    This looks like US. Double yellow does not mean can't turn. In the US it means only that you can not pass a car over it.
    Quit encouraging the belief that yellow line means everyone is on rails and the biker doesn't have to pay attention.

    0:48 the biker was in the wrong. An indicator is not requesting permission, an indicator is indicating intent. There was plenty of space, the biker saw in plenty of time. A simple reduction of throttle to allow the driver in was the right thing to do, and move on. Nothing needed to happen, it didn't need to escalate.

    • @TOXRaizou
      @TOXRaizou Рік тому

      You and me we have a different definition of "plenty of space". I do agree that you gotta anticipate and eventually let him merge into ours but that's only because that driver just don't know how to make space between him and the next car.
      Just think about the 2 seconds rule. Pretty important and it's something most of the drivers are lacking. Proper way is : white car should check his blind spot, and if he does, he waits and goes behind the bike if he wants to turn to the left. There's definitely no space between the bike and the black truck because there's only 1 sec between them. Safe distance is paramount.

    • @TOXRaizou
      @TOXRaizou Рік тому +1

      Either the bike had to accelerate in order to let the white's car know he's here, and risk being too close of the Black's truck, or he has to slow down to let him merge, but then that white's car is too close to the black truck and, more importantly, it annoys the others vehicles that was in that lane.

    2:15. I just had this conversation with my brother as he sees no fault in cutting off lanes from a turn. This is exactly why you don't do it. I am sure the driver of the car was not expecting him to try and take the lane farthest from him and the bike was in the cars blind spot pretty much from the second he entered the road. Good example. Later, the rider sued, and the judge accepted the argument that the driver was startled and reflexively yanked the wheel over. Not only did the rookie lose his bike and a fair amount of blood, he ended up having to pay to repair the car, and got the nickname "Whackjob" among local motorcycle riders.

    • @lilynorthover8378

      On a roundabout in the UK, unless indicated by arrows on the road, the left lane is for left turn or straight on. The right lane is for right turns or more than 180° turns. In multiple exit roundabouts, there are usually road markings.
      In this case RB is in the left, marked straight on, lane. The car is in the right, marked straight on, lane. What the car did is illegal and extremely dangerous, cutting between vehicles. If you make a mistake on positioning, you are supposed to carry on either round the roundabout or straight on until it is safe to correct your mistake.
      Don worry, most British drivers don't know how to use them either 😂 But RB did nothing wrong and coped brilliantly, as I would expect 😊

      Vision is just one critical component when operating a motor vehicle, hand eye coordination and reflexes are much much slower in the elderly and therefore making them a danger to everyone else on the road.
      We had to tell our father he can't drive anymore in his mid 80's because he was driving way to fast. His complaint was that everybody else was driving way too slow. Mind you, his reflexes/reactions whilst driving were very good, possibly better than a lot of younger drivers, but he was just too reackless lol. We were afraid he might take out some innocent bystander or driver one day.

    Tip #1, don't drive the smallest vehicle on the road in someone's blind spot and be shocked when they merge over.
    Tip #2, If a biker ever hits my mirror, don't be shocked if I hit you back. What gives them the right to destroy someone's property?
    Riding a bike is 100% a defensive adventure, if you want to stay safe and aren't looking for trouble or to catch a clip on camera.

    1st clip is interesting, don't people recommend keeping hands off if you get a death wobble? Not the same but still, i thought the bike would balance itself

    • @MimicingSassy
      @MimicingSassy Рік тому +2

      In general. The bike will want to keep itself upright and most times there's not much you can do when it starts to wobble. Although, in that clip it looked like the bike was doing what my bike used to do when the head bearing was loose. In my case, adding some weight to the bars would help stabilize it but it wouldn't get worse than that.

      "don't people recommend keeping hands off if you get a death wobble?"
      Instead of listening to what people say, you need to use some common sense to solve a simple problem.
      Allowing the handlebars to keep wobbling and sort itself out is akin to playing russian roulette. You're allowing a piece of machinery to decide your fate? You need to grab the handlebars to have some sort of control even if it's just a little so it doesn't wander and crash.

      @@metarugia3981 I don't know if you know this, but it wasn't me in the clip. No need for the condescending attitude. I'm making parallels between what people say and what I saw on the clip. In some situations I've seen keeping hands off actually corrected the wobble, and putting too much force on the handle bars was actually detrimental. I'm just curious as to the difference. I suspect the slower speed and maybe not much throttle could be why.

      @@metarugia3981 That "piece of machinery" is better at what it does than any rider sitting on top of it. Take your nonsense somewhere else. And just so you'll know, that was no death wobble. It was an irregular road surface.

    • @impalaSS65
      @impalaSS65 Рік тому

      Tried it on a road bike, that was prone to it up to 60kph, due to a case rack that was cracked.
      Once it started wobbling, it only got worse - until I dampended it with my hands on the bars. It would have gone from lock to lock if I didn't dampen it with my hands - or lower the speed.
      Prior to that I only experienced it as a newbie mx-rider going flat out on a sand straight sitting to close to the tank. Moving back on the saddle (shifting centre of gravity rearwards) fixed that particular case.
