I am a retired combat veteran and you’re videos along with my purchase of 2 trad bows this year changed my life. I am truly addicted and this is very a positive and healthy hobby.
I’m a War Vet and doing things to keep my mind busy and I like to use my time learning new things and archery is one of them now I’ve really gotten into. Your my go to for information and I love your faith in Christ and clean informational videos God Bless Brother
I've been shooting the Dragon 10's for a few days now. I also shoot 27 1/2 draw length. I was blown away by how accurately they fly. Yep, they were about a hundred bucks for 24. In the past I have shot Carbon Express and Gold Tip. I paid about $90 for a box of six. So not only are the Sanlida's about a fourth the price, they fly and perform just as well. I can't tell the difference. One thing I would recommend, however, is to shoot a heavier spine than you normally would. I ordered 300 spine arrows and they are cooking out of my PSE EVO EVL 32, Very fast arrows.
I actually had the opposite experience as far as spine. I have a 28.5" draw and was shooting the Warriors in a 400 spine, 7" wrap, cut to 30.5" with 310gr up front and they were lasers in my 50# longbow. Fletched with 4" feathers and a standard nock. I ordered the 400 spine Dragon 9's and cut to 31" with the same 7" wraps I needed 350gr up front to get them tuned to my bow. It's not a concern for me, total arrow weight is still ballpark 600gr+/- compared to the Warriors I was using at about 585gr and they fly every bit as straight if not better so I'll definitely be using them this season. I'm really happy with the performance of them in the few days I've had to give them a test run, just found it odd that they seemed stiffer than the Warriors when the GPI was notably lower. Even shot a few with broadheads into a 3/4" sheet of plywood multiple times and they haven't splintered or cracked so they're tough as well.
@@OnHolliday Well, to be honest I would have bought the 350 spines but they were out of them at the time. But I've been very happy with how the 300's fly. As far as durability goes, I've just been shooting into a bag target so the jury is out for me on their durability. But I'm planning on hunting with them. My archery season opens Sep 7th
Alright Jeff, I got these arrows and overall I’m happy with them. I did glance off a target stand at about 27 yds and the 8 cracked in half. Clean split across very little “splinters”. Let me know if you want a photo and the particulars.
I could really use some help! I'm just now at age 38 awaiting my first adult bow on order. I'm excited to take up a hobby that I loved as a kid (just messing around at summer camp and whatnot). I ordered a black hunter longbow 40lb and a sanlida Eagle X9 at 45lb to see which one felt better. Now...arrows. this part is pretty daunting. I am about 5'11" and believe I'm probably a 28 or just above draw length, and plan to target shoot and hunt. I'm good with my hands, so I can definitely tinker with arrows, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money and end up getting the wrong stuff. Can you give me an idea of what I should do to start? Basically, help me find the right rabbit hole to go down😂! All of these arrows terms and math are making my head spin! Any help is appreciated. I'm LOVING your videos.
I got some china arrows yeah about 35 AUD a dozern 2y ago, They are a little heavy, but strong as fuck, put one 6inches through a pallet and broke it with the Makita trying to get it out, now it's a 26inch kids arrow, still shooting... 15 20yards they're like big nails😂😂
Hello sir, you are a good very good instructor congrats I saw more than 4 times many of you videos here, well please help me with a recommendation, wich one spine is the correct for 3D if my draw is 27.5’’ and my recurv bow is #37lbs
Too bad they do not make target arrows in the 600/700 spine - I'd be very interested. Regardless, you are right...no where can you get arrows of this quality for that price. Nice job reviewing them too. Well done brother !!
This may sound dumb but I actually don’t know, so I have arrows that use plastic veins but are like good 500 spines, is it possible to just remove the veins and put on feathers for my recurve? I want to shoot off the shelf
Alright, for 59.99 to my door I grabbed the 8’s. If they are great on my longbow, my boy has enough arrows to keep him pacified all fall. If the inserts are glued I’d assume they they’re 12 grainers and trimming a 32 to 29 will solve that little hiccup.
couldnt have been better timing! I just started shooting a couple weeks ago and the arrows that came with my recurve are pretty poor quality and I was getting pretty worried about spending $100+ on 6 arrows lol
This was an awesome weekend watching Jeff put out three shows, all gold man. Hay Jeff do you believe that hot melt gorilla glue would be great when im shooting broadheads into target that when i pull them out that the glue will hold together so i dont pull out insert broadheads and everything else? Looks like you say its great but nothing worse when pulling out the hole caboodle comes out.
Awesome to know! Now, what would you recommend for a 45 lb Sanlida Hermit X10 at your draw length? I'm a 28 inch draw length so I know that makes a difference, I typically need a stiffer arrow...
But Gold Tips are American made... if you're referring to the continents and not the nation. In spite of the budget offerings getting the most attention, Sanlida has been around for more than a couple of years and was very well established in Asia before they hit Amazon.
Jeff, I bought some Sanlida 470's and 500's. They are great, but I have run into a question for you through a bunch of testing. The Sanlida's are much lighter grains per inch than the Warriors that I normally shoot. I've found that the best arrow flight with them is between 460g and 500. You've mentioned in past videos that the magic hunting number is 500g for the best penetration. With the Sanlida's, the FOC is higher than the Warriors at equal length. What's more important for a hunting arrow, keeping the weight 500g and above or higher FOC with a lower overall arrow weight?? Thank You! Dave
Left or right helical will help with stabilizing the arrow more than straight, with a double bevel or doesn't matter, with a single bevel you don't wanna go against the bevel lest you wish to destabilize the arrow and get some funny stuff going on 😂
Ayyyy, you know what, I may just treat myself and get a pack, I wonder how out of the box they do with my royalx8, I’m at 25 inch draw length though so idk what spine or anything like that
