So crazy. I just discovered the existence of Zentangle the other day. I was considering it for my 12 year old daughter. She has major adhd and I thought this might be fun and helpful. I think we’ll do it together.
I think I heard you say that you were/are a teacher. Me too. High school English and French for 38 years. My ideal job! I have liked and collected fountain pens since elementary school as well as notebooks. I counted books twice. My last year of teaching, I read 22 books; my first year of retirement, it was 66. You touched on my favorite things with this video! Thank you for your thoughtful presentations!
As a life long Austen fan, I encourage you to watch the Pride & Prejudice with Colin Firth & Jennifer Ehle. The best version by far! Acting incomparable! My next favorite Austen is Persuasion; then Emma. Happy reading & watching! Enjoy your channels!
I love the agave color of your kindle! So pretty! I read Hotel Nantucket this year. The names were a bit too made up sounding but overall it was a pretty good book. If you like fantasy I highly recommend The Prison Healer series. Happy reading and writing!
Hi Lori! I think I saw in one of your other videos a Sailor ink that came as a set, it was a Sailor collab with Mizutama. I just call it "Mizutama Grey" (not sure if there is an official name for that ink) but I would really recommend that one for the Nagasawa Decimo -- I have mine inked up with it! It's a subtle taupe that leans more grey in some lights, more taupe in other lights.
What a great idea! I forgot to swatch that ink with my grays. This is why these ink family samples are so helpful. I have more than I even realize. Thank you!
Yay for tangles! I did my first #30inks30day challenge last month with a small tangle for each day. It taught me a lot about my pens and ink collection.
I loved The Hotel Nantucket! If you like historical fiction, I recommend The Women by Kristin Hannah. My reading goal for this year is 20 books as well! Thanks for the inspo for the readers journal!
Sounds like you are doing well. I'm on no buy July and so far going strong. Also jumped into my unused olive Travelers Co. Note book. I'm using as a planner/organizer for the second half of 2024. So far I'm enjoying it. Last year I listened to P&P on the Library app - loved it. Also, took a Zentangle class a few years back, but haven't kept up with it. Seeing you use your fountain pen and ink is inspiring me. Btw: I'm also a July birthday girl. Happy birthday month. Miss the Juicy Broads.
I’m doing no buy July as well and how hard it’s been is a sign I need to exercise my flabby self-restraint muscle more! And I too have found comfort in being more creative with what I have. That’s terrible about Vanessa’s home. Will be going to Stationery Fest; hope to see you there!
I always like your videos. I did some playing with zentagles a while ago, but don’t think I have an artist’s talent. I like your zentangles and, of course, your pen and ink collection. Thanks for sharing!
You have inspired me. I love the idea of using the Travelers notebooks as reading journals. I need to read more, so I'm going to give this a try. Thanks for the book recommendation of The Lioness of Boston. I find that story intriguing.
So fun! I just ran across your channel. I’m a teacher, and I was just In Cambridge at Phidon Pens (saw another of your videos), also bought Pelikan Brilliant Brown (from your video a year ago) and would love to go to both the Dutch Pen Show and Stationary Fest. Nice to meet you!
Thank you for sharing you’ve given me some good ideas for my travelers notebooks. 👍. looking forward to your plan for Yoseka Stationary Fest...my sister and I are going for the first day and it’s a bit overwhelming so much I want to see and do 😊
Zentangles look like so much fun! I love the reading journal you are starting in your TN, and that page you draw for keeping track of books read! I'm having lots of fun outside and at the beach in Croatia for the summer. ⛱️
Hi Lori!! I‘m so happy to see you (and Lumpy- do I spell him right?) in the „July-no-juicy-broads-podcast-break“. It was an interesting video in your pens and ink routine. I have no project but I re-discovered lately a few of the ink samples, that I didn’t like before- Cacao du Bresil in a Capless, so lovely! So I’m all about trying multiple pens with one ink and see how that works.
1:43 YES! I noted that too and I can't wait to order a pen from Bart. I'm going to the DC Pen Show and he's on my visit list. I love this video! I love that you discovered zentangles. I have been doing Zentangles for about 10 years. I too did take an official zentangle class around the time my husband was being treated for colon cancer. I can say, it provided a much needed respite for my weary brain. And I believe that is their mission 🙂
Beautiful pen!!! I first saw the Cancer model pen on Karyna’s channel and messaged Bart right away😂 I too will be at the DC pen show and so excited to meet him and see his inventory.
@@darlenewashington9570 Did you get a pen from Bart? I want to see his models in person but I'm leaning toward the new Cancer model since my mom was a cancer. I'm bringing a bunch of ink sample vials to DC with me to give out to people. I'm trying to make pen friends and thought this might entice them. hahaha
This was a fun video! Many of the recent writer's editions have been appealing to me as well as the Around the World in 80 Days series, but I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Congratulations on your Jane Austen pen. It's beautiful! Pride and Prejudice is one of those books that I've read multiple times and since the movie came out i just watch it over and over.
Thank you! I can't believe this is my first time reading Pride and Prejudice. I feel lucky to be experiencing it for the first time! I can't wait to watch all of the movies/mini series, etc!
I hope you have an amazing time!!! Sounds incredible! I will announce the sale on this channel. I think I'll be selling them on my website lorisbostonfound.com/ Thanks for watching!
I'm sorry to hear about Vanessa's situation. Sending some prayers her way.
So crazy. I just discovered the existence of Zentangle the other day. I was considering it for my 12 year old daughter. She has major adhd and I thought this might be fun and helpful. I think we’ll do it together.
I think you'll both love it!

