ok ..I just happened across your channel. I have been looking for a keto crust that is flaky and 😋 delicious! well you've done it!!! hallelujah. Thank you I made quiche it was amazing. now I can make my husband sweet potato pie. for the holidays 😂
I don't have, nor do I like coconut flour. So I was deciding whether to use lupini flour or just add extra almond flour, when I got the idea to use 2 tbsp of vanilla keto chow. This was for a pumpkin pie. It looks good and I'll let you know how it tastes. This is my first attempt at making a pie crust. Pre-keto I just bought Pillsbury crust.
Haha, pre-keto I also just bought Pillsbury crust 😂 The Keto Chow is an interesting substitution, but I bet it works great! Please let me know once you give it a taste test!
@@HealthyAmbitions The pie was really good and the crust was excellent. Much better than store-bought wheat-based crust. The important thing is that the kids loved it and didn't even notice it was sugar free.
Hey Bonnie, once the recipes are published on my website, I always include a recipe card with macro info....I'm just usually too excited to share the recipe to wait for the recipe to be published on the website before uploading to UA-cam, lol You can plug the ingredients into something like MyFitnessPal or Carb Manager, or Cronometer to figure it up though ;)
Yes!! In fact I have a ton of disposable pie pans being delivered today so I can batch create a bunch of pie crust to freeze. If freezing, I would not bake first....freeze as the unbaked dough in the pie pan, wrapped in plastic (and maybe an additional layer of foil over that), and wait to bake the crust, when you are ready to make the pie. Although, still bake the crust on it's own for 10 minutes before adding the filling :)
I totally forgot to mention that, lol. Yes, they are 9-inch and fairly shallow. I need to figure out the measurements of ingredients for my bigger and deeper pie pans which I need for chocolate pie!

What temperature do you bake these at and for how long thank you
Can I make pie crust ahead of time?
Absolutely!! I’ve made the pie crust up to 2 days ahead, wrapped in plastic wrap and put in the fridge until I was ready to make the filling
Thank you

@@HealthyAmbitions excellent!
Salted butter?
Always 😉
I'm assuming you use 9" pie pans? If you mentioned that in the video, I'm sorry, I missed it :)

@@HealthyAmbitions thank you! Knowing your pan is shallow also helps :)
Do you need to prebake if making a pie that has to bake?
It's best to prebake the pie crust so it doesn't get too soggy when the pie filling is added and baked.
