    Thank you for your professionalism, I like your way of painting, but can I kindly call you how to set the gun, the pressure and the amount of paint. Thank you

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  4 дні тому

      Your pressure really depends on your gun, mine called for 36 psi. If I need to get into a tight spot zi turn it down and when I'm out in the open I'm at 36 to 40 psi. The fan pattern is the same turn down your fan size if you need to get into a tight spot .Another tip is the smaller your fan is the more you turn down your pressure. I keep a piece of masking paper taped on the wall to spray on to set it up. As for fluid, this is my preference and with out the airline hooked up and no paint in the gun, I pull the trigger all the way in then turn in your fluid knob til it makes contact to your trigger and it starts to move then stop. I think it's more of a comfort thing for most people.

      Usually 15 minutes or what ever the product calls for. For the most time after I get my gun cleaned and put up and get me a pepsi its usually ready. Its best to wait a little longer than to jump in while the solvents are still kicking off. Thanks for watching!!!!

    Great job and explanation!
    What is the temperature range of the DCX61 hardner?
    I am waiting for the temperature to be around 70 to 75 to spray a VW van project using PPG 2021 clear with the DCX8 medium hardener.
    I’m new to this and hope it doesn’t dry too fast for my slow speed.

    Or I was thinking because the paint code to my car is W A1 30 X pull me over red and I was trying to paint the hood only because of the chips and scratches it has on it The original paint job actually has a little bit of an orange look to it may be because of the sun UV rays for the past nine years. I was thinking maybe I could just put just a little tiny bit of orange in with that W a 130 X pull me over red and mix it up real good and maybe I’ll get just a little tiny bit of an orange tint to it. I always take the gun completely apart when I do clean it to make sure that its fully clean. As for the time between coats its usually 15 minutes but your can should tell you. Why do you put reducer in the clear

  • @Danno74Z
    @Danno74Z Рік тому +2

    Hello, I really like that homemade booth. I have some generic questions. How much time/days due you allow the paint to fully cure before you flip the panels over to paint the other sides? You mentioned the hood is getting a flat black color on the underside and the trunk lid is getting the Roman Red. I assume the other sides of those panels are still in primer/sealer? On the trunk lid why put clear on now when you still have to put base on the other side? I would think you would want to get all the base on at one time then clear everything once you feel it safe to flip over. Thanks Dan

    • @ACDesignsGarage
      @ACDesignsGarage  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for the question, yes its still primed on the otherside. Its easier to paint a half at a time due to how heavy it is. You could hang it up and do both sides at one time but you run the risk of runs when clearing. I like to find a hard line to tape to the you can paint one side the tape to the hardline and paint the other side. Everyone does it differently. As for time setting, I like to wait at least 3 days to a week just to be sure. We will also lay some thick quilts down on the stand to set it on to be safe before we paint.

Sometimes ill shoot 3 coats of clear let it set a couple of days then come back wetsand with 600 then add a couple more coats then shes slick. NO disrespect. but when I put that much reducer in clear it does not last. That car probably wont be in the sun very much so it should be fine. but Reducing clear even if you put more coats on there takes something out of it that makes it fail much sooner.
