      Brake caliper pins requires allen head 7mm bit in Focus Mk3.5
      Na povoleni cepu je nutny 7mm imbus.

    If you don't have that tool at 4:53, you can use a plain ol' C-clamp and one of the old pads to compress the piston.

    No cleaning/lube on the sliding pins, no lube/cleaning on the area where the pads slide in the bracket, no brake clean on the rotor, no loctite on the bracket screws. And this is why I do my own brakes...

    It’s a great video presumably because you already have done this work on your focus before so you already know all the steps in between. It’s a simplified version of what actually goes into changing your breaks so it was fun to watch. Man i need a compressor....

    This video leaves out a lot of important things: pad-caliper contacts lubrication, anti-seize grease on the hub, silicone grease on the sliders, torquing the bolts...Also, not sure here, but when pushing the calipers in, shouldn't have checked the brake fluid reservoir and remove some excess fluid?

      Don't forget cleaning the new Rotors with brake cleaner. But I see it was just a how to.

    Always good to put a little copper grease on the arms of the brake pads so they are easier to remove later on ;) same with the wheel to wheel hub!

    When pushing the piston back don’t you have to unscrew your brake fluid cap under the bonnet?

      That's what I always have done but now they say to loosen your bleed valve when you compress it so you get the old fluid out of the caliper...

    How lucky he was that brake disc wasn't stuck solid as in my case in particular the rear ones. Having since seen various videos on UA-cam with guys that have had the same issue, it's great to see how they removed them. I think the guy in this video should have greased the contact points. That's what I have done in case I need to remove/ replace if I still have the car.

    Fed up people tightening bolts with an impact driver, especially when I get my tyres changed, and struggle to undo them. Use a f@cking torque wrench!!!

    what about the brake fluid reservoir cap? didnt take it off or top up, only did one side before driving off as well. lol... no pumping of the brake pedal? im no expert but rocket.......

    are the Ford Focus brake pads are the same with MAzda 3 ?

    I had No7 hex bolts holding my caliper on, not 5. Is yours a euro spec or US spec?

    To better access the caliper pin I tried to turn the steering wheel, but I can't turn the steering wheel from inside the car, so I just take the rim off and turn it the rotor, did I damage anything

      Piston has to be wound back in on rears, otherwise pretty much the same.

    Assume this would be the same technique with a 2010 focus ST/XR5....watched a vid of a mk1 focus...pad/rotor technique and design looked identical to this vid. Where can I find the "special tool" lol

      In the course of changing brake discs and pads there is no need to exhaust the brake fluid because the system stays hermetically sealed.

      The video seemed to miss some important things. Like copper grease to stop squeaks. Also cleaning the new brake discs to remove oil applied for transit and storage of the discs. Also checking or possibly removal of brake fluid to prevent overflow when pushing piston back into calipers. Squeak maybe trapped rust or just because not lubed correctly.

    Errrrr what about pumping the brakes after changing the pads, don't just drive off after changing them, you'll have no resistance therefore NO BRAKES!
