    I think it is not fair for people to knock the playtesters on saying each "generation" got better. It is not always as black and white as it seems. A lot of past Head brand players I talked to disliked the graphene touch generation. I used the previous and graphene touch Extreme. I liked them both. No issues for me. My first Prestige I ever used was the Graphene Touch Mid. People blasted how it went away from "classic" Head feel. I enjoyed the Mid and saw no problems with it. It really comes down to subjective feelings anyways, so I think the playtesters are awesome and deserve more understanding with thier comparisons. Great video!

    Troy, thanks for responding to questions… much appreciated… I’m a senior 4.0 player ( SW forehand; One handed backhand) … I have been transitioning from the PS 1st gen 18x20 for the past two years… have tried just about everything out there. Rackets that will stay in my bag: Prince TT Warrior, PS 18x20, Prince twistpower 100x…I am testing the Blade V8 16x19 and I will test the 2022 Speed MP… I will commit to one of those two racquets… Question: what do you think the PT’s consensus would be if each of you had to pick either the Blade V8 16 x19 or the 2022 Speed MP ( both stock form) for a tournament… Which would it be… Ciao, John

      Based on our playtest team's feedback, and the fact that two of the testers (Andrew and Sage) have switched to it, and Chris switching to the Pro version, I'm going to say that the majority vote goes to the Speed MP 2022. I would likely be one of the few to pick the Blade 98 16x19 v8, mostly becuase I have used the Blade for quite a few years in the past, and I prefer that slight bit more control, and feel, whereas the Speed MP 2022 has a bit easier access to power, but still a very nice feel and good control, just not quite as much as the Blade 98. Jason also loves the Speed MP 2022, like right up there with his preferred racquet. So there are different perspectives amongst the playtest team but the majority in this case goes with the Speed MP. I’m currently using an aero pro drive gt. I got it for Christmas in 2010, so I’m assuming it’s the 2010 model. I used it for one tennis season in school, used it once a week for another 8 months or so, then quit. It hibernated until last June, and I’ve been using it twice a week since then. My questions are
    1) do I need a new racket? I love it still, but not sure if anything happens to it if you let it rest over time.
    2) what racket would you say is similar to this? I wouldn’t mind it being a little heavier, may actually be a positive.
    Thanks!

      🤣 Yikes! I had a doubles partner go up to serve a big first serve and she snapped down and the racquet released and it snapped in half. I think she was swinging so big and so hard it even pulled her shoulder a bit! Haha luckily, I've never had that one happen to me.

      I'm hitting the racquet bone stock. I've been using it for a lot of string testing so have hit a bunch of different strings in it. I really like Lynx Tour, Hyper G and Razor Code White all at 48 lbs and in 16g. For a softer feel I've enjoyed Lynx Touch and Luxilon ALU Power Vibe, both of which work well with the dense string pattern. Cheers, Chris, TW

    I’m torn between the speed mp and radical mp - I’m an all court 50 yr old strong 4.0 player trying to get back to 4.5, and I feel like the speed mp gives more easy power but the radical mp has more touch / feel and might be more appropriate for someone trying to get back to 4.5. Also some arm issues, so maybe the speed is better for that due to the lower flex? Thx for your help!

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому +1

      Both are really nice options, and I think you may have to choose based on which one feels best to you, or gives you the most confidence in playing your game style effectively. You are correct in that the Speed MP provides a bit easier power, also a slightly larger sweet-spot and a bit easier spin. The Radical MP provides a bit more touch, feel, and precision. The Speed MP is a bit better when it comes to comfort. I would say that Radical MP is a good choice especially as you improve your game a bit, but that's not to say that the Speed MP won't be, as there are quite a few pro players using the Speed frame, although they may add some weight to help with stability and plow through. I am wondering how the speed pro compares to the gravity pro. I play the most with the gravity pro. It fits with me very well except .... to be goldielocks .. I would be looking for a more manuverable and a bit lower swingweight but still easy on my arm. Is that kinda what the speed pro is? Also ... seems like the gravity line is the forgotten line?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому

