    The shadiest thing DoorDash does is hide tips! It hurts the best paying customers and it’s like playing game with us dashers, but why? 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @helenhighwater2254
      @helenhighwater2254 3 місяці тому +7

      It isn't the fault of Doordash. It happens when the customer calls the order into the restaurant, or they order on the restaurant app or website. The restaurant does not include the tip and they keep it themselves. Doordash has no knowledge of whether a tip was included by the customer or not, because the restaurant is the one that must send the tip along with the request for a driver. Most restaurant apps and websites will redirect their customers to the Doordash platform to complete the order, but some smaller restaurants, especially those where you call in the order, they simply place a request for a driver from Doordash and keep the tip because the customers payment is processed by the restaurant, and not Doordash. The restaurant simply pays for the delivery, they keep the tip and that's that.

      @@mrbeattiesford no! I will never accept every order. I don’t care about “top dasher” ect. I’ve dashed in 12 different states been doing it for 4 years and I’ve never just took all orders lol. I also know for a fact the whole higher acceptance rate for better paying orders is garbage because I’ve sat next to dashers who had way higher and way lower rates but yet we were all getting the same orders. It’s just a program to get low paying orders picked up in my opinion

      It's so they don't have to pay out a large amount of the order is canceled and the Dasher gets half pay. It's also so dashers will accept borderline orders in the hopes that there's a bigger tip.

    When I get a catering order, if the pay isn’t really large in the beginning, I don’t even even bother with it. I’ve already been burned by these low pay catering orders that never go up once the delivery is completed. If the order doesn’t show a large amount in the beginning, don’t bother with it.

    It's easy to know. I didn't see much change here in Tacoma, WA. Except for most cathering orders are coming with extremely laughable pay. The plus sign still show up on some of them. But the risk of driving too far and long wait for non less pay catering orders is very high. Because those costumers are taking advantage of the change.

    $4 on 1.4 miles I took Just because I was going that direction. Saw that the store did the ordering for the doordash and for some reason they left the original order ticket on showing a $75 tip that I got $0 for. There's some real dirty ways some of these stores do this stuff. Sometimes it makes me wonder if some of these $3 orders that I'm denying might actually be better than they seem, but they just feel like we're kissing frogs hoping it turns into a prince.

      You should have let the customer see the receipt and let them know you didn't receive the tip. The customer would have certainly called the restaurant and dealt with them. How long does someone have to wait on the order to be completed before possibly getting a contract violation as I was told by DD support today for waiting too long for the catering order to be done which would put me being really late delivering the order?
    I know we have a bit of time past pick up by time but when the order should have been picked up by 11:09 and I didn’t get the order till 11:12. I waited 25 + minutes with the restaurant saying every few minutes that it will be done in a few minutes. Customer calling me and the restaurant upset it was taking so long. DD support basically said I will get a contract violation for lateness that I would have to dispute or I could unassign penalty free so I took that option. I definitely don’t want to go through that again. Thankfully I got a high paying non catering order at a restaurant across the road within seconds of after I unassigned that order.

    I've been in the catering program since last June. It was amazing. Then the Boston area was hit with the Tiers program in early December. December was normal since a ton were under the 70% acceptance rate. Once January hit the switch was flipped and most of not all of the catering orders disappeared. It's been well over a month since I've seen a decent one. Way too many are in the program now . I don't even see the bad ones going from Burlington to Boston. The + orders seem to be disappearing as well like you said. A few of the regular catering customers in my area had massive layoffs so I get that shinks the pool but this program is nowhere close to what it was 2 months ago.

    I recently had a catering order that was like a few bucks. It was across town and the wait wasn’t long luckily but the restaurant mentioned something about the tip and to bring the receipt back if it came to that. I delivered and there was no tip upon completion. I texted customer if they wanted to leave a tip after the order if they ordered on the app but they didn’t respond. I was upset but this wasn’t the first time it’s happened. Years ago, there was a restaurant that kept taking my tips bc some customers tipped afterwards and I had to bring the receipt back and the restaurant would say “we will get it to you somehow…”
    It was horrible and inconsistent.

