my favorite eco friendly cleaning swap is the wooden cleaning brushes for the dishes and the wooden toilet brush..... it definitely makes cleaning so much more pleasant with beautiful things that are not harming the environment.
My favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap is taking a reusable ziplock bag, adding a little baking soda and vinegar then tying to the shower head for 2-3 hours. Remove then run the shower on hot for a minute. Cleans buildup and help the shower head work more effectively. Thanks for the fun and generous giveaway, and big congratulations on 100k ✨
Hello! Thanks for making this video. 🙂 My husband and I have recently embraced minimalism and have enjoyed the benefits of more space and less clutter. We're also interested in reducing our household waste and using more natural products, but it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Two swaps that I found fascinating in this video were the dryer balls (which I've already been thinking about getting) and the dish soap block (which I've never seen before!). Your video helped me realize that the shift towards zero waste might be way easier than I thought it would.
Congratulations!! My favorite cleaning swap has been to stop buying paper towels. I found reusable bamboo towels on a roll that can be washed and reused over and over. So much more absorbent and practical!

I love it. Great video so glad you showed a dish soap bar cause I’ve been wanting my family to switch the soap we use and could only find Castile soap as an option on videos but never at the store. So thank you
I want to switch up the one that you use laundry stirps and wool dryers, and also the dish bar soap instead of liquid.I think all of this will good to use.I am starting to teach my children to a zero waste, and eco friendly products, hope we can also have your book to read as well.Good luck and God bless us all.🥰🙏✨

Hi Christine, I really love your channel, it gives me so much inspiration to work towards a more sustainable me :-) My favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap is probably adding essential oils to laundry to make them smell fresh and also vinegar&water, I use it in my whole flat. Best wishes from Paris
I love your channel, Christine, and congratulations! Thanks so much for sharing such wonderful ideas and content. Over the past year or so, our family of 4 has been on a journey towards simpler living and lessening the amount of waste we create and you've been such an encouragement and source of inspiration along the way - so thank you! It's hard to pick just one, but I think my favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap would be either making our own spray cleaners from vinegar and essential oil or buying all of our soaps, dish pods, laundry detergent, etc. from our local zero waste/refill store. It's been a bit of a learning curve but so worth it! :)
Simply a simple video, Christine. All the swaps are amazing and they're in my wishlist to try later. You should give one more advise on your video. Instead of quickly replacing all plastic items and purchasing nature-friendly items in a day, suggest them to use your existing plastic items to its maximum extent and then choose the new item with a nature-friendly product. Also, it is great if we could take the responsibility for the plastic trash we produce. Ensure they're properly reaching the recyclable plants without polluting Air, Water or Soil. Remember: The world will not change in a day if we replace our plastics with sustainable items. It is all about reducing the necessity of such kind of stuff and clearing the circulated ones. Keep going champ :) Expecting more new ideas on this topic!
Favorite, and first, swap is hands down the wool dryer balls. Not only were they non-toxic, but they saved energy and money. We recommend this change to so many others as everyone can do something. Thank you your content and refreshing style. Many blessings, an Arizona fan.
Hi Christine! From The Philippines here. I started loving the use of natural and sustainable products since I started viewing your videos. I love using bamboo toothbrush and coconut made brushes for our sink. I feel unguilty when its time to throw them away. Thank you for being an inspiration! ❤️
Congrats on 100k! I recently found your channel and love it! I like videos like this that show that simple, sustainable minimalism is a process that anyone can do over time. My fav swap is the dish soap bar. I already prefer bar body soap, so this swap just makes sense!
Congratulations on 100K Christine! My favourite swap is to use baking soda when cleaning the oven. Whenever it gets messy it’s so much better than using harsh chemicals that made me cough and feel sick!
