Can't remember the first hip hop album I bought(there's several likely suspects, probably Run DMC), but the first tape I got was a from a classmate in 7th grade homeroom burnt from the radio of Dougie Fresh and Slick Rick "La Di Dadi" and "The Show" that has me hooked.
Below the heavans is one of my favorite albums ever but "juice and drank" I usually skip tbh
I just wanted to say that the album you have as you’re profile picture is also a classic Common’s - Be is still one of best hip hip albums I’ve ever heard. 👍🏼

For me Saigon's "Greatest story never told" produced by Just Blaze had no skippables. And the way Just and Saigon segues each song and theme into the next one was amazing. But sadly record company bs shelved this amazing album. It deserved more shine.
Good one. Great album.
And he got a Jay verse on it, that surprised me.
I love that album so much. Stayed in heavy rotation for years.
