The attacks actually happened on 26th November 2008 so it is called 26/11. More than 165 peoplewere were killed and thousands wounded. Many brave soldiers and policemen sacrificed their lives to protect Mumbai. I remember I was a child who did not even know what was happening but we all were scared after watching the horrors on TV and the shameless Indian Media broadcasted every move of the security forces which was an advantage to the terrorists. RIP to the brave Policemen, Commandos and the citizens killed.

well I could suggest you a few good places to eat which are NOT expensive. Please try and have breakfast atleast once at Pancham Puriwala. this guy is famous for his delicious Puri Bhaji and is located near the Fort area. very close to Colaba. any cab guy will take you there. Ask for Udipi restaurants anywhere. the brand Kamath is also Udipi style restaurant with much cheaper and good food. ofcourse there are a lot of fine dining restaurants in that area as Colaba, and in general downtown Mumbai is prime real estate area. the real estate prices here are almost at par with NYC and Manhattan Prices and im not exaggerating !! so things are going to be a bit expensive. but still there are some nice ones. Id highly suggest you taste Parsi food in one of the oldest Irani restaurant near fort area called Britania and Co. eat the berry pulao and definitely drink Raspberry soda. Eat a Thali food at Chetna restaurant which is very close to the CSMT station where you got off the train. these are far cheaper options of food but good food nevertheless. you can expect to spend around Rs. 800-1200 for all four of you for a proper meal. @ 3:51 that is the Stock exchange bldg. the Mumbai high court is nearby, there is an entire street called Bank street where there are head offices of almost every bank in India, there is a Municipal building Life insurance building and the biggest Post office building, and 2 major railway line offices the Central railway and the Western Railway office a Naval base office with staying quarters, all within the vicinity of 5 kms. ofcourse there is a lot of working class people to be seen here during the weekdays.