I genuinely love all your videos, but I love this video even more. with soothing music, short and simple but very informative is my favorite style of video . thank you for making this video, I always learn something new whenever I watch your video. swapping all the cleaning stuff with mostly natural ingredients ( vinegar, baking soda, essential oil) have been the best thing ever. it help saving money and also help with my health. its a win-win. :)
Congratulations on 100K! My favorite laundry swap is the laundry strips and the dish washing soap bar. Just thinking about how much plastic that would eliminate!!! Thank you for your videos and suggestions. I find them to be calming filled with encouraging ideas. Best of wishes.
My favorite cleaning swap has to be switching to wood bases/plant based cleaning brushes. I recently just had to throw away all my old plastic ones and replaced them with a bamboo scrub brush and a plant based bristle bottle brush. I have been using a dish block for a couple weeks now and it works amazingly. Im loving all these zero waste/more sustainable swaps!
This video is so relaxing my senior dog loves it too! My fav swap is using vinegar and baking soda for cleaning. I am allergic to chemical cleaners so it's a perfect swap for me!
My favourite eco-swap is my shampoo and conditioner bar!! The natural ingredients have completely changed my curly/frizzy hair! I love using it and it just makes me feel so good that I'm not using hard plastic shampoo bottles!
Congratulations! 🎊 My favorite cleaning swap is the vinegar and water in a spray bottle. I like to take citrus rinds and soak them in the vinegar before adding it to the spray bottle. Gives it a nice smell that lasts after you finish cleaning!
Congratulations!!🎉 I started my zero waste journey a couple of months ago. I love seeing videos like this one, its just a great way to make simple changes that you feel good about. My favorite swap has been my leaf razon. Its not only aesthetically pleasing but it works wonderfully.
Congrats Christine! I started using vinegar+water and baking soda for cleaning my bathroom and also start making diy toothpaste and deodorant with baking soda, coconut oil and essential oils. It's a nice feeling that you can eat (literally) all the things I use to clean my body and around the house. It's been half a year and I 'm glad that i did go all natural!
Changing over to more sustainable methods slowly. Must use up product I have first. We have reduced our paper towel usage in favor of flour sack towels. My favorite swap by far is my bamboo toothbrush. I love it. I tried sustainable substitutes for dryer sheets until I realized I don’t need anything added to the dryer. Love the clean “no smell” of my clothes. 😊
My favourite swap has been getting rid of plastic washing up brushes and using wooden ones and a coconut husk scraper, which is fabulous food scraping off burnt on food (this always happens when I cook quinoa porridge 🤦). I also stopped using fabric softener all together and haven't noticed any difference (other than the lack of synthetic fragrance!). Congratulations on 100k!!
Thanks for your inspiring important sharings of your knowledge! My favorite eco-friendly swap is the orange peels vinegar all-pourpose cleaner...and now the season for oranges starts :)
Christine, thank you so much for providing a relaxing place to end my day of teaching. I've always loved planet Earth but have been finding new ways over the past few years to try to live a more sustainable lifestyle. I teach high school Biology and I love sharing new ways to encourage my students that it's about more people making changes imperfectly rather than fewer people doing things perfectly to really make a difference. So awesome that you hit 100,000! Congrats!
Contratulations on the 100K subs!! where I live the zero waste movement is still not as strong, which translates as little shops selling in bulk and overall being quite an expensive lifestyle still. So one of the first swaps that I did was to stop purchasing water bottles and just carrying with me a reusable one. This helped TONS to regulate my water intake, because since I was carrying it around all the time, drinking water became a habit. :) Another swap I've adapted, but it's more of a mentality swap, is always using up the products. If it's a product I like or use a lot I tend to buy the next one when the first is close to being done. Before that would only push me to be close to finish it and start using the new one. But now, I almost force myself to really end up the product before opening or starting the next one. It's not easy... but when you get used to it, it also becomes a habit. :D
Congratulations! My favorite sustainable swap is my wool dryer balls! We love to add jasmine essential oil during the spring and summer months, and clove and orange oils during the colder months. I’m super interested in the dish soap block, I might have to pick one up! 😊
I have recently started to go eco-friendly and my favorite swap so far is using bar soap instead of liquid soap. I find that a bar of soap lasts way longer then the liquid soap I use to buy in plastic bottles. I hope to start getting more eco-friendly products once I use up all my other products first.
