I think of all the types of production he has managed to do well on...from the mid 90's post boom bap to the late 90's Timbaland style stuff, the soulful Kanye beats, the r&b r Kelly stuff, the dirty South stuff with ugk, and even the jazz influence on 4:44. He has never been my favourite rapper but few are as versatile

I feel like there's a criteria lacking. One that would include metaphors, punchlines, alliterations, etc. Maybe replace vocabulary by wordplay (or just add wordplay). Wordplay would include vocabulary, since it's what words you choose and how you use them, but it'd be larger as well, because vocabulary is just about the words you use, whereas wordplay is how you use them.
Also, originality and innovation ressemble each other a little too much. You could rebrand originality to substance maybe (use of concepts, storytelling, subject matter, etc.) and keep either innovation or originality to mean "does he bring something new to the game or is he mostly influenced by others?"
Y’all def need to do these. The hip hop community been speculating on criteria forever so to see someone actually putting it into practice again is great. Y’all should do an average of each of y’all columns and overall to give a DEHH score to put out on socials

unrelated sidebar, but maybe for kicking off the video, you can have a graphic up that shows everyone's scores so you don't have to do the round robin, you can just get right into anything that's unusual/surprising and then take the convo from there

I expect Kendrick to get the highest grade of anyone in these discussions, period.

I like this new show idea. In terms of framing the discussion or explanation for each category: what about the idea of starting the conversations with whomever gave the highest and lowest scores within a category? That would allow you to talk about the full range of opinions without making the conversations tedious. Let everyone say their scores, but have the high scorer(s) and the low scorer(s) start the discussion portion. It makes room to discuss disagreements in a pretty efficient way, I think.
Innovative shouldve been replaced with storytelling or wordplay. Innovative is basically a remixed version of Originality. Either way wordplay and storytelling should be categories
Jay Z is one of the most versatile of all time imo. Want a club record? He got you. Want some bars? He got you. Want something political? No problem. Want female record? Easy. Want some street sh*t? Too easy. Super versatile. Also the disrespect for Vol 3 was CRAZY!!!!

In my opinion, you guys could swap innovation with influence. If innovation is supposed to have ground-breaking or super unique expectations with it like Myke said, I don’t think it would be fair because only maybe a handful of rappers meet that criteria. Influence feels more inclusive of more categories like business, culture, trend-setting, etc.
If i add it up, I’d prob give Jay a 7.5. Great songs, not as many great albums, not too versatile in subject matter but definitely a trendsetter with hella X factors. Loved the discourse I mean discussion 😂😂
