Nukes and SPACE! The grand conclusion to my first ever complete Civ 1 game. If you want to buy any old game and support the channel, use this GOG referral link: af.gog.com/?as=1715648857 Thank you!
so Civ 2 next?
@@wulf_ace I do plan to yes, I want to play through all the main Civ games before 7 releases, but taking my time as we don't have a release window yet.
You build power plants without knowing what electricity is? That's not weird. It's called "The Adeptus Mechanicus method".
"Delhi and Bangaloe, huh?"

Ahhh, GamerZakh, the one and only channel where we extensively learn about the difference between caduceus and asclepius in every video! ☺
Well people keep using it wrong!
@@GamerZakh True and valid! I love pet peeves. Let me tell you about mine: People keep using "begs the question" wrong, i.e. when they mean "raises the question"
@@tdcsguyAs a Phil major, I feel that
I never cared to play such games but here I am, watched the (almost) entire playthrough. Why is it so damn enjoyable to watch you play? :)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
2:48:30 Not only did you not discover the Internet, but you didn't even settle in the new world.
Oh, we played it on school computers in the former Soviet Union, as a reward, allowed by teachers. It was glorious. Of course, it was pirated, non-pirated games in 90s in our region were unheard of.
I once had a nuclear missile lose to a phalanx. However, regardless of the result of the battle, at the end of the battle the nuclear missile explodes so only SDI actually (sort of) prevents disaster. Even then, because the city pulls all workers from the fields, you can still starve a city or destroy the city units even if they have SDI.
Can't have civ 1 without ghandi bringing out the nukes lmao
Congrats on beating this relic of a game ^^ I don't think Internet was on the tech tree of CivNet either, but that was the core feature of that game, that you could play Civilization.. online! Magical~! :D
Thanks! Feels good to actually know what a Civ 1 game feels like.
It's all about the early game. You spread your cities like a goddamn locust, get to the wheel, get chariots and just expand, expand and expand until you can't go any further. Then you just let your cities grow and out-everything the opposition.
Congrats on your victory, it’s never too late to win in a game despite it being from the last century 😂
Haha a bit late but got there eventually.
This ending 😂 looks like "concept art victory"
My spaceship got nuked lol
Artillery and bombers ignores city walls by the way. Enjoyed the playthrough. Civ1 is vintage and still very much enjoyable to this day
Civilization has the fastest game speed of all Civ games. In no other Civ game can you conquer as quickly as in this one.
Civ1 is amazingly playable today.
I believe the Superconductor image is meant to represent no power loss across the circuit due to the use of the Superconductive material. Both gauges show full power across the distance of the circuit whereas power loss does occur due to distance, I think.
That makes sense to me haha
I used to p[lay this on my old Amiga 1200 plugged into a TV because I didn't even have a monitor lmao, the text was so hard and sometimes impossible to read and I had no idea what I was doing most of the time. One of the best games ever! Absolutely rolling at the "Spicy fairies" lmao, basically the whole game was spicy fairies to me for a few years xD
The populations seem low, because the city population grows exponentially with each step. Your cities are small and too close to each other.
You could have just removed some conquered enemy cities by buying settlers from them. Before buying the last settler, change the home city of the earlier once or settle them somewhere else.
Not sure about this, might be just my fever dreams, but in some Civ game, might have been this one, you could settle a settler in a city, increasing the pop.
Watching this is both enjoyable and triggering at the same time!
Of course you can populate cities with Settlers, but just up to 10. But you can't remove a city by producing a Settler. Once you get a city down to 1, the game will refuse to build it. It was possible in the earlier versions of the game, but the devs patched it later.
@@mykolapliashechnykov8701 Zakh removed a city in this very campaign by building a settler there at 1 pop.
Might be some unofficial patch shenanigans, or a memory error on your part. I tried it on the browser version, and removing cities by building settlers is a thing there too.
At the same time I have a vague memory of camping a city and attacking it whenever it had a defender, and capturing it only at 1 pop to kill it.
It's been so long that I can't trust any of my memories!
Hey Zakh. I must tell you that I really enjoy watching you. Normally I can't stand many UA-camrs, but you are an exception. Consider yourself praised by a german ;)
Thank you! That's really kind of you to say.
Use settlers to clean up the pollution as it happens. Build more railways to increase your production around cities.
Yeah but there's no automate settlers in Civ 1 right? I didn't want to micro that when I was already winning.
If there is no pollution visible in the city view, the city does not pollute (increasing pop might change this), so stacking pollution removal in a city that doesn't need it is not efficient. You could build settlers to remove the ground pollution instead.
The pollution on the tiles left uncleaned is what is causing the planet to heat. You can see the ball next to the science bulb on the main UI cycling from darker reds towards white, and after that if things aren't cleaned up the planet warms.
You can reverse the warming during the cycle by removing the pollution on the ground. The tile changes due to warming are irreversible.
you need numbers to fight cities with units almost advanced as yours
Yeah even if their units are 1 or 2 levels behind they still hold strong when fortified.
this was fun, thank you!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Well Hermes was not only God of commerce he was also a psychopomp \ guide of the dead, Americans have the symbol of the God of Death on their stuff, which might not be a bad idea honestly. Hoenstly there is really something to be said about the art and simplicity of civ1, its still after all these years very entertaining.
Nuclear Gandhi has joined the chat... 😏
"I become Death, destroyer of worlds."

you must play alpha centauri.
I've always wanted to get into it.
@@GamerZakh awesome. Why not make a video about it?
@@pascalwust6075 Generally it's because I gotta make videos that'll pay rent haha, so right now I'm focusing on the list videos.
even civ 1 final video is broken in 2023 - cursed year for game dev industry ))
Wait the video is broken?
Do you gonna play red read redemption 1 remastered?
I don't have current plans to play that. I've never actually played RDR before.
I can't understand the gameplay in the map, that was so outdated 😅
It is very confusing for a long time haha, takes practice just to understand what you're looking at.
