i love david gilmour's playing style best, he makes every note sing, he gives every note enough time for it to express itself and then he comes with the bend and it's just a work of art
My grandpa couldn’t fall asleep since he lives in the retirement home. My sister gave him „On an Island“ and he fell asleep immediately. It works everytime. He is so thankful. Even some of the other old folks there love it…
Everyday I perceive more that such a diamond was Ric Wright! The space he creates in PF kind of music is absolutely perfect. I adore him. Rest in peace quiet man ...
I love Richard Wright's playing - it perfectly illustrates what he was to Dave and Pink Floyd. He's not a ghost that gets lost or glue - but skeleton. Thus allowing the music to hang on to him and frees up David. I'm glad they left us a marvelous catalog to enjoy. But what a pity there's to be no. R.I.P. Richard Wright
Though we haven't ever seen it much, i'm quite sure he played some on those albums over the years, for texture here and there. Can't beat the sound of a Fender and Gibson together!
Can you imagine, Rick died 19 months later...... A great loss for music :-(( Roger was the genius, David the raw talent but Rick was the bedrock of the band !!! RIP my friend, I miss you very much....
I always wondered if David Gilmour is a pure ear and feel player or if he consciously follows the chord changes and targets chord tones. This here convinced me that he definitely is following the chords closely in his soloing approach. The whole section from 1:50-2:20 in particular is a beautiful example of following the chords and choice of chord tones. The man knows his chords!
Yes Rick Wright's, performance was awesome!!!!! and so was Gilmore's!!! it was an awesome Jam session. most of the time awesome music is produced from , Jam sessions like this!!!
David looks , and probably is more chilled out, happier, and in his “element” here than in all the years he was with Pink Floyd. Same for Rick - maybe even more so - love it🥰🎸🎹
That was the other Les Paul Dave has without the bigsby trem system ;) He has two basically identical guitars, although the one used here is a '56 Goldtop and the other a '55 I believe.
Dave sounds just as good with P-90s as he does with a Strat. I never saw a Strat outfitted with P-90s though Steve Morse’s old mutt Tele had a P-90 in its mix & it sounded great.
I've been always wanting to buy a Gibson, but having been doubting my appetite as my hero Gilmour 99% of the time plays his strat. Here I go!!!! Confirmed, and Gibson store watch out for my money!!! :-) Thansk for this video. you perhaps changed my life lol
So he's not playing a Strat. Gilmour could make great sound out of a cigar box and a few pieces of string. It's great that we get to hear him and the others express their musical ideas.
James Daniels Actually, the "Another Brick (Pt. 2)" solo was on a Goldtop like this one, only no Bigsby. Everyone assumes it's a Strat, but he's playing through P-90s. He plays lots of different guitars. The Tele on "Run Like Hell," of course, and in his early days. He plays a black Gretsch Duo Jet on some later era solo stuff and with McCartney. He had at least a couple Steinbergers too; I know he played one with Kate Bush on an awesome live version of "Running Up the Hill." Supposedly he used one on "Sorrow" as well. I couldn't even list all the acoustic stuff too, but maybe he has a cigar box guitar.
I thought that too, but apparently not. They're both vintage though. The original one was from '55 and the Bigsby one was from '56. You can read a bit about them on Gilmourish dot com.
A few of Dave's great tones are p90s. On the original '55 - "Poles Apart", "Great Day for Freedom", "Brick 2" and a whole bunch of the stuff on the live Wall shows. And from his solo career, on the '56 with bigsby - the first solo on "On An Island", "Pocketful of Stones", "This Heaven" and "5am"
Not to diss this at all, because I love it (wish it was released separately) but in places it sounds like Camel and that is no bad thing. I like David playing the Gibson. Great sound.
He is my hero and my idol other other44 guys love respect and cherish for the rest of my life I love you brother Ivan I always forever ever as long as I live to me Ivan miss

Nice, Hope your grandpa is doing well and thanks for sharing the Gilmour experience.
On an Island is an awesome album, one of my all time favorites, glad it helped your grandpa!

Rick's keys were the very soul of the Floyd
And to think that this is a jam. It's better than many bands entire recorded output. David and Richard - joined at the soul.
I would pay good money just to watch them jam live. Rick is a brilliant keys player. May he rest peacefully.
There are many guitar players totally shredding the guitar but Dave's one note is worth more than shredders whole life
David is the master of emotion and string tension
Richard was the master of colors. R.I.P Dear Richard Wright

