I used the all purpose cleaner on the chrome in my shower and even gave it 10 min ‘dwell time’ , but the cloudy water spots remain . It dingifies(maybe a made -up word) the whole look . How to shine bathroom hardware , kitchen gooseneck faucets and even in door refrigerator water/ice dispensers they get spotted and generally dirty looking . I just want things to glimmer and shine 🤩
I actually work as a housekeeper. First job of this kind at a high-end property, and amazing compensation. Oh, and only male in my group! It's such a treat every time she posts a new video on her channel.🙃
I've used mostly DIY cleaners for the past few years and I see no reason to change that. It saves me money, is more eco friendly and since I get the ingredients I use in bulk, I'm never without a cleaning product. I 100% recommend doing it, if you can. 😊
I made all of these cleaners a couple of weeks ago and they are all amazing. I would also like to add a recipe that I found for a spray deodorizer. 2 ounces of water 1 ounce of rubbing alcohol 30 drops of your favourite essential oil(I actually did 20 drops of peppermint and 10 drops of vanilla extract and it is amazing makes my house smell like chocolate mint ice cream). The all purpose cleaner is definitely the one I use the most and the one for vinyl flooring because I have vinyl plank in my kitchen and bathroom.
I use my home mades since i’ve met you on youtube in 2014. I was obsessed with your videos🤣 they were and are till today a great inspiration for me. My home isn’t so tidy and clean as yours, but if I have to clean something I do it your way and I’m happy that it’s more simple that I thought before. Thanks to you and CMS crew💜
Your book opened my eyes in so many ways. I make a lot of my cleaners myself. I've only returned to buying toilet bowl cleaner, because we have very hard water, and the DIY recipe didn't cut it. I make my own all-purpose, bathtub, glass/mirror, as well as electronics cleaners after your recipes. They work wonderfully.
DIY cleaning products are definitely the best ! and for so many reasons - whenever a specific product isn't required. Thanks for the recap of these essentials to have handy !
Love DIY and have used them for almost a decade. Your glass/stainless recipe from your book with the cornstarch is the best and a favorite of both me and my bi-weekly cleaning lady!
DIY mostly.. haven't purchased a cleaner in years. I'm loving the DIY dish soap using Sal Suds!! It feels incredibly empowering and freeing to be less dependent on big box stores.
Other than vinegar and water, I used store bought cleaners. Then found your videos! Switched to DIY cleaners following your recipes (bought your book and cloths). Love that we re using less chemicals and saving money! Thanks Melissa 👏👍
I came to your channel to learn how to clean, not wasting time with cleaning and to learn to replace store bought cleaning products. Thank you for knowledge. Much love.❤
I just started using Mrs Meyers cleaning solution and love the scents and the fact you can buy refills. Just water and a glass cleaning towel that was an amazing find. All microfiber towels no more paper towels for cleaning. Trying to do my part
Just started using some diy cleaners with great results. Our new shower came with a guarantee that will be nullified if harsh cleaners are used on it. I use equal parts water and white vinegar with some dawn dishwashing liquid. Works great! Also started making glass cleaner.
I've recently started using more DIY cleaners. I have a few store-bought cleaners, but I love that these are cheaper, just as effective and I can help the environment. Win-Win-Win!
Melissa, I have started making my own cleaning products using your DIY Recipes and I absolutely love them!! I have watched all of your videos and purchased your Makers Mop as well - you are the best!!
I love your channel .I started switching to natural cleaners years ago. My family have severe allergies. I also put fresh lemon juice in my cleaners of white vinegar and water to clean our microwaves ect. I think it smells better .
I use mostly a mix of vinegar and water and either lemon juice or essential oils for cleaning just about everything. But I will definitely be using your all purpose cleaner. Going to check out the other cleaner recipes as well! Thanks so much!
This is new for me. Im excited about trying this...the enviornmental protection...the idea that I put it together...and it surely can be lower cost than purchasing all of my cleaning products!
I’ve been watching you since the beginning! Thank you for sharing everything you know!! :-) I’m now a mother of 2 and this helps us save money! Thank you!!!!!
I love diy cleaners! My amber glass spray bottles and essential oils make cleaning enjoyable and feel like a sacred ritual that also cleans negative energy and purifies everything. Thanks for your great channel!
I am a believer in DIY cleaning products. Because there is just sonething about doing it yourself. Simple solutions are the best! I decided this after I began following Clean My Space.💜 DIY is the essential oil of life.
For my every day cleans I love using diy cleaners like your all purpose cleaner. When I do a deep cleans, I prefer store bought cleaners like BKF or Microban (especially with the holidays coming up).
My favorite DIY cleaner? Plain water. I’ve been cleaning my bathroom mirrors with a microfiber towel and plain water for the past two years or so (thanks to this channel, btw, you inspired me!).
Have your mop and use it weekly. It’s great! Bought your book 3 years ago to clean my house more efficiently and in less time. Since that time use your DIY homemade cleaners listed in the book and love them. They work well and cost much less than what one buys in the store. The added bonus for people who have allergies is you don’t cough a lot due to the chemicals in store bought cleansers.
