I'm a factory maintenance mechanic and found a hydropnuematic pump primarily made of aluminum that has cork rubber seals. I didn't know why the seals are made of cork rubber but you explained it very well. I just wanna say thanks for putting this information out there. I learned something new today.
I am trying to figure out what kind of gasket/padding is used in a strut/shock of a washing machine. It is just some sort of pad about 1/8" thick, 1/2" wide by 1 1/2" long on the front load washer's shock and the top load suspension it is just a rod, cylinderical shape is all. It sure doesn't look like a cork/rubber thing although I feel that it would work. The whole purpose of it is to provide friction instead of sealing or seating two materials together.
I’ve been told cork rubber gaskets are still Better to use on my old Chevy c10. I’ve got a modern rubber gasket on it now and it’s leaking. Thinking of going back to the old cork rubber

I love this. Does it help any in keeping heat from transferring across itself(cork gasket)
Thank you for video sharing! We are a professional company mainly producing rubber and plastic products for 13 years.
Should I coat the cork/rubber gasket on my transmission pan with anything before installation? Thinking of ATF, assembly lube, or silicone grease.
There are specific things to use
But RTV gray or black can be used and no cork gasket at all. Just like you would on the rear differential cover
Thank you❤

Well said. You could ring-out a bolt, trying to tighten it if you don't know the recommended torque. This product makes that less likely.
Should use sealant with cork gasket?
Thanks--very interesting.
The black dot on this video made me think I had dead pixels on my phone 🤣🤣🤣
Which last longer for oil pan for cars? Cork/rubber gasket or RTV only? Can anyone answer this, please?
30 years or rubber has worked great for me. I only use RTV in an emergency bandaid or when you just can't get the part.

If it's a stamped steel cover you need the cork
Those rubber gaskets are awesome but they're for the nicer aluminum valve covers