I love the tips! I like to use baking soda, and vinegar also. And starting this year, I stopped drying our clothes in a dryer altogether. The laundry strips are really unique.
my favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap is making my own laundry detergent with soap bars, which saves plastic, is better for the environment, & is even budget-friendly!
Congrats on the 100K milestone! You’ve worked so hard for this! My favorite swap would have to be wool dryer balls. Especially with drops of citrus essential oil. I also use them to juggle, which is tons of fun.
my favorite is the true earth laundry strips! i've tried other laundry eco friendly swaps and my significant other didn't want to do it because didn't like the effort. the eco strips are easy and we can both use them :)
Congrats on 100k you deserve it! My favourite swap was the laundry stain stick. I have been implementing zero / low waste alternatives into my lifestyle too as a first year university student. I want to start a UA-cam channel on sustainability, but I just need the courage to start it! Your channel is truly inspiring. Thank-you 🙏🏼
Me too! Sometimes we get rainy days though, and I know there are some that don't have the luxury of sunny weather all the time, so the wool dryer balls do help. (;
I love to do this too! In Australia barely anyone uses a dryer in summer time as it’s so warm! Everyone has clothes lines! In winter it doesn’t work out tho! We end up with airers inside and it still dries especially if we have the heater on, we don’t own a dryer.
Congratulations! My favorite cleaning swap are laundry straps and vinegar/baking soda to clean just about anything...but will now be trying bar dish soap. Thanx! Love your chanel😊
My favorite eco swap has to be my clothing dryer rack! Hang drying has saved my clothes from getting warped and ruined and its better for the environment 🤗 Win win!
One of my favourite eco-friendly cleaning swap is vinegar and water as an all purpose cleaner. In fact, this way of cleaning has been passed to us by our parents as a economical way of cleaning surfaces even before it was thought of as eco-friendly. I would like to try those laundry strips but I haven’t seen one of those here in our local grocery stores.
Hello, Christine 😊 I'm from the Philippines. My favorite swaps ever since I became a minimalist and environment friendly are bamboo toothbrush, reusable dish sponge, and eco friendly laundry detergent. I'm also promoting to moms like me to invest in cloth diapers rather than disposable diapers.
Recently was wondering if I should try the laundry strips and your video convinced me to give them a chance. I already use the other stuff mentioned in the video and I do my laundry with soap nuts, love them.
My favorite eco-friendly swap so far goes to my eco-friendly liquid soap (I stop using my previous soap bar which produce so much foam that I know it come from the SLS). Yup, it is a liquid soap, but it contains eco-friendly substances and the bottle was made of recycled plastic waste collected from the beach. Can't wait to be more eco-friendly!!!
Congrats and thanks. One of my favorite cleaning tips is to use less than what the brand directions say. Most of the time it has helped me to clean well enough by reducing the amount of soap (as an example) which the label says.
Congrats on 100k! I’ve become more conscientious about the things I own, use, and buy ever since I subscribed to you. I also started taking an environmental health class that really has motivated me to live more sustainably. I plan to buy a reusable glass spray bottle for making my own all purpose cleaner! We have a dog who is auto immune compromised so we’re hesitant about using commercial cleaners. Excited to try it out!
Vinegar and baking soda are the best and I don't use liquid soap in a plastic bottle anymore, instead I have a huge Marseille soap bar (I live in France ;-) )which I cut up into smaller portions to use. I've also swapped to bamboo toothbrush ever since watching your channel and I have the charcoal stick to my water at work which means I don"t have to buy bottled water anymore :) gravitating towards zero waste slowly but surely . Keep up the inspiration Christine!
