    Many community fridges (which have become much more common in the past year) let you donate plastic utensils from takeout if they're sealed/wrapped! That's been my go-to when a restaurant includes them in my order.

    Sadly zero grocery is only in California area, Nowhere any other state, especially my state of Michigan. bummer. When I have to get a plastic grocery bag, I cut it up and crochet a bunch of them into plastic sleeping mats and rugs for the homeless. it's not perfect BUT its helping someone out, the mats and rugs can be sprayed off with a hose if dirty and I've used mine for years with no issues. when shopping I tend to use a larger tote as a purse so I can just put my groceries into it. Weather doesn't allow for me to take a cartload of groceries outside to fill up my bags. Still waiting for spring here. I want to get gardening.

      I would check out Wally Shop since they ship nationwide (: But that's a wonderful way to upcycle plastic bags! Love that you are helping others while you are at it.

      I live in Michigan and have been bringing my bags in the store. I just either use self checkout or bag them myself after the cashier scans it. The big grocery chain that starts with M has shop and scan and that makes it easy to use your own bags

      I heard Michigan doesnt recycle glass. Is that true? I know a county my parents live in here in FL, they dont include glass. I'm trying to see what funds or what needs to be done to improve our recycling system nationally. All states at least the 4 basics: glass, plastics, metals, paper/cardboard.

    I love how she talked about how we can help the planet as individuals while talking about demanding accountability from the big corporations (producers of about 71% of carbon footprint). Such a wonderful content! 💕

    One thing that I'm really looking forward to is farmer's markets. They've been sort of uninteresting over the winter, but now that we're moving into warmer weather, I look forward to biking over to the farmer's market. (Cycling to Safeway just isn't the same lol.)

    COVID has been tricky with lots of single use items, but I’ve found some new rhythms in life to make my impact less. I basically had a low-buy year without planning it!

    Hello! I would love if you could talk about how you were able to keep on loving the things you have once you have purchased them. In order to be sustainable, I struggle with finding items I will be deeply satisfy with, I tend to switch style or to want to upgrade what I already have. Do you have any tip with that?

    Minimalism life to the max! btw, I feel that people who live a minimalist life also have their room in simple colors, such as white, grey, black, and perhaps brown. Is that also on purpose?

    • @simplybychristine
      @simplybychristine  3 роки тому +3

      For some people it is, but it's not a requirement. I navigate towards neutral colors because it makes me feel calm and it's easier to coordinate (:

    Another lovely video. With covid our waste in single-use products at work (I work in a bank) and at home has increased. We recycle as much as we can and try not to waste food. Unfortunately, shops have been closed for a few months, so the only option is to buy books/clothes/food and have ite delivered. We try to do as much as we can.

    Thanks for this video Christine, I'm really looking forward to your videos for Earth month.... was wondering if you could maybe talk about your plants and how you take care of them. I will be getting married soon and starting my own home with my soon-to-be husband, and I'm not really a plant lady, so which ones would you reccommend? Thanks in advance :D

    • @simplybychristine
      @simplybychristine  3 роки тому +1

      The easiest to take care of is probably the pothos plant, but the philodendron is also easy! They grow quickly and don't need too much maintenance, but my number one tip is to not overwater. I've ruined more plants from overwatering than underwatering!
