I think this would help conversations be more interesting since there wouldn’t be confusion with what things mean. 2) Overall score being an actual average of the rest of the numbers. As far as hip-hop emcees, I would give Jay a low 9 and DOOM (RIP Supervillain) a high 9. Both are legendary to the whole scene, but DOOM produced his own beats. And he never sold out.
Rod's "pettiness" was the reason Ctown gave for not giving ratings in the reviews like Fantano does. They said you might give a rating and then be held to it when the next album comes out

Can I give a suggestion for how to revamp the categories? I feel like you can add and merge some of these things, and they can be more clearly defined too. Vocabulary: How many unique words do you use. Flow: How effectively do you ride the beat, how rythmic you are with your words. Lyricism: How clever and technical are you with your bars, how effectively do you utilize literally techniques. How intricate do you get with lines. Delivery: How do you say your bars, how much emotion do you put into your lines, how compelling are they. How effective do you convey the themes. Do they sound convincing? How powerful is it? Presence: How noticiable are you, how much do you cut through. Your charisma, your voice, how cool you sound. Creativity: The overall idea, topic, and concept for your songs and albums. How original it is. Craftsmanship: How do you structure your songs and albums, the details you put in songs. How you build your songs and albums out. Versatility: How many different styles you show. How do you switch up your rapping. Musicality: How musically inclined is your work. The music theory behind it, how you make it sound. How melodic and harmonious you are. Overall: Considering everything together.
Love the new content. I do think y'all should collectively specify what exactly each topic means so each member wont grade based on a different understanding of the category.
The Presence conversation raises an important point that should be part of the rubric: stage show. Of course, you have to have seen someone live to give that justice, but it's an important part of how good a rapper is. There are rappers with amazing albums who have bad stage shows, and vice versa. For example, no one would say U-God is the best rapper in the Wu, but he is one of their best performers.
Good stuff. I hope you guys cover some rappers you, or some of you, don't like/respect that much in this too. Also it'd be cool if you lock down what the meanings mean because I agree with Myke that Doom isn't super versatile but the one Ken interpreted it made sense from how he looked at the meaning.
