Thank you for pointing out that people need to shoot what works for them! That is the set up that works best for you. I get comments about my heavy arrows but that is what I have found works best for my bow and draw length. Like T bone I have spent years trying to build the perfect set up going from crazy light arrows to super heavy and for me personally a 605 grain arrow with 19% FOC works best with my 31.5” draw shooting 74lbs.
I have two different broadheads I am running. The first is the German Jager 175 grain and second is the Swacker 150. Jager is on the Easton Axis 300 spine with 75 grain outsert. Swacker is on blood sport onyx with 60 grain outsert. Also there is a rage 150.
Not very familiar with Alta arrows , but if they are putting out spine charts like so many other arrow companies do - in my humble opinion those arrows built are under spine’d for any newer bow with more than a 65# draw weight.
I'm running standard diameter arrows with 100 grain inserts and 100 grain broadheads. Zinger fletches and lighted nocks... Total arrow weight is 505 grains and 17% foc Totally DEADLY
What broadhead did you go with? That setup sounds perfect? I’m at 125gr point / broadhead, 100gr Ethics Outsert on a 300 spine Element F5, with 4 blazer vanes on a right helical. 470gr, 17% FOC. Love em.
I was just watching this video to get a little more knowledge on what I want my arrow setup to be. Watching you Michael. Wow how the years have flown. It feels like just yesterday we were young. I have been a fan of yours since the monster buck vhs days. Good luck this year. Crazy to think we are now almost the old guys!!!
I’ve done Ranch Fairy’s point weight method and nock tuned before. I don’t think i’ve ever needed to insert tune anything. That particular build ended up being a 507gr Black Eagle Carnivore.
I have a golf shaft spiner, I shoot traditional archery mostly I do have compounds, but I put the hard side of the spine toward the riser on my longbows and recurves 100 grain insert 150 brodhead and they shoot like bullets
When installing inserts does it really matter if you take the nock out before gluing in the insert. To prevent pressure from push inserts.or is that a ole wise tail
If your nocks are solid yes it does. So brass inserts are solid and that pressure you're making from pushing the nock in can make it back out. The aluminum insert has a hole so when you push the nock on there's no pressure behind it
Learn how to use a grain scale. Set the arrow holder on the scale then push the "tare" button. It will zero the scale then you can set the arrow on and get your exact weight. No math needed.
Hard to get a 470-500 grain arrow with an Altra for my 31.5” draw length at 74# draw weight…. Need a 250 spine and Altra GPI is way too heavy. I’ll stick with my Sirius Gemini 250’s. 29.25” carbon to carbon; 57.2 grain hit and collar from Podium; 125 grain mega meat; Silent Knight vanes….. 472 grains/15.95% foc
@jedhuf7548 wrong. if ends are not squared fieldpoints especially broadheads can and will wobble can 9 out of ten times its not a perfect cut right off the arrow saw
america has alot off varieties are builds for their critters they kill. works for them wel, heavy light doesnt make much differencel. not suitable for some countries due to massive difference in game size. proves though certain game alot off arrows are way overbuilt. elefant arrows for a buffaloes, elk arrows for whitetail. do what you feel best, faith in your build makes you confident and miss less (trade secrets to success)
I came to the comment section lookin for them. They seem to have settled down here lately which is bizarre. Used to see at least one of them everywhere.
Shooting a 340 spine arrow with that much weight up front and your specs is REALLY under spinning that arrow. Really accelerating the carbon breakdown when shooting it over a shorter period of time. Making it dangerous to shoot over time and will make the arrows inherently inaccurate. Shoot a 250 spine with that same setup and it will shoot better. My 2 cents. For others to follow this could be dangerous on their part. Physics doesn’t lie.
@brandonoutdoors9622 that's not what he's saying. Anyone's setup will work great if the bows tuned. And any arrow will work, some are better. Like a 250 spine for all that added weight. Yes the arrow chart other back of almost every box has the answer. But it's just a generic answer. When you truly start tuning your setup, arrows included, now you need to account for the added weight to achieve the required F.O.C. Ranch fairy explains it, if you can follow along. He's a goofball but he knows his stuff.
While I do agree with you it should be noted that his arrows are pretty short. I’m sure he could have gone with a stiffer spine but also every arrow reacts differently to how you weight them. My arrows for one bow are similar to his, rip tko 27” 90gr inserts 100gr tips but I run 300 spine 80lb ventum pro. Foc is way too high and yet they still shoot great tuned great. Switch over to my nexus 2 and I’ve got 4mm axis 27” with 55gr insert 100gr tip and I’ve got those in a 250 spine. 300 spine would constantly throw inconsistent bare shafts 250 worked perfectly. Who knows his specific arrows might just work better loaded up a little more on the tip
I agree, but also keep in mind these newer bows really like a weaker spine and are more forgiving on the shot and doesn't break down the spine like older bows used to
You have to remember all his stuff is set up by tbone and tbone ain’t no run of the mill archer guy has forgot more then most will learn tbone is meticulous a reason he has been on countless podcasts talking about arrow breakdowns
So not spinning arrow while cutting and not squaring the front of shaft off? And these guys are supposed to be experts? Didn't even dry fit and spin test. I'd bet money that arrow ain't square. This entire video is packed full of shortcuts and half assed work.

