Easily the best turbo paint demonstration on UA-cam. Proof of concept, excellent tutorial with DIYers in mind.
I have been on the fence about doing this with my project, or dropping money on compressors, air hoses, paint guns and product. It's one car and it can be done.
I appreciate your knowledge sharing, the time you put into this and your willingness to answer questions in the comments.

@@docdildonica7515 You're just being pedantic. The instruction on how to paint was in the totality of the video.
Did you need him to teach you how to hold the can? Place your index finger on the spray nozzle? How to move your arm back and forth?
The act of painting was thoroughly covered in this video series using a spray can. If you're unable to discern that, you should not be attempting to paint anything.

I’ve always dreamed of having a shop one day but my gravel driveway is probably as good as it’ll ever get. I’m 54 years old. I’m a decent mechanic. I do all my own and satisfy myself lol. I never been a paint and body guy though. I been trying to learn a little. I put floor pans in my 74 f100 last year and fixed a few other rust holes in the doors and body. I welded in metal , I didn’t put bondo over the rust holes. Lol

This is what I did, maybe you can look into it.
I too have a gravel driveway, what I did was-
Got 1 inch thick, horse stall mats. They’re about 8 ft by 4 ft.
I put those on my gravel spot.
I bought 8x4 ground contact 1/2 inch plywood, covered the entire thing making a 10x20 pad.
Then because I like being extra safe I bought 3/4 inch ground contact pressure treated plywood, screws that onto the 1/2 inch which is screwed to the mats.
      Then I got me a 10x20 carport for $200.
I used pallet wood to make the work bench and put my Iroc z28 I’m building in there, it’s a lot better then crawling on gravel lol
(My car can fit in there completely. But with my engine lift, engine stand, tool box. It sticks out 2 feet. Which I don’t mind. But I wired up LED lights in there, which run off $60 solar panels I bought on Amazon. Then I have a 4 outlet adapter that’s connected to an extension cord for my welder, angle grinder etc

Many many moons ago, as a young 16year old getting into buying and selling cars, every-time i needed a paint job on an old motor, i would just mix up some unused paint from storage and either hand paint or roll-on-paint. Followed by sanding and polishing like you did and it always looked 95% or better afterwards. Spay cans came later when the profits built up.

Great work, and you have some awesome skills there my friend.. You def gave me the confidence to shoot my 2002 GMC that I repaired cab corners and one wheel well that I repaired with patch panels.. Since I had worked on both sides of the truck, I just sanded the shit out of the whole truck getting it pretty good and flat for a novice.. Then used the same Rustoleum turbo and 2k clear.. Came out great.. only I found its a ton of work and takes some real skill to properly do the cut and buff.. I decided to take it to my local detailer buddy who has done the ceramic coating and detailing for my cars for years.. He cut and buffed the whole truck in 2 days for $750 bucks.. He said the stuff was great to work with, asked me who painted the truck, I told him it was a turbo spray can and he didn't believe me.. Showed him your videos and he was dumbfounded.. My 2002 GMC looks like a brand new truck now.. My white job was def easier than the black but man I have you to thank for the help and assistance for sure.. Saved me several thousand bucks..!!

Unreal! I'm in a current project with rusted out wheel wells, (and other spots). After the repairs are done, I was wondering about this whole process over old paint, and new repair, blending, AND it's all outside, (blah, blah, blah...)! This made my decision much easier to move forward with, (the indecision of), "should I just spray paint the repair, then blend by cut & polish the rest...or wet sand the whole panel, then primer, paint, clear coat" so yeah, lets do the panel...I felt the whole CLEAR COAT, after the polishing, is really impressive! Thanks!

Thank you, yeah it's tough. You can do it faster with a DA sander then block by hand the last little bit ,then use the rupes da polisher. I was trying to keep it simple for the beginner. But your right this is the hard way lol.

With typical sanding 15-20 minutes is the point where you should change sandpaper for efficiency as it has already become less than 50% as effective as it originally was and a new sheet will be. Obviously this is going to vary depending on many factors but is something to be considered when you're waiting for your sandpaper grit to wear completely out, it may take 45 minutes, but you did half the work or more in the first 15.

If I were to do a whole car I start sanding with the 2000 grit, do the whole car ,then move to the 2500 grit check the whole car then start the m105 finish that then move to the m205. I do the whole car with every process so I don't miss a part of the car. I plan on doing a whole car pretty soon!
