I don't know if anyone noticed the BG music that certain influencers are using? It as this tone of "hope" and "salvation" type of music. Personally, I like it but somehow it sways your emotion into believing what the speaker is telling. This having said , some viewers may be agreeing into what the speaker is saying but not thinking critically. Both NAS and this person uses almost the same type of BG music. NAS though uses more different BG music on his videos. I don't claim that my observations are 100% correct. I used to edit videos when I was still in college and the thing that I've noticed is that, music plays an integral part in putting "emotions" into my videos. I am selecting BG music to set the tone of what I am trying to explain or tell. This is an approach to sort of convince my viewers (fellow students at that time) into believing what my report is all about. Some people though are probably not affected by BG music as much as I do LOL! I just noticed it just now because I like the bg music that this person is using. It has this "inspirational" feeling. If the creator already succeeded in putting a "tone" to play the emotions, then coupled that with charismatic delusional messages, the results can be dangerous. Some viewers will probably think that all the things that comes out of the speaker's mouth are all true but not realizing that they are already under the speaker's influence. So the lesson here is to "really" listen to the speaker. Try to think logically and never stop questioning the things that we are listening or watching to.
I don't care about western recognitions, and I definitely will not trying to butter up to them just for acknowledgement. I'm proud of my country & that's what important
"Proud" with some of its good achievement, yes. Just don't proud as a whole of it. A country is just an entity and blind pride may lead to "nationalism". Nationalism is never good.
24:41 the statement he's making is so stupid. US literally has 10x the population of Malaysia, so it is obvious it has more cases. and also, this is like saying Antartica is better than India, because India has more COVID-19 cases than Antartica. not saying countries with higher population always have higher COVID cases, but you have to think about it too.
u ever heard of per capita? atleast from the numbers hes showing its literally less than 0.3% of Malaysia's population while the US numbers are 1 percent although he may be manipulating different dates idk about that
ayyy a Sabahan, awesome and very informational contents bro, I don't really know who this dustin guy is but thank you for doing the hard work researching and explaining in the video, also stay safe bro👍
As a Malaysian, Covid literally sky rocketed over the past few months. During the first wave, almost every stayed at home and was starting to have the stay at home lifestyle. Nowadays, you can literally see the streets bustling with cars. No wonder our cases went up so high. Last year, school would have to close down if we even had 3 digits. Now our cases are 20k+ and the government is considering re-opening in September.

Tbh, I think this is an issue of personal opinions. Parralax has his own opinions and other Malaysians have their own opinion. Right or wrong is also not the issue cause everyone is entitled to their own issue. I just stumbled upon this channel from the Nas Daily video and I like how Parralax explains everything with valid points. About the no 15 clip i live in said area and one of my friends caught covid there and the police immediately put up the wires and just saying al Jazeera could have done better to speak with them instead of just showing the part where the police said "this is lockdown area no camera" he clearly isn't fluent in english i personally sent food to them and for the time al jazeera wasn't that great with how they did the documentary. But what malaysians did to Al Jazeera wasn't good at all and is very wrong.
God, this video need to be shared more. I remember how I couldn't take him seriously at all the moment he said the press have no right to record military action. You know what other country tried to ban media from covering military action? Israel. Just giving it a proper context how media is your best chance of holding people in power in check. This guy knows nothing about basic news media rights and laws. I was perplexed to see it went viral and when I saw it, it was missing a lot context and history. What aljazeera reported was the truth, we are racist towards migrant worker, that is nothing new. malaysians were just butt hurt to accept it because we were "proud" as a nation as our cases were low compared to the more "developed" usa. It's around this time, xenophobic sentiments against refugees were on the rise too.
Damnnn this video is a hard pill to swallow as malaysian tho... I need to pause and resume playing the video so many times just to be mentally prepared for the next truth bomb.. Anyway i think our country maybe lacking in certain area controlling this pendemic but i belive they try their best and we as malaysian should stop giving white people too much power over us and see them as what they are...
I knew there were Malaysian migrant workers in my country (Japan), didn’t know Malaysia in turn had such a huge problem with them. Though it was odd that you kept claiming Other Side Of The Truth has “white privilege”; is that even a thing in your country? Isn’t it just “expat privilege” in general?
20:46 putting this here for when I'm going through a bad day. First, that laugh is gold. Second, can't tell if he really works as a dentist or a comedian(a struggling one)
thx for this vid to clarify how this guy has been misleading about Malaysia....... he made this for clout and he seems very hypocritical in the video which is very sickening. Only people in Malaysia know exactly what's happening and he should do lots of research before even talk shit about us lol.
Honestly speaking, doing the military lockdown is one of the best thing Malaysia ever did to cope the covid19. Which is why, even though its harsh on all of us, we were able to keep going on, and not suicide because we have hope of getting the cases back down in our hearts. The current situation now is due to the fact that we have not been able to do a proper lockdown causing half bake reactions. Also the Al jeera or whatever it's called documentary was extremely controversial, because it came as a time where everyone is having a bad time and aren't ready to help others just yet at the expense of our own survival. People are naturally worried about their lives first and once we have spare, we will provide help to our neighbours. Focusing only on the pain of the illegal migrants, while ignoring/ not mentioning much of the suffering of Malaysian is what cause us all to dislike the video as it highlights the impression that only the illegal migrants are suffering the most from the lockdown. We know the illegal migrants are having a bad time in Malaysia and won't deny that Malaysia government is terrible. But at that time of the documentary, we were definitely doing well fighting covid19, and we don't need a demoralising documentary bringing us down. The documentary was of no help and only harm the covid19 fighting process. Only WHEN we are able to deal with the urgent covid situation, can we then direct the extra freeup resources to help for the illegal immigrant. If that documentary came at a later time when we were done with covid19, then it would be more meaningful for both Malaysian and international.
I'm not saying that it's wasn't his fault, but the full blame are actually to be on our own Malaysian's netizens overreacting when we get praises from other than Malaysian. while we were taught since childhood exactly how to get rid of praises by anybody for it'll going to made us slipped astray, but sadly that's what we're doing passionately in the open so flattered we seems in their eyes! the females not needed to mention are taking the leads!when will we learn to practice what we believe for the goodness of our own?
I always said this about this guy. He is an opportunist to garner views for his videos. Many vloggers who come to Malaysia can get overnight success easily by saying a few words of Bahasa or say how amazing it is here. But the truth is they have no experience living here or understand the country.
Common sense is a quality nowadays and critical thinking is even rarer, but whether one has these or not, a lot of people just choose to disable them when consuming online content. Whenever someone non-Malaysia praises Malaysia, Malaysians just flock over and stand by him/her without going through the content. Vice versa, when someone ridicule Malaysia, the same batch would lash out before attempting to take in the other sides point of view. Its either a developing nation or Asian thing, I don't know. Pointing at the recent NasDaily/Philippine tension as well.
came for the content, stayed for the voice. Lovely diction, pacing and nuances, sounds like a fellow islander. ;) man... i can listen to his voice all night long.
I hope that there's an alternative timeline where this video was posted days after his so our people won't be very gullible to believe this om putih's bs.