    I've found that in my area, if the offer pays less than $1 per mile, that's all you're going to get, no matter the number of items or how expensive the restaurant. I noticed the lack of a olus sign on catering offers this week. I thought it was just me, so thanks for validating that. I've also noticed that the better the dollar to mile ratio, the more you will receive upon delivery of the order. $6.00 for 0.7 miles is almost 10 times the $1 to 1 mile ratio. That would net approximately $55 to $60 by my calculations. One night this week I had 3 catering offers and all of them paid face value, but all were within $1.50 or less per mile. I received no extra pay for any of the 3 offers. But the one offering $15 for 7.3 miles paid out $27. on Sunday night. Almost $2 a mile, and the payout was almost 2 times the initial offer. I'll be testing my method this week.

    Doordash has made horrible changes. I've been dashing for 5 years, this year I was averaging about $160 a day but they changed to the tier system and now I make about $20 a day which cannot sustain me so I have to quit dashing. I was a good Dasher, I dashed with integrity and I wanted the customer to have a good experience. Lately I'm reading a lot of comments about dashers intentionally messing with people's food on no tip orders. It seems to be going on quite a bit and I think that's what's going to kill doordash in the end. Doordash cannot expect dashers to continue to deliver their food for little or no pay it's just not going to work. It has gotten so slow in my area and I'm in a major city. I get like 1 dash an hour. I have a 100 percent completion rate and an AR of 85 percent. I can't live off of $20 a day. I'm telling you doordash is going to go the way of the dinosaur.

    Also, I don’t think this will hurt the company at all. Yeah it might cause delays in orders but that customer won’t look into it and realize that their tip is being hidden from the dasher. And being that a lot of them are actual catering orders, they’re probably willing to wait longer
    Last but not least, Americans (can’t speak for the world) don’t know how to vote with their money. These are the same type of people who STILL buy the new NBA2K game after complaining about how it’s been the same for the past 5 years.

    Seems no matter what, cherry pickers with low AR and Top dashers will make pretty much the same unless theres no orders or to many dashers. Things are fine the way they are in my opinion, because if it paid more, then more want to do it hence the over saturation and deactivations. In hind sight if everyone was top tier or top dasher there would be no ''rewards'' . You are not going to have 10,000 catering orders in a metro area in one night. Seems the cherry pickers are like wolves waitng patiently and dont have the hourly w2 mind set, its just wait for that money, and you got the top dashers that arent patient and want the money now, so take everything. In the end, I think both types are vital to keep the platform running for the longivity stand point. To calculate all the 5-8pm part timers and those 12hr a day cherry pickers. Id think the only difference between the 2 are the mileage they accumlate in the end.

    • @2tenaquatics

      I agree. I also find my 2022 Camry gets really great fuel mileage when my tank has just been filled. It stays on that F indicator forever. But as soon as I get close to using up a 1/4 of the tank my fuel gage starts to drop much faster. So I just fill up right after using up a quarter tank before the meter starts dropping. Usually about 15 bucks to get back to the Full. But I stay on full for a lot more miles allowing me to do that cherry picking and moving around. Im not worried about miles because its new with only 16.5k on it. I am more worried about wear and tear so I am not racing around, and avoid pot holes and speed bumps where I can.

    In my experience I’ve noticed if the catering order is not 2-1 (Money/miles) it displays full payout.
    If it shows $8.00 even it’s probably base pay and the merchant withheld the tip.

    On that Pizza order you waited an hour for the acceptance screenshot showed $6 but on the payout screenshot on the bottom it said "payout was more than the $7 shown at acceptance". Why? There was $1 peak pay also which means at the acceptance, assuming you know the hidden tip indicator is $4 and you were aware of the peak pay, you wouldn't take that order regardless of the catering program indicator because you'd know it's not going higher than $6 right? What's going on here? Why is there a discrepancy? You weren't shown $7 at acceptance. You were shown $6. ??? Even if that peak pay started at 11:30am it doesn't make sense for DD to retroactively add it to an order you accepted at 11:11am. ???

