.
2 seasons when boot camp is like 72 hours!
@arieson7715 In all fairness, though, animated (western or eastern) shows tend to do an excellent job at showing off the theme and tone of that kind of world. The only Live action I can think of from recent times that's done justice to it's world setting is the fallout show.
Edit: an example would be the animations sodaz makes and this one as well.
If a show was made, it would have to have the same tone and energy as the Halo ODST live action, and not end up like literally any Halo Live action series has.
@@friendlycrusader8892 well a lot can happen in 72 hours so I’m thinking season 1 would be a group of friends signing up for training then season 2 could be the actual training and then the last episode would be a melevelon creek mission where they complete the mission but fail to extract.
@@arieson7715 yeah but with the whole vibe of the game it just seems like the entire universe is one big anime
That last bit where the orbital strike lands and cuts to black on impact, ALWAYS sends a chill up my spine no matter how many times I watch it. With how it all played out, the music AND the visuals, SO damn good! I'm glad YT randomly recommended this to me, awesome work!
Fantastic work. ICaptured the bot front really well and added a little more realism grusome detail to the gunfights.
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it :)
That friendly fire hit me in my soul.
I can’t count how many times I’ve died to my own stratagem, often because it’s been shot out of my hand and I have to make a futile attempt to run away from the 500kg bomb at my feet
@@mclovin2408
Why run when you can just keep shooting for a few more seconds?
@@WhatIsSanity Helldivers should never die. They must live to a patriotic death while spreading democracy against many bots or being bugs. Speak like this again or I will report you to a democracy officer for treason.
“Freedom doesn’t come free”
I managed to live with one helldiver for a maximum of 3 landings. And that's the best case!
A true legend
@@zuberk8812 ive once managed to survive 15 on suicide mission, bot front too. smoke stratagems are essential
For me it was 20 the trick was suicidal moving from cover to cover and good use of air and positioning with team
I survived 2 helldive bot missions one destroy command centers the other was fabricators, I died on the 3rd mission as the 2nd to last survivor on extract citizens mission…
Also yes I use the machine gun stratagem regularly.
When I'm playing with (most of) my friends, I can basically survive indefinitely.
But... When I'm playing with random-no-mics-who-think-380mm-barrage-is-a-close-air-support-weapon........ Most I've done is four drops in a row.
Dude you couldn’t have captured the duality of war better. Like this brings me back to joining the actual military, feeling hyped, kicking ass, and then just pure hell. This is absolutely amazing!
I just noticed, you synced the calm moments of the song with the emotional segments of the video, the decision to enlist, finding love, and the protagonist becoming a casualty, while the metal segments are played during the combat.
Don't know if that was intentional but it's genius storytelling.
10/10
This shot at 1:07 is carrying the whole video.
Even if they're brave, otherwise completely zealous, the fact those people are seen as completely disposable is really sad.
I like the exercise of taking a fictionnal world and switch the tune. Very good work !
They were the first divers to get past one mission. They thought themselves invincible until we went to the creak. Each helldivers baptism in fire it decided who was strong enough to survive.
This is fantastic. You’re a born storyteller, my friend, with an incredible technical and directorial ability as well. The match cut from the ‘lover’ in bed/being dead was CHEFS KISS filmmaking. Keep it up!
The best part in my opinion is, how the true horrors of war are shown, when in the end noone wins.
Except for super earth, and a win for super earth is a win for me!
Doesnt determine who is right, only who is left.
@@nicholailatchana339 super earth will be left
Retired as a lvl90...I've been ignoring my duty far too long. Time for me to dive again, time to avenge all the lost divers.
See you at the front, sir o7
This is amazing! Fantastic work roruka
Thank you! 😄
Saw this on Facebook and had to find the artist, 10/10 subscribed
It's so fricking good man. It may not be made by the best cgi or best artists with a lot of time to draw but it has soul man.
I don't know a lot about animating but that was really cool
All I could hear inside my when her hand was chopped off:
"SWEET LIBERTY MY ARM!"
*Video approved by the ministry of truth for true patriotism your medal awaits you at your local democracy officer*
For freedom! For oil! For Earthen values! Together we shall prevail against the nations of dark that form the axis of evil. Did I mention the oil?
Wow! That was absolutely incredible!
Coming back 4 weeks later to rewatch yet again. Sad this hasn't blown up like it deserves to.
This is metal as hell! \m/
went out like a true soldier, godbless
This is epic, share this elsewhere it needs more attention!!!
I found it! This got attention on reddit, hope it spreads here on yt.
Best thing I've ever seen about helldivers 🚨
The part when the scene cuts to that guy laying cold on the ground really hit me in the feels.
Must say, you did a really damn good job. I wish to see more sooner or later (No rush, animation, drawing, coloring, ect. takes a lot of time..)
Helldivers is all fun and chaos until you really think about...this being how it really is for them
This is really well done, soldier. Keep it up!
I loved the detail of the gunfire clearing the smoke at first, but damn, I wasn’t expecting the feels.