Since discovering your channel, I've started using DIY cleaners for my general, daily cleaning. I use the "floor" cleaner on everything. The vinegar helps eliminate the odors from toilets (and commodes) and the surrounding floors (luxury vinyl and tile) safely. But, nothing beats Method's All Purpose (not the anti-bac, that leaves a sticky residue) to degrease my kitchen (I even dilute it by 50%). AND... BKF and BacOut have their place in my arsenal too. (PSA: I used BacOut on white grout and it changed my life. I hope it's not secretly dissolving my grout. But holy smokes, better than Soft Scrub w/ bleach, better than BKF, better than anything I've tried.) For dusting, I usually use my pillow cases before throwing them in the wash, but when I want be extra, I have Method's Wood Cleaner (is that what it's called? whatever, the almond scent) that I use with old pillowcases.
I’ve been using your recipes for two years now, and your microfiber cloths too! The glass one is miraculous… But I occasionally use more abrasive products for specific problems.
Thanks to you, I’ve been making my cleaners since I discovered your channel several years ago. My 3 go-to are: all purpose, glass and mirror, and toilet bowl recipes. I use the toilet bowl cleaner in my sink and tub too! Thank you! 😍
I'm unable to use chemical cleaners as I've developed sensitive airways over time. I start coughing & sneezing as soon as I start spraying. Same with white vinegar & eucalyptus oil. Years of repeated use has caused this issue & that's why I now prefer to use Nue Clean for all my cleaning. Odourless, yet tough enough to remove all dirt, soap scum & germs from most surfaces, only using water, salt & a drop of white vinegar. Unfortunately, these products are no longer available to buy, but I made sure I bought enough products to keep me cleaning for at least another 6 years. However, I still love the fragrance of essential oils. So calming & soothing🥰
I like using DIY cleaners, except when it comes to the toilet. The toilet just gives me the heebiejeebies 😄 The absolute best DIY cleaner I've ever used....a few drops of Dawn dish soap, sprinkle of baking soda, and splash of water in the tub. Seriously, it cuts through everything and works a million times better than any store bought cleaner I've tried. I don't know why I put off trying it for so long. So easy and cheap!
I don't ever buy window cleaner since following you!!! I ❤ the water & white vinegar solution for glass & mirrors!!! I've ordered a new mop. I can't wait too use it with the D.I.Y solutions you say Melissa!!! Thank you. ❤ from the UK. Xxx
I like to colour code the spray bottles with the cleanser in it. If the bottles are clear of opaque I try to get nozzles in colours and add a few drops of food colouring. That way the glass cleaner jug and solution is, yup, blue. I use green for my antibacterial solution just because green kinda looks germy, lol. And so forth. It helps family members to easily recognise which is which.
I have been using diy cleaners for about a decade. I also use plain white vinegar on my washing machine's liquid fabric softener dispenser. It is an amazing fabric softener and non toxic
I love making my own recipes. I’ve learned which ones work and which ones I have to buy. But I save lots of $ by doing floors with hot water and 1 tsp powder tide on most floors.
I'm using up what I already have for cleaners and fully intend to go FIY once they're depleted. I just cleaned the windows and they came out great using your DIY recipe!
I have been using diy cleaners that I learned from you for years. I love them and have paid next to nothing for them. I even have a favorite bottle (LA AWESOME) and sprayer (SHOUT). So glad I came across your channel. I never have to use vinegar again. Thanks to hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol.
I enjoy cleaning my windows and mirrors with vinegar (something my mother taught me), but I also love the smell of bleach in the house. Something about it to me says disinfected and clean.
Been making my own cleaning products for about 7 years. I make everything but laundry soap. Also make all our body care products too. Quick note about the window cleaner, while EOs are optional most of the time, they are needed for glass. Glass is full of tiny holes and the water vinegar can get stuck in those tiny holes, the eos actually stop that from happening.
I've tried so many glass cleaners. "Streak free!" Yeah, right. Very streaky. I don't have microfiber cloths. I got rid of them. I dislike them for many reasons. I use old washcloths for cleaning, and I didn't have high hopes for Melissa's glass cleaner recipe, but I gave it a try. It looked streaky while I was doing it, so I was prepared to be disappointed. I went back over it with a dry washcloth. I am absolutely shocked. My bathroom mirror is cleaner than it's ever been, and NO fogginess or streaks! I keep going in there just to look at it lol. I logged onto youtube just to make this comment. I'm actually excited to clean my windows....Thank you Melissa!
SAME! I just tried the glass cleaner last night for my bathroom and I ended up cleaning every glass surface in my house because it worked SO GOOD. Before, I used my all purpose Meyers cleaner because I've never remembered to buy Windex. The Meyers always left streaks no matter if I used paper towels, microfiber, whatever. And I don't have newspapers for that old school hack. This is an absolute game changer
I love the scent of fresh clean linen. I can easily find air fresheners with linen scent, but what essential oils do I use to achieve that smell of sunshine?
When you advised to add essential oils to your cleaning products because cleaning sucks and the oild elevate the cleaning experience..I FELT THAT 🤣 I was cleaning yesterday with some all purpose cleaner with lavender and I've never felt happier while cleaning!!!

