his SP1 dont seem like a dp but depending on how much block pushback it has it might still be worth making him use it just so renji cant build meter to remove the bankai debuff forcing him to ether delay use of bankai or go ham and not have a way to deal with the debuff. you may or may not have to use SP2 to remove the debuff, it dont say if it has a time limit or not.
I’m assuming there’s some kind of time limit on the debuff. Maybe even it just lasts until you use your bankai again, who knows? But I think you’re right about it being timed
Getting in close during his Bankai or waiting out the timer is gonna be Key to beating him, I think. And then, depending on the gauge needed for the SP2, it will be a matter of making sure he doesn't get the chance to use his Bankai a second time.
Absolutely!! The fact that he recovers health when activating his bankai makes me think him getting it multiple times in a game is a sure fire way to lose when playing against Renji
Nah, uryu, byakuya, and kenpachi are gonna eat him. Hell be great against tosen and rukia. But anyone w elite speed or range attacks will be able to counter him.
So, he looks like a regular Dhalsim. It looks busted, sure. But like… if you just calm down while fighting it it won’t be that bad. Yeah, he has a move that blows you back to his full range, but just block it. His sweep looks like the same HP style poke that Dhalsim has. These characters always look scarier than they really are. Just keep a level head and keep pushing in to corner and punish. You’ll surprise yourself.
He has a move that increases the rate his attacks destroy guard gauge AND he has a healing factor. For all we know you can only guard 1 string before your guard meter breaks and you stuck. Dhalsim is a good start but I think it only describes 1/3 of what makes Renji scary
@@leethewarlord yeah. But that move is a buff. I doubt the buff lasts forever, and I doubt Renji’s combos are that long when he does guard break you. It’s just to help set him back up to go back to the mid range
@owlflame not really about the length of the combos, there’s characters we have that break guard gauge in 1 attack. Even if the buff lasts for 1 combo, if that 1 combo breaks your guard you’re screwed. Plus he still has that healing factor and insane range in his bankai
@@leethewarlord Yeah. But you're thinking of guard break attacks. Think about it like this. Kenpachi has a move called "there's nothing I can't cut." That move will break guards. It requires you to charge it first (hold down the button (like a heavy attack in Sparking Zero)). And that's on a character who I'd expect to break guards all over the place. On top of that, the website says that Soul Vow allows moves to function at their normal performance if we're post bankai. Where as the other armor break moves all have the same stipulation or, at most, only seam to shave a bit more off the guard gauge. We saw in the tournament that the guard gauge can stand up to a pretty good number of hits. Slightly below average compared to something like Jump Force or something. I'm not trying to say Renji will be bad. I'm just trying to explain that it's easy to see a character like this and think "broken top tier" but I think they're doing a good job balancing him. I highly doubt that buff is going to make 1 combo break guard. My guess is it'll be 1 or 2 less strings than usually needed to do so.
@owlflame that’s understandable, I just think the description of “just another Dahlsim” isn’t doing his kit enough justice from what I’ve seen in the trailer
Tbh I’m assuming the “weakening” feature is going to be commonplace for all giant bankai’s 🤔 Also I’ve been a Renji main since Shattered Blade, and that’s never changing! 🐒🐍🔥
@@leethewarlord I can only really think of Mayuri, Komamura and Yami. Maybe a second Tosen if they include his Bug Mode🤔 Yeah dude, renji’s always been really fun! That and Hihio Zabimaru has broken in Bleach games since the beginning haha
@@itsluigitime5632 even without a second tosen that would be 4 giants and if the roster is around 40 characters, 10% giants seems fair. Even sparking Zero only has a handful of giants in it and that roster is HUGE Can’t wait to see how busted his bankai is this time around lmao

Depending on how broken his Bandai is I can see him either being a very high tier or low tier
Yeah he’ll definitely be either top or bottom of the totem pole. No in-between

It’s genuinely gonna be impossible to lose if renji goes Bankai, his animation in Bankai looks nice
Yeah that fighting distance he has with his bankai looks INSANE!!

@ Good point! I started playing Sparking Zero today and thought the same thing! That and how great the abundance of Vegeta’s is 🤣🤣
Hes gonna be mid tier.
His bankai will do well against people like rukia and tosen, but against byakuya, uryu, or anyone w real speed or distance.
Can definitely see that!!
Renji being low tier is canon
Just like his bankai making him lose🤣🤣🤣
