    This is literally the best video for doing this for this car. Hands down THE best, look no further.

    My mechanic wanted a small fortune to do the front brakes. I'm not mechanically inclined, and wouldn't normally tackle this job, but this video made it so easy even I was able to get it done in a couple of hours. And it only cost me about a hundred bucks for the parts. Thank you so much! Fantastic video.

    I appreciate the description of the tools used. Too many people just assume we know what we need.

    Just finished my fronts following this video! They started grinding last week so I found this video, ordered the parts and knocked it out. That Allen socket makes a world of difference. I tried with a regular Allen wrench and got it off but man that sucked. Otherwise it was exactly as smooth as the video makes it look.

    Excellent Video. I have an up coming brake job on my Niece's Focus. This makes it simple. Complete with tool sizes & torque specs. Much appreciated.

    Nice DIY two crucial info for thoose who tackle this job.
    Unscrew the cap of brake fluid when pistons are pushed back oil goes back, to avoid pressure in lines, also put some towels around it if too much oil inside it might spill over.
    After installing your brake rotors with new pads pomp your brake pedal inside the car, when pedal becomes hard pistons in good position.
    Good luck.

    Best practice to use new gloves while installing new pads and rotors. Well explained 🎉

    For anyone who may be searching I believe he is using the Quinn 1/2 torque wrench from harbor freight in the US. Color matches, as does the screen area and if you watch real close you can see the edges of the Q on the head when he is putting the wheel back on. For tighter areas he may be using the 3/8 version but the shaft seems to long for that to me.

    Very good demo, thank you I'm doing my girlfriends breaks tomorrow. I learned alot on that one, wasn't quite sure where to Greece, now I know. And the 7mm allen bolt needed to know that to. I think I got to go pick up one.
    Thank you again,
    James

    the 7mm Allen screws on the one Im working on are being a nightmare...already broke a 7mm allen socket...it stripped itself out of the soket it was in...not sure why they did this instead of a normal bolt.

    can you use copper slip on the slider pins? And also instead of anti seize paint?

    If I'm doing ALL 4 wheels should I remove the reservoir cap?

    If your wheel is corroded onto the rotor and WILL NOT come off after you take the lugs off -
    A 2x4 that was just wider than the tire across the back on the bottom, held by one person and smacked with a 5 lb BFH from behind did the trick 😊👍

    100 foot pounds on the lug nut. I thought your sapose to get a breaker bar with the added cheater extention and stand on it, and do the one subtle jump on the end of the cheeter bar. Lol
    Very nice job now Im going out to do my own break job. Thank you.

    Excellent video, good pace, nice expression and thorough cleaning and lubrication that I would have missed without watching that. I always remove the cap of the brake fluid before compressing the pistons, is that not necessary, is the reservoir the other side of the servo or something?

  • @jcismysavior9126
    @jcismysavior9126 6 місяців тому

    Do you have to open the master cylinder before you compress the caliper

    • @TRQ
      @TRQ  Рік тому +2

      +Stay Puft The brakes do not need to be bled unless the brake fluid has been exposed to air or has air bubbles in the system.

    He says 21ft pounds for caliper bolts and 129ft pounds for the bracket. I found a website stating for a 2016 Ford focus caliper bolts 30ft pounds and 75 for bracket. Just saying if your watching this for a 2016