Congratulations! This is so exciting and you deserve it. My fave swap so far are bamboo toothbrushes mostly because of how wasteful plastic ones are. I want to try the dish soap block next!
My favorite swap is all purpose cleaner with vinegar. I use it all the time. I also use vinegar in the dishwasher and as conditioner in the laundry machine
I really enjoy your videos! I am new to zero waste and so far I have made my own cleaning solution where I made of a mixture of vinegar and water and I soaked old lemon and orange peels in it! I attempted to make my own toothpaste as well but I didn't like it. Zero waste is unheard of around where I live unfortunately so I am taking it one step at a time and I am watching quite a few videos on the subject of zero waste. Congratulations on all of your subscribers, I can see why you are so popular!
I always make the most out of my lemons, oranges, and calamansi by diffusing them in vinegar to make my own all-purpose cleaner. So easy to make and now I don't have to rush into the grocery stores to grab a cleaning detergent/product. Thank you for sharing your zero-waste cleaning swaps, Christine! These were very helpful. Ps. I found myself very curious to try those wool dryer balls after watching this vid haha x
Congrats for 100k! Your videos are kind of a meditation for me. My favorite swaps are the soap bars and the to use the old t-shirts and brushes to clean. Be safe, God bless
i’m so happy for you!! and so happy to see so many people excited about living more sustainabily. :) my favorite swap is the paper towel swap! since moving out of my parents i’ve been loving the freedom to choose how much waste my home creates.
Congratulations and well done!!! I've been following your content for quite a while now and truly applaud you for your sincere efforts at living a sustainable minimal life. Baking soda as an all purpose cleaner -even to unclog pipes and drains-was a game changer for me. Best wishes! Stay healthy and safe.
Hello Christine. This is Sara, from Portugal. My favorite swap, at the moment, is the reuse of old t-shirts for cleaning cloths ou for little cleasing pads that i sewed to use for my face, and the face of my mother and some friends! take care*
Congrats! I have started to use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning and I got rid of the chemicals. Now my senior cat with respiratory issues no longer suffers when I clean house.
Congrats on 100k subscribers!! My favorite cleaning swap is making my own all purpose cleaner with some rosemary from my garden. It smells incredible. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video!
Congrats, I love your contents, your video are so relaxing but also so relate to important topics! My favourite zero waste switch is using vinegar and water to clean, because it's also toxic-free and it saves a lot of money. Plus it works so well!!!
Congratulations Christine! My favorite cleaning swap was the wool dryer balls. I stumble upon them during a bi-weekly grocery run, and that saved me from a box of dryer sheets! As I'm still a work-in-progress minimalist, it's definitely a step forward to change :)
I've been using Tru Earth strips for several months and love them. Plus, they are Canadian :). A caveat with vinegar: It should not be used with natural surfaces such as marble, granite, or stone, as it can erode these surfaces. Vinegar can also damage silicone seals and gaskets.
I'm kinda hooked on hih concentrated detergents with oxy clean in it, but I wanna swap. Are the strips just as good? Also does the strip size depend on the laundry size?
Thank you for these very helpful tips. I use vinegar and water, and vinegar with baking soda for cleaning as well. This video helped validate the fact that I'm doing the right thing 😁
Hi, Christine! Thanks for the video! My fave eco-friendly cleaning swap is using vinegar as an all purpose cleaner. I even soak orange peels in it before using to give it a more pleasant smell :-)
I purchased a mop with reusable, washable pads that make dry or wet mopping a breeze. I like that it uses little water (no bucket) and works with my homemade (vinegar, water, and essential oil) cleaner.