      @Andrew Haug,
      Great question, we've been getting asked that one a bunch too! This is my personal opinion but the Speed Pro has a bit more easy power for me -- the beam is a tiny bit thicker, the racquet swings a bit faster and while the stiffness rating on both are similar, I feel like the Speed Pro feels a bit more "solid" (I would say stiffer as well but not in an uncomfortable way but more of a "doesn't feel noodle-y way" if that makes sense). I felt a bit limited with the Gravity Pro and maybe I should revisit it because they are very similar in spec. I would assume Troy would prefer the Gravity Pro in this case as he tends to like racquets that feel a bit more flexible (he's grinding it out on the demo court at BNP Paribas Open right now, so maybe he can revisit this question when he gets back).
      Hope that helps!

    How would you gauge the Pro’s manouverability? E.g the Gravity tour and Pro suffered in this regard quite a bit. Would you say it is speedy for a 100 inch head size? Is that aspect something that stod out good or bad? And do the Pro and the MP differ much in this regard? Thanks

      I tried the pro and mp, and although the pro felt great from the baseline with lots of plow through, it definitely felt less maneuverable than the mp and somewhat cumbersome in comparison - if I was 20 years younger I might have like the pro better, but the mp feels great

    Troy and Chris, please help me choose between Ezone 98 and speed pro and TF 40 18*20
    currently using blade v8 16*19

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +1

      The EZONE is the odd one out here. It's a fair bit more power oriented than your Blade. If you are looking to add power to your game then it's the obvious shoice. The Speed Pro and TF40 18x20 are both easy to switch between as the launch angles and control are relatively similar. The Speed Pro has a plusher feel which I like, but both a great options. I'd maybe add the VCORE 98 in there as a closer third option instead of the EZONE. While the VCORE offers a higher launch angle, it still has lots of control and a plush feel like the Speed Pro. In a nutshell: For control with a crisp feel go with the TF40. For control with a plush feel go Speed Pro. For power go EZONE 98. For the most forgiving feel go VCORE 98. Hope that helps. Cheers, Chris.

      @@tenniswarehouse Love the explanation in your response. Thanks a lot. I recently tried a speed pro 360+ which had a static weight of 349gms strung and i felt it was quite heavy for me to swing and backhand felt more sluggish. Are speed pro that far off from blade or was it just this particular model?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  Рік тому +1

      Sounds like that Speed Pro was weighted up. It usually is a around 310 grams unstrung or about 326 grams maybe close to 330 if on the high end of spec, and/or heavy string. I think a Speed Pro in stock form will play much easily for you, compared to the 349 gram version you tried. I am a big fan of the TF40 as well, a little more crisp and precise compared to the Speed Pro, but the Speed Pro like Chris mentioned is a bit more plush, and also forgiving with the 100 headsize. • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 роки тому

      @@eujhin24789, it is hard to say, as that will likely come down to the player on how much they might notice that. I think in general by lowering tension you can make the string-bed feel softer, and make the racquet feel more forgiving. But you also have to balance the control factor in there, which could be different for each player. For me, with a full bed of poly, I am usually somewhere between about 42-47 pounds, depending on the string, gauge, and racquet (string pattern, stiffness, and power level), all of which play a role in determining a player's preferred tension. Maybe I’m wrong, but this seems like another Head paid for ad disguised as a natural podcast. The TW testers usually prefer Solinco strings. Here they love all the Head Speed racquets and coincidentally seem to like all the Head strings now. It’s all Head, head head. I know TW is in the business of selling racquets, but I look to TW for expert advice on racquets, not paid for opinions. I hope I’m wrong.

      Definitely not an "ad" and everything said here was done so in an authentic way, Head had no idea we were recording this podcast and we will be doing more deep dives on playtests (and have done many in the past with every racquet brand) - thinking the Prince Tours might get some love next! Also, if you remember, Lynx Tour was very well reviewed and is in the top 3 of most playtester's fav string picks...when testing racquets who also make strings, we do like to try and stay in brand when possible, so it was an obvious choice since we often fight over the extra sets of Lynx Tour. But, don't take our word for it, demo the frames and see what you think :) Appreciate the feedback!
