For anybody wanting to learn the Elvish language, I would recommend learning the Welsh language first. The Elvish language is heavily based on the Welsh language. If you learn Welsh, you will have a bit of a head start if Duolingo decide to do an Elvish course.

As for whether it was on the incubator page or not: it was. I remember seeing Sindarin there as I keep up with all new courses. I even thought about applying to help but because I don't speak Sindarin fluently I eventually decided against it. Somewhere in the last years it was deleted from the incubator page. I thought maybe the volunteers who were creating the course had given up, but I don't know for sure.
Yesssss my Preciousssess... What have they done so far? I will visit the app as I'm a customer of Duolingo but what do you know from your side of the pond?
Dude. The talking over yourself thing makes me not able to understand what the hell you are saying. Having a thick accent doesn't help either. I don't expect any change, because honestly I'm just one guy with a hearing problem and you don't know me. I'm just informing you, I guess.
Hi! So I’m trying to learn the language currently through your channel and what ever else I can find in books and Websites; I would love to help out with making this course. It can’t be THAT hard, right?? Also Esperanto is pretty great I must say
That's amazing, thanks! Hopefully we could get the course on the Incubator page, then you'll be able to contribute however you like 😉 Esperanto is definitely the best example of a constructed language being taught on Duolingo, I like it too (although I haven't really done much)
I think it should be taken up by someone to develop the language further so it can be learnt, but I accept it's a complicated territory because some will see that as heresy against Tolkien I'd love to speak some form of elvish
Yes, that's a big part of it, maybe some day more Tolkien's Elvish writings will surface and we'll be able to learn more about the original language he envisioned and then build upon that
I doubt we will see Elvish on Duolingo anytime soon. Here on UA-cam, I will however present some videos about Quenya, the most highly-developed form of Tolkienian Elvish. The introductory episode is entirely IN Quenya, with subtitles: ua-cam.com/video/ClhMTBoDtJQ/v-deo.html

Can’t anyone be granted like some sort of access to officially develop on the base language with the rules Tolkien started with and expand on it? And then, with a more structured Language it can be more teachable? Just some of my thoughts…
Sindarin is more widely spoken since it's the language of the wood elves. They are the main group of elves in Middle Earth. Quenya is the language of the high elves, and most of them also speak Sindarin.😊
You have a very clear, understandable voice. I really appreciate that when people make videos, because it makes the video so much easier to understand and enjoy. Keep it up! 👍

I haven’t tried it ._.

That's actually a good idea in terms of pronunciation, too. Just to get the vibe, you know.
Yo I just started doing this, and I totally agree, the pronunciation is so similar
Damn, that would be so cool if Duolingo actually add Sindarin...maybe after the new series they'll change their mind and add it.
Yeah, maybe it will get Elvish back on trending (look at Google Trends for example) ;)
Yeeeeeaaaassss they should definitely try to add it on dualingo
Let's try then!
@GreenJordan 30 uhh.... why not both?
@@Itstwofourteen omg I was thinking about that commercial earlier! 😅
I would be on Duolingo every single second if they had Elvish!!!!!
I get it, but... I wouldn't really recommend it ;) Maybe every other second? ^^
If enough people ask for an elvish course on duolingo I am sure we would get it
Uhhhhhhhh Artreii WE NEED THIS U NEED DUOLINGO TO ALLOW U TO HAVE ELVISH ITS A MUST :>
I hope they will make the course one day, one day... ;)