Best original HD animation I’ve seen. Your cinematography skills are fantastic! Bravo! 👏
Something funny happened that just felt epic for some reason,I was still a cadet,on a bot mission with higher levels,I wad getting reinforced just as the pelican left, but I stilk landed and got out the pod, there was a machine gun and I could still use stratagems, picked up the gun, dropped a 500kg and let loose till I died again
holy f. shit. music? great. story? classic. "Rest your eyes now soldier, you did your part." o7
Holy hell you did so much with such constrained animation! I really felt this from start to finish, and as others have said the transition at 1:08 was a brutal gut punch. Absolutely fantastic work.
Only a true diver does not shy away from bot missions. Wasat's liberation MO awaits!
BROOOOO. Why did this hit so hard....!?!?!?? This gave me the chills. Well done!
You guys have no business being this talented. I love watching fan art of games I play, love this.
Well, I'm going back to the front to help my brothers who are still fighting.
Deserves way more views. Absolutely phenomenal work. And remember, y'all,
"Scenes like these are happening all over the galaxy!"
that is hell of a perspective shift from the gratuitous patriotism and cinematic heroism we've come to know and love from most of the community, well done
It's kinda crazy how damn tragic a Helldivers story can be. Also that part where the shot cuts from the lover being alive to dead remi is me alot of the trauma team comic from cp2077
Lost for words in this. The horrors of war being so raw. The struggle to live is endless.
insanely cool
Loving the ''You must be this tall to dive'' !!!😆
wow! watta piece of art!!!
great great work w this.
really hits a diver in the feels.
dude this was so good. keep going
За демократию ✊ Helldivers 2
Fuck dude you know your good because of the feelings i got during the ending, the ability to tell such a good story in 2 minutes is phenomenal
I remembered why I am familiar with the style of this animation. The animation in this video is the same as Strike Force Heroes! Such nostalgia!
TRAINING? HAH I HAVE NO TRAINING AND YET I STILL DOMINATE THE GROUND YOU FOUGHT WELL KID👍
I understand this animation. These are all rookies going into an automata mission without knowing what to do, so they get wrecked. I always say it's best to bring an experienced Helldiver with you when you first start out fighting robots. They'll teach you the ins and outs of spilling oil and how to really handle yourself.
My theory why Melevelon Creek was so bad was because it was when a fresh wave of rookies were sent to it without knowing what they were doing, like myself. So we were outgunned and not properly geared at first.
damn that was good. hope to see a full mini animated series out of this.
I love this story and the animation was awesome! Keep it up!
"when you fights bugs, you are a helldivers
when you start fighting automatons you becoma a citizen"

Well done. Direct impact to the feels. Good effect on target.
This would've just been some other fan fiction... if it weren't for the music bro... that music choice alone almost made me wanna cry 🫠
Great animation dude! This deserves way more views
“Their sacrifice will not be forgotten, nor the incremental gains they achieved”
It hits because theres been so many times where im killed right at that extract beacon. And youd think they just slump over to the flooe. But holy, seeing that position is like, damn that sucks
My only regret is that I can't like it more than once. Subscribed. Wonderful story telling. Hits right in the feels. Great work @Roruka!
god damn, this is fucking good, well done brow.
This... One... Hit... Hard... Amazing work!
Simple, but very well executed. Bravo.
THIS GOT ME FEELIN' PATRIOTIC
Dam. This was amazing.
Absolutely incredible work!
I like to think LMG guy survived.
Damn good animation, really captures the reality of the war
simply wow
"Sweet liberty, my arm!"
This really speed ran All Quiet on the Western Front (in spaaaace).
One's again YT algorythm hides an absolute beauty.
Amazing video.
This is amazing.
Love this, some great work!

Just discovered Nick DePirro from this vid. Thanks - he's great!
I love the art style and story. this is just awesome! insta subscribe from this!
And then, she wakes up with a new metal arm, MG Diver having dragged her to the Pelican... Steel Veterans Warbond unlocked.
durisimo de ver, un like
Wow... That is perfect
Im actually sad that it took 3 weeks for this to pop into my feed. This is SO good.
Shits fucking awesome!
Great job!!! Keep up the good work.
Holy shit, this is so good. Good choice on music for great art
This is amazing!
This is awesome
The callbacks to Starship troopers are awesome :D why u gotta go make me feel
Well, the typical four cadets - zero cover, the machine gunner shoots at full height, the main character, instead of retreating to cover and calling stratagems from there, also does it at full height in front of the machine gun devastators. The result is logical, which is why there are few of us at the front with automata.
My democracy officer told me "Just as victors celebrate victory without thinking about the obvious loss of life, similarly the democracy rejoices in the lives lost for the cause with pride rather than weep for them for they went out with a bang, like a legend, LIKE A HELLDIVER."
Some years back when I was still a skull admiral I had the great pleasure of meeting General Brasch, he was using a bile titan's leg (that he killed by simply staring at it too hard) as a toothpick. I asked him, "How does one do more for the cause?" He simply responds "With each victory you become strong, not because of how many you killed but because you survived. With each victory you have the wishes of the lives lost resting upon your shoulder and fulfilling their will becomes your responsibility and in return they grant you strength. Keep pushing helldiver, keep winning, can't you hear it? EVERYBODY IS CHEERING FOR YOU!"
this goes crazy hard, please do more!
This was sick.
My longest surviving hell diver was 10 missions agains the nids.
10 tours well spent for SUPER EARTH