The color on that Austin pen is amazing!
Super excited to see you at Stationery Fest! 🎉 looking forward to all the fun related content from you as well!! Missing my Juicy Broad Mondays ☺️

Thank you so much Trish! Many have commented about how wonderful the Colin Firth version is...so I will definitely watch it! I can't wait!
So looking forward to trying Zentangles. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for watching! Have fun drawing your Zentangles!

a new biography came out on isabella stewart gardner this summer, its called chasing beauty
I'd love to check it out! Thank you!
How fun, I was into Zentagles way back when they first came out. Everything comes around again! It’s a fun way to get to use your pens and inks.

it's lovely hearing your thoughts 🥰
Thank you Chantelle!! I'm happy to share. 😊
My mother and aunt do zentangles! Something fun this summer: I'm going to sail my boat out of Mattapoisett this summer.
That is so much fun!!! When did you learn to sail?
@@timewithtata8004 oh 30 or so years ago! 😁

Your book shelf sketch is awesome. I have the Olive TN too I haven’t used mine either I need to use them. 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you! I'm having a lot of fun in my TNs these days!

Thanks so much! I love seeing one ink in a variety of pens too! It's incredible to see the variation in performance from one pen to the next!

Loving the TN ideas Lori! I’m very easily influenced and now I want another TN for a reading log/journal too 😂
Haha! I relate to that... and of course you need a reading TN!!
Always fun. I'm thinking more Traveler's Company creativity would be a very good thing!

You should read The Women by Kristin Hannah! Great historical fiction.
Your ink collection is amazing can you use all inks in all fountain pens? ✒️
As long as it is fountain pen ink. I choose not to put heavy shimmer inks in my expensive piston fill pens just to be extra cautious.
Would love to see you choose your favorites. Have you done the "only 10 fountain pens" exercise?
This would be so difficult for me! I think it would be a great exercise! I'll add that to my list of videos to create. Thank you for the suggestion!
@timewithtata8004 It looks like torture for those with huge collections but it's so helpful for new FP enthusiasts like me. Thanks!
Where did you take the zen tangle class?
Something fun: off to the Aegean islands very soon. I am curious about the selling of your pens. Will that be on youtube - this channel??
I hope you have an amazing time!!! Sounds incredible! I will announce the sale on this channel. I think I'll be selling them on my website lorisbostonfound.com/ Thanks for watching!
What is the link for Journal with Jaz?
Here it is! www.youtube.com/@journalwithjas
Curious if the loose clip is an anomaly and something zodiac can fix or replace.
I have a question are you going to the DC Pen show in Virginia?
I am not. I opted to go to Brooklyn for Stationery Fest.
