    Sorry, but when I was taught many years ago……., Road position is everything! So, at 0:46 you are so far over , as if lane splitting how can the car see you in their mirror? They can’t and if you’re honest you can’t see their face in their mirror so that means you are in a blind spot ! Sit in the middle of your lane or move to left lane and position yourself so you can be seen! Defensive riding!

      Road snakes!

    • @thomascriviera5779
      @thomascriviera5779 Рік тому

      Yes, they do. But the numer of times I came across one that starts halfway into a corner will surprise you. And yes, you'll be yelling: "Then look forward you dumbass." And I will say: I do, but what about when you are driving behind a car on a new road while already taking it easy and with enough distance between? There is nowhere to go for a beginner rider like me... Example: Near my house on a motorway there is this tarsnake that is close to 10km long (YES, I counted it). Positioned on the 'slow' or right lane, exactly where we get tought to ride within the lane. Left of the middle but not in the tiretrack... Guess where else you can go then? To the right if the lane where everybody will pass you as if they don't see you i.e. dangerously. Or on the left lane where you'll become a bowlingpin for the next speeding asshole or bitch in an expensive car or Transit van in that lane...
      I guess I don't have to state more about why I hate riding on motorways...

    • @rbwannasee
      @rbwannasee Рік тому +1

      @@thomascriviera5779 I rode for the best part of 30 years. While always aware of it, I certainly didn't obsess over it or ever blame it for any mishaps I had. In the situation shown in this video, his best option would be to let the bike come more upright, ride over it, allow the bike to slow, then begin the turn again on the left side of the stuff. You can't always hold ideal lane position.

    • @DragonRiderProductions
      @DragonRiderProductions Рік тому +1

      @@rbwannasee That technique would be good. There's a real twisty mountain road up to a lake we ride a few times a year. Often looks like a spiderweb of tar snakes, and when temps are near 100°f it makes for an interesting ride.

    • @gnarthdarkanen7464
      @gnarthdarkanen7464 Рік тому

      @@thomascriviera5779 Where the hell else do you even ride??? It can't be dirt and trails "off-road" or you'd already know how it feels for your ass to get squishy and NOT freak right out about it... Tar snakes are rarely a "major hazard" unless they rattle your cage enough to lose YOUR sh*t...
      If you want to be TRULY cautious, rbwannassee is right about the technique... OF COURSE it might include some trailbraking (not entirely a noob' skill) to accomplish consistently... BUT keeping to the conservative side of your speedo' will help.
      In my area, wherever you have asphalt, you have tar snakes... period. AND half the time (or so it seems) the asphalt can just... stop... go from nice, wide, flat blacktop... to gravel and mud with about a 4 to 8 inch drop-off... AND FUNNZIES ENOUGH... right in the g** d*** MIDDLE of a turn... on the crest of a hill, BLIND no less... Enjoy and GOOD LUCK!!! Most such roads are already posted 45 mph, but at least half the traffic out there is already doing 50 minimum, and a good chunk can't see fit to go below 55 or 60, so if you take it TOO EASY, you get run the f*ck over...
      Yeah, if I couldn't do every low-speed drill in anybody's book on criss-crossing staircases covered in gravel and marbles, I wouldn't bother getting out of my driveway. Roads are like that in every direction for 40 miles before you get consistently decent asphalt...
      SO as rbwannassee ALSO pointed out, "You don't always get to stay in the optimal lane position on the road."... That's very true, and it's WHY we don't treat roads like a track. We have to scout roads out before there's a place to even practice things like "line selection". Otherwise, all you can really do is keep a conservative pace for your skills and when encountering tar snakes, do your best to take up the WIDEST side of clean asphalt... As they wander up to your path, slow and cross them DELIBERATELY AND SMOOTHLY... AND generally, other than an occasional "butt wiggle" you won't get any real interference...
      In this particular clip, the rider was a tad hot for the skill and nerve, and the "butt wiggle" lost them their sh*t... SO they froze up and went wide... as riders tend to do when they lose their sh*t in the middle of turns. I did it when I was a noob to novice, and just about everyone else who's ridden any length of time has done it just the same. Once you get used to the idea that YOU CAN REALLY TRUST THE BIKE TO SELF CORRECT under those conditions, too... It's easier to relax, and just never be so hard-over into a turn that the tar snake can throw you off the bike. ;o)

Not paying attention to the road condition, almost drops the bike, speeding on a residential road with driveways and cross streets and drops the bike in a turn claims its slick , passing stopped cars on the right next to construction cones illegally, car honks, he gets pissed. I think all driving courses in cars should have bike awareness init somewhere, some of them people in the cars thing the roads all there’s and nothing or nobody else should get in there way. Before you all slate me i’m a driver and a ride so if I see a fellow biker coming up behind me I indicate and pull over so they can pass safely and if someone is in front of me I warn them by flashing my lights it’s simple people

    Sadly or disgustingly some absence minded drivers have no sensory perception awareness of their car’s outer edge dimensional displacement on the road in relation to distinguishing characteristics distances between other road users and themselves as a result their accidental ignorance may cause unintentionally attention to their lack of attentiveness and the ensuing mayhem caused may have serious repercussion consequences