As a Malaysian, it's sad to see how hypocritical Malaysians can really get. We complain that our education curriculum is has a pro-Malay bias and that it suppresses critical thinking, and yet here we are, being submissive to the government and kissing their ass. One criticism I would point out is the use of the term "white privilege". I think Other Side of the Truth's display of ignorance isn't a result of him being white, but rather out of a want to appease Malaysians and gain quick fame. Otherwise, keep up the good work. It's so hard to find fellow Malaysians who are rebellious and think critically like you.
Well profit is more interesting rather think critically and rebel from mainstream thinking, but with consequences if ppl actually keep thinking like that forever (just my opinion it may be wrong after all)
I like how informative, straight forward this is. This is toxic ,he being benefited for selling snake oil to Malaysians

Thank you for making videos like this that tackles subjects people are too afraid to talk about. Every Malaysian deep down wants to see this country do better. But I'm so sick of Malaysians attacking those for pointing out seriously concerning news that everyone just turns a blind eye on. It is truly infuriating, that instead of improving upon ourselves all we do is deflect the problem, deny the problem, insult and attack others.

Many are smart and most didnt give a shit but only this guy makes a video calling out these snakes. The ones I cant stand the most are those youtubers from a certain far east country and western reactionery channels that reacts to many things 'Malaysian'.
I just disagree about that al jazeera topic. That reporter nitpicking and and setting out the tone as if the authority and public were uber evil and cruel didnt help either.

Isn’t it just “expat privilege” in general?

thx for this vid to clarify how this guy has been misleading about Malaysia....... he made this for clout and he seems very hypocritical in the video which is very sickening.
I agree in a way, a okey documentary talking about a serious topic released at a shitty time.
I'm not saying that it's wasn't his fault, but the full blame are actually to be on our own Malaysian's netizens overreacting when we get praises from other than Malaysian. while we were taught since childhood exactly how to get rid of praises by anybody for it'll going to made us slipped astray, but sadly that's what we're doing passionately in the open so flattered we seems in their eyes! the females not needed to mention are taking the leads!when will we learn to practice what we believe for the goodness of our own?
same netizen who keep choosing umno as pm 🤣

I always said this about this guy. He is an opportunist to garner views for his videos. Many vloggers who come to Malaysia can get overnight success easily by saying a few words of Bahasa or say how amazing it is here. But the truth is they have no experience living here or understand the country.
Other side of the truth music background do be sound like an epic movie trailer lol
As a Malaysian, I feel so used by this guy.
His video every 5 seconds: *whoosh*
As other youtuber and people already cover this, it's pretty much impossible to expose this truth
