These videos are very helpful, easy to follow and wonderfully produced. Hope you continue to make them. However, I must note that the omission of cleaning and lubricating the sliding bolts is a big hole in the otherwise excellent video. I would have also noted that the size of the hex bit can be a 5mm or 7mm. Mine takes a 7. Thank you and best regards.

I thought the bolt/pins and the back of the pads (where they touch the caliper and piston only) should be lubricated with high-temperature brake grease.
Thank you for the feedback! You are absolutely right, however to save time some stages of the repairs might have been excluded on video. Best regards, Autodoc.
Not exactly the best thing to do if people are using this to make repairs to their own cars. There may be an important step that new people need to know about.
@@punchy001 so you should put cooper grease spray or what? Are you talking about lubricating the bolts also? Trying to change mine discs and pads so i wanna be sure to not miss the steps

Its the same procedure for a Mk4 Focus, but you need to start the engine and put your foot on the brakes at the same time releasing the electric hand brake. I know because i changed my rear pads yesterday. Quick and simple. Dont forget to put a light smear of grease on the locking rods!
Thank you for your fedback! To remove the caliper, hex 5 was used. Be sure to subscribe to our channel in order to see more useful videos coming out soon. Best regards, Autodoc!
FYI. The rear caliper of a 2013 for focus cannot be compressed with a compression tool. It must be screwed in with a special tool that fits two depressions in the piston.
On my 2013 Focus mk3 I changed them 3 years ago without seeing tutorials before (how hard can it be, right?) and didn't even notice the 2 holes. I disconnected the handbrake cable and removed the spring (I thought that was necessary), then used my screwdriver to make a lever between the old brake pad and caliper support. It compressed easy without a problem just like the front ones. Then cleaned and replaced pads, reconnected the spring and cable from handbrake, pressed the brake pedal a few times to close the gap to the disk and ready to go. No problems with anything, including passed brake tests and done over 60.000 km. I am thinking about changing them again and saw this tutorial. Imagine my jaw drop seeing this special tool and reading your comment. Perhaps if you don't remove the handbrake mechanism it's harder to push?
It is a special tool for pushing the brake piston into the caliper. This one can be found in the car shops of special tools and pullers. Best regards, Autodoc.
Yeah, found it. Going for a good 300 bux though....ended up using needle nose pliers to go into the guiding holes and a whole lot of down force pressure. Worked in the end :D

Why, no application of grease to stop the brakes squeal, also no mention of brake fluid
Thank you for oyur comment! In new videos, we will definitely add this information to our viewers.