Soap nuts for laundry for sure. Also hang drying all of my clothes instead of using a dryer. Saves electricity, and I feel more conscious with the care I put into the clothes I own. It also encourages me to keep a small wardrobe. 😊
Congrats on 101k you so deserve it!🎉😊 My favorite alternative for dryer sheets are these wool balls from Buff City Soaps they scent it with essential and re scent it for us! Also You have inspired me to choose cleaner products and start Minimalism I already feel better about my choices! Thanks!💛💛
I love using my homemade all purpose cleaner and shower cleaner made with water, vinegar, lemon essential oil, hydrogen peroxide, and a few tsp of Dawn dish soap.
I’ve recently started bringing mesh produce bags to the grocery store and can’t believe what an easy swap it is. No more single-use plastic produce bags for me!
I love to use plain white vinegar in a spray bottle with a little bit of lemon juice to clean counters, sinks, mirrors--all surfaces! It saves money and I know it's a safe cleaner when I could even cook with it.
Tried out dryer balls, and I’m definitely never going back to the dryer sheets. Cheaper than rebuying them, and more sustainable! Interested in trying out these detergent strips.
Hi Christine congrats for 100k subscribers, I m new here, thanks so much for inspiring me ! My favorite cleaning swaps are all purpose cleaning spray, soap nuts for laundry & soap bars.
My favorite eco friendly cleaning swap is a scrubbing brush and dish soap block . I use it every day! Thank you Christine
my favorite eco friendly cleaning swap is the wooden cleaning brushes for the dishes and the wooden toilet brush..... it definitely makes cleaning so much more pleasant with beautiful things that are not harming the environment.
My favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap is taking a reusable ziplock bag, adding a little baking soda and vinegar then tying to the shower head for 2-3 hours. Absolutely! It's super important to use what you have, and to promote the circularity of all existing materials. Thanks for the tip and reminder (:

Congrats 🎊 My favorite swap is, after juicing them, using half lemons to descale the kettle and then using the rinds to scrub the sink clean! 🍋
Love the mop alternative and single paper towel from old clothes. I feel like that's something my mom did growing up and now I need to repick back up!

That’s awesome you have a Cuban mop! I haven’t seen one of those in a hot minute! I like to use vinegar and baking soda to clean everything.
Thanks for your inspiring important sharings of your knowledge!
My favorite eco-friendly swap is the orange peels vinegar all-pourpose cleaner...and now the season for oranges starts :)
Great ! I like the wool dryer ball the best!
Vinegar and baking soda for sure. I never realized how useful it was to clean out the randomest stains in my bathtub!
By far, the bar soap is my favorite! Thank you so much for creating such beautiful content!
100k is so exciting!! My favorite swap is rags over paper towels!! They are so much better at cleaning anyways.
Christine, thank you so much for providing a relaxing place to end my day of teaching. I no longer dry my laundry in a tumble dryer. Love the clean smell of sun dried clothes. I live in South Africa where we have sun most of the year! :)

I love my wool dryer balls and Plaine Products bathroom products (self-cleaning? Haha) 😄 thanks for the soothing vid and congrats on 100k 🌿
Great Video! Thanks for sharing! I'm a vinegar-baking soda fan. It's amazing how many things you can do with those 2 products!
Congratulations! I love watching your videos! My favorite swap is the all purpose cleaner with vinegar.
Congrats and thanks. One of my favorite cleaning tips is to use less than what the brand directions say. Most of the time it has helped me to clean well enough by reducing the amount of soap (as an example) which the label says.
My favorite is the wool dryer balls
I just got wool dryer balls and am so excited to try them!
Thank you Rosa!
Amazing video ❤️ one of my favorite swap is the all purpose cleaner! its really effective
i’m so happy for you!! and so happy to see so many people excited about living more sustainabily. :)
my favorite swap is the paper towel swap! since moving out of my parents i’ve been loving the freedom to choose how much waste my home creates.
Congratulations Christine 🎉🎉
My husband works in the field and would love to try the Wool dryer balls and the stain stick 😊
My favorite swap is reusing old clothes as wipers and scrubbers
Definitely vinegar! It completely changed my cleaning routine! It’s insanely versatile!