I’ve been watching you a long time and I still remember when you started traveling and you got that old Chevy great job. Keep it up Michael Waddell.
Waddy's da man! Been watching him for years. We both went gray in that time. LOL
Great information! Waddy is the best in the business 💪
I remember I did all this research when I bought my first arrows. I need to look all that info back up. Thanks for the information.
absolutely loves these video's from you & T Bone man! please keep them coming

This is awesome. Oh and T-Bone talks I listen, that man is the obi-Wan Kenobi of Archery!
Miss you guys love you guys!
Thanks for sharing this video with us.
Thank y’all!
Finally someone shooting a standard diameter arrow.
All I prefer!
Exmark mowers all I run!
Hey michael, what's your thought on the Hoyt Torrex? You recommend this or a step up? Thanks bro.

Awesome video man and I can’t wait to meet you in a couple weeks in Bloomington
Going to be a good time!
What’s in Bloomington? Is that mn? Expo?>
@@butchalvarado6092 Bloomington IL there is a hunting expo

I can't math too good. I tare my scale with the holder placed on top of it. It automatically takes it into account when you get your weight.
You got some good form. T Bone better watch out.
I’m digging the bow
ifle rack did you build it or where can a guy find it?
It’s home made

love the channel ! do you like or dislike 4mm ? like a fmj . man i cant wait till i can have a dojo like that !!!!
Awesome product review
Now you just need you a Elite Ethos. You will love it!
That’s my choice this year
I have the base model Basin and it's a shooter. Super smooth draw and no vibration been shooting it for 2 years now and have no complaints
I'm still shooting the ol tack driver E35.
What's the part numbers to the insert set-up you have, I want to buy the same pieces?
Waddy your comment section looks like Cinemax After Dark 😂. Good luck this season. I’ll be in Marion County GA trying to sling some arrows.
Man it’s wild out here ain’t it? Trying to stay on top of blocking all the spam
Good luck this season.@@BoneCollectorTube
So I’m not the only one that says “AIRUH” great video man!
Same. I would have to change the entire way I talk if I pronounced the "ow" at the end lol
What’d you do to your fingers on your right hand?? That’s got to funk up your fretting for sure.
Would love to see a little more in-depth of each component put into this build
How can I get T-bone to help me tune my bow and setup some arrows to for it?
Blitzenberger 😂😂 love it
What was your total weight up front Mike?

Bring back DA TORCH!!
I’m surprised you don’t square the ends.
If the inserts are a tight fit it’s really a nonissue
He squared the end when the cut was finished by rolling it against the cut off wheel
@@jedhuf7548 Exactly!

What about the outserts t bone uses. What’s really the purpose
Outsersts make an arrow way stronger and can add more weight to the front
Bring back DA Torch!!!
Maybe I didn't hear it but what is your TAW?
He said 485
I'm still trying to figure out what a era's are
😂😂
Sharp sticks
I’ve never had a full length shaft brother 😔
I can't be the only one that thought he was ranging the lawnmower at first 😂

2025? I know you’re not waiting till 25’ 😳
I think your bow is the quietest bow I’ve heard.
Give em the heavies 🤘
Where are the fairies at because he doesn’t run a 700 grain arrow
I don't know how in the world you getting a flat trajectory out of a 485 grain Arrow out of a compound bow
Tune your bow!
Thank you for focusing on what kills the animal. Next stop, broadheads. Oh boy!