This is the music that is played while you're awaiting entrance into Heaven.
This is one of those few times you see David playing a Les Paul.
And it's quite the specimen then to!
Though we haven't ever seen it much, i'm quite sure he played some on those albums over the years, for texture here and there. Can't beat the sound of a Fender and Gibson together!
@@BubbaZen10 the solo in Another Brick in the Wall was the Les Paul with p90's - probably this one.
@@zoeherriot Very cool to know! I love the sound of P-90s.
... and isn't it glorious!
Richard at his best as usual, pure class, rip to the greatest keyboard player ever
Hammond organ is simply sublime. Definitely one of my favourite keyboards!
Wonderful music 🎶🎵🎼✝️☮️🥁🎹✌️👏🩷🌎🐝🎸🍯💋
Can you imagine, Rick died 19 months later...... A great loss for music :-(( Roger was the genius, David the raw talent but Rick was the bedrock of the band !!! RIP my friend, I miss you very much....
Waters was nothing without Wright and Gilmour.
Calm and collected, as always. And yes, what a player!
Nice sound and good music on the same style , thank you Mr Gilmour
Awesome!!! 🔥💯❤️✌🏼Gilmour is the ROCK/GUIlTAR GOD! Brings it always. 💯 Th keyboard was awesome as well. The whole crew rocked me! ✌🏼
Brilliant jam.such soul each and eveyone of those musicians.
So beautiful to the band. Working and listening to each other. Fantastic
Gilmour is great here, and Richard Wright, so often overlooked, is just sublime - what a class act he was.
Che spettacolo meraviglioso questo pezzo the great zio David🤩
*@HDPinkFlod...🔊Parabéns pelo maravilhoso vídeo Ameeeii Obrigada! Bjssss!😘♥️👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻*
Pink Floyd!
david gilmour IS ART
Love the tone of the old "soap bar" P90, one of my favs.
How awesome would it be to live next door to David Gilmour? You don't dare call the cops for a noise compliant when Gilmour and the band is jamming.
Those chords progressions, sooo Richard Wright. RIP

God Dave is so good at playing blues lead . Wow!

Love those P90s growling away.....awesome when Gilmour plays a Lester now and again.
David looks , and probably is more chilled out, happier, and in his “element” here than in all the years he was with Pink Floyd. Same for Rick - maybe even more so - love it🥰🎸🎹
buen día buena vida buenos Humos , eternos Blues ..
Coś pięknego te organy Hammonda super 💯❤️
This is some of the best Pink Floyd that I've ever heard. This made them superstars.
Gilmour é simplesmente um músico brilhante,Excepcional!
un éxtasis escuchar a david.
Splendid! Greetings from Mexico City! Saludos gratos!
David..!
Without David the band would have collapsed because he stepped in with his voice and guitar playing that is perfected.
This makes me want to get a gold top with P90s and a bigsby tailpiece. Oh, and talent. maybe next Xmas.
that's the guitar that was recorded for "another brick in the wall" solo
That was the other Les Paul Dave has without the bigsby trem system ;) He has two basically identical guitars, although the one used here is a '56 Goldtop and the other a '55 I believe.
Jody Lowe I highly suggest a Gibson n225 , it’s a sleeper and is Amazing. Can be had used for about a grand used
This is freaking beautiful!
David Gilmour é simplesmente maravilhoso, o melhor guitarrista do mundo. Rosa Maria
opvs.c.l.r Asi mismo , el mejor
R.i.p. Rick! Your solos killed it!
Absolutely brilliant, beautiful...
O CARA É ÓTIMO EM TODOS OS RITIMOS,ETERNO ,IMORTAL!!
Nobody has mastered the grace at which he can bend those strings.
who thing was beautiful. and Gilmour sounds amazing behind that Gibson.
Rick Wright with the Atom heart mother beats!! ❤️❤️❤️
Instantly recognisable, pure pure class.
It's great when Dave shows the Les Paul some love.
Very beautiful!
Beautiful Song.
Dave sounds just as good with P-90s as he does with a Strat.
I never saw a Strat outfitted with P-90s though Steve Morse’s old mutt Tele had a P-90 in its mix & it sounded great.
Just beautiful
świetna sesja :)
Almost sounds like a "Shine On" outtake, of sorts. I love this stuff.
I hear a little bit of "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" in some of this.
very very cool to see and hear this !!!!
The interactions between Rick and David are among the best in music.
David Gilmour Forever ❤😂🎉
Rick died much too young. Too soon. A mere year after this. He was just 65. He needed to live around and jam with David for the next 25 years!
Shine on guys.🎶
I've been always wanting to buy a Gibson, but having been doubting my appetite as my hero Gilmour 99% of the time plays his strat. Here I go!!!! Confirmed, and Gibson store watch out for my money!!! :-) Thansk for this video. you perhaps changed my life lol
padmarley youre a dumbass
What a guitarist
Rick was pure class
Love Richard. R.I.P. Great player.
I like it... Thanx for sharing!
So cool, you don’t see Dave playing a Les Paul very often & it’s nice to see Richard Wriight jamming here, he was a great player!
Such beautiful and deep playing by Wright. RIP
GREAT PERFORMANCE...
Beautiful!!
nothing like a real good Jam

Isn't it actually this original LesPaul but with the bigsby kit added on it?
I thought that too, but apparently not. They're both vintage though. The original one was from '55 and the Bigsby one was from '56. You can read a bit about them on Gilmourish dot com.
Thanks for clearing that up mate!

All the trappings of a solid session

Dogs and Gilmour. Two of my favorite things.
sweet blues.......perfect!
Oh this is good!
Holy shit, the dog at the beginning.
Woke my tired ass right up.
Wesslyn lol
Gilmour is all what i want
living Legend!!
I love the chord sets in that first improvisation. Was that an actual David Gilmour song or was that purely just off the top? Impressive either way