    I have been doing doordash for 4 years now 15000 plus deliveries. I have been in the catering program for 3 years, used to get three or more catering orders every single day. I saw your video. As you mentioned things have changed.
    As you mentioned, catering order doesn't come with a plus sign now. But the strange thing is I haven't got any of them since 1 month!!
    I also receive emails from doordash that I have been prioritized for shop and deliver many times but I still was a top priority dasher of my area. These days most of the time I get Walmart pickups and shopping orders. Hardly even any food orders
    Do you think should I opt out of shop and pay has mentioned in their email? If it helps any, just wondering why I doesn't get catering orders. I even contacted support two or three times. They say I'm already have the best priority for catering orders but still I don't see any. So confused😢

    Hi
    My name is Alex. Generally, I’d like to know if you can recommend a few deliveries apps where allow me to work and sign up with an LLC and using EIN number? Registering or sign up with an LLC /, I’m just simply wondering if are there other ways I can work in the GIG industry using my own LLC.
    I would be really appreciate and I’m hoping to see if you could shed some light or have thought on mind or name a few of them.
    Thank you.

    me personally i’m a dasher i love doing it /money is money specially today’s economy in the crapper /u shouldn’t be greedy so id definitely take that order go deliver -drop off /setup and go get more orders sorry but i wouldn’t be complaint over money that’s shows how shallow/ greedy you are of only always wanting the highest payout which is mega nice to have to but all the time like cmon/ if i’m waiting for food i always talk to the customer through text or call to tell them what’s going on -they love that so they tell whomever what’s going on don’t worry it’s coming etc

    Correct me if I am wrong but legally they have to show the total payout of the order not an indicator it may be higher.. They are contractually supposed to show us the base pay plus the full amount of the tips that the customer can increase after the fact.. but they aren't supposed to hide any part of the tips at all.. So that indicator is technically illegal operations right? Not only that but they aren't supposed to be allowed to prioritize drivers over others based off their AR, They have punishing drivers by not giving them access to the higher paying orders like that because of the AR. From my research the AR is the only thing they legally can't punish you for but yet they find ways of doing that. Forcing us to take orders we don't wan't to take and send out 90% orders that are only base pay with high millage. Honestly doordash is screwing us and making up new shit every day not to pay us the way they are supposed to.. I am seriously looking into attorneys to try to get this shit changed because the way they treat the dashers is absurd I know we are not employees but we still have rights for fair pay and treatment as contractors. Transparency in our pay is supposed to be 100% not a guessing game.

    Yea, I just do not understand at all the practice of hiding, masking and manipulating the payout total. It just doesn't make sense at all. Why not just be transparent and show the full amount. Also tired of them giving less doordash pay for very far miles, just because the customer tip is good. I never take chances on any order, unless the order looks right when I 1st see it, and I never over commit to any order that would take too long unless it's paying 30+, because I'm multi apping and need to be available to take the best order available at the time or multiple orders simultaneously, sometimes I'm delivering 3,4,5 even 6 orders at one time and still manage to get them all reasonably on time.

  • @tdig6546
    @tdig6546 3 місяці тому

    I think this change just shows us more of the direction door dash is going into. Making dashers homogenized and randomized. If the new brainwashed people get used to taking all orders to keep the numbers up, then all the drivers with high numbers have a more equal chance of getting the catering. I know top dashers that only dash by time who make $25 an order regularly but since they are on time, they are letting those orders sit in the car while dropping off all the other apps first and dropping the door dash order on the final minute ( sometimes an hour). Unlike me, I'm trying to do at least 3 an hour whether I'm by time or by order.

    Most of the doom Im hearing on this vlog, I think may relate to the protest possibly hurting the organization making some customers look elsewhere to order or to get the food themselves. Since valentines day I was doing well and now its been a tug of war with orders with DD. Those that deliver and use the app to have things delivered to there home may have noticed lots of promos in there emails about discounts on using the doordash delivery services. This tells me they are fighting to keep the stocks up to please the investors lol. Also seeing ton of new dashers taking 2 dollar orders. But this video seems as if it was created to motivate thousands of dashers to be the ''top dasher'' to get to that Large Order Program lol. I predict the CEO will make 500 million this yr if not more!!!!