I’m currently experimenting with making my own cleaners, I’m ph testing them and trying different mixes :)
Good stuff

Help me a lot on cleaning, I stop buying so many chemicals products.🙏
I've recently started using more DIY cleaners. I have a few store-bought cleaners, but I love that these are cheaper, just as effective and I can help the environment. Win-Win-Win!
I love using the vinegar and water for my windows and mirrors! Is the cleanest they've ever been and so easy to maintain.

After you clean with the aforementioned mix, do you rinse the area ? Considering the mix has soap in it ?
I Also add vinegar. Its amazing.
@Clean My Space .....I really like how you mentioned that excess bottles are a waste to the environment. Great tip 👍
I don't ever buy window cleaner since following you!!! I ❤ the water & white vinegar solution for glass & mirrors!!!
I've ordered a new mop. I can't wait too use it with the D.I.Y solutions you say Melissa!!! Thank you. ❤ from the UK. Xxx

I use vokdka and distilled water to clean most things. Colloidal silver and vinegar at times as well
I enjoy cleaning my windows and mirrors with vinegar (something my mother taught me), but I also love the smell of bleach in the house. Something about it to me says disinfected and clean.
Since I have come across this channel it is absolutely honestly my favourite lol.

Melissa Maker: You don't have to mop floors that often.

Yup, totally agree.
i love DIY cleaners! I do splurge on Mrs. Meyers products occassionally though.
Nice one, Michelle!
I love the diy cleaners! I use your all purpose and glass cleaners as well as your liquid soap scum buster! So good!
I love the scent of fresh clean linen. I can easily find air fresheners with linen scent, but what essential oils do I use to achieve that smell of sunshine?