Thank you!! (:
Hello Christine. This is Sara, from Portugal. My favorite swap, at the moment, is the reuse of old t-shirts for cleaning cloths ou for little cleasing pads that i sewed to use for my face, and the face of my mother and some friends! take care*
Congrats! I have started to use vinegar and baking soda for cleaning and I got rid of the chemicals. Now my senior cat with respiratory issues no longer suffers when I clean house.
I love using vinegar for cleaning purposes and lots of other things. Congrats for hitting 100k!
Congrats on 100k subscribers!! My favorite cleaning swap is making my own all purpose cleaner with some rosemary from my garden. It smells incredible. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next video!
Oh that sounds lovely! Thanks Samantha (:
Congrats, I love your contents, your video are so relaxing but also so relate to important topics!
My favourite zero waste switch is using vinegar and water to clean, because it's also toxic-free and it saves a lot of money. Plus it works so well!!!
Congratulations Christine! My favorite cleaning swap was the wool dryer balls. I stumble upon them during a bi-weekly grocery run, and that saved me from a box of dryer sheets! As I'm still a work-in-progress minimalist, it's definitely a step forward to change :)
That's awesome Faye! (:
Congratulations Christine!
I make my own soap from olive oil from our olive trees and i use for bath, home and loundry clean. 🙂
I've been using Tru Earth strips for several months and love them. Plus, they are Canadian :). A caveat with vinegar: It should not be used with natural surfaces such as marble, granite, or stone, as it can erode these surfaces. Vinegar can also damage silicone seals and gaskets.
That's awesome Louise! And thanks for the tip (;
I'm kinda hooked on hih concentrated detergents with oxy clean in it, but I wanna swap. Are the strips just as good? Also does the strip size depend on the laundry size?
Congrats 🎉 I love the paper towel swap out!
My favourite was the dishwasing block!! I use bulk dishwasher but this is a better solution
I purchased a mop with reusable, washable pads that make dry or wet mopping a breeze. I like that it uses little water (no bucket) and works with my homemade (vinegar, water, and essential oil) cleaner.
happy 100k Christine! Keep making more vids cus we love em!
I love the simplicity of vinegar and water solution. What else is there to beat that? Congrats to you and your channel. ❤🍾
Soap nuts for laundry for sure. Also hang drying all of my clothes instead of using a dryer. Saves electricity, and I feel more conscious with the care I put into the clothes I own. It also encourages me to keep a small wardrobe. 😊
My favorite eco-friendly cleaning swap was probably the dish soap. I’ve been trying to be eco-friendly and have been trying to make big changes.
I just got a plastic free soap bar and compostable brush for my dishes. So excited!
Congrats on 101k you so deserve it!🎉😊
My favorite alternative for dryer sheets are these wool balls from Buff City Soaps they scent it with essential and re scent it for us! Also You have inspired me to choose cleaner products and start Minimalism I already feel better about my choices! Thanks!💛💛
That's wonderful Jayla! And thank you (:
simply by christine omg you replied Hii
I love using my homemade all purpose cleaner and shower cleaner made with water, vinegar, lemon essential oil, hydrogen peroxide, and a few tsp of Dawn dish soap.
I’ve recently started bringing mesh produce bags to the grocery store and can’t believe what an easy swap it is. No more single-use plastic produce bags for me!
I love your channel. I love using water; drops of dish soap and lemon essential oil for a great smelling and cleaning general cleaner.
Interested in trying out these detergent strips.
my favorite swap is using old t-shirts as cleaning rags. it’s way better than throwing away an old t-shirt :)
Hi Christine congrats for 100k subscribers, I m new here, thanks so much for inspiring me ! My favorite cleaning swaps are all purpose cleaning spray, soap nuts for laundry & soap bars.
Welcome Ananda! Great to have you here and thanks so much (:
