- One of the most important teachings I learned from my late teacher and muse Layne Redmond is stepping, drumming and vocalizing patterns.
It's a signature experience that is integrated in all her workshops and intensives.
It's central to keeping everyone together in synchronized rhythm.
Our feet become our metronome.
It's a wonderful whole body experience that keeps you entrained to the walking pulse of your feet
if alone or with others in a group.
Join along with your feet stepping right to left.
Sing the pattern with me in call and response manner.
Feel how grounding it is to walk, drum and sing.
This brings a unified experience in group and keeps your pulse steady.
Each pattern has it's own way that it feels.

@@lauraarteyterapiaintegrati9717 I don’t think it comes naturally for a lot of people. Helps to have a good teacher! Takes much coordination between hands and feet and voice. Even Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers couldn’t play his congas and sing at the same time in concert! Miranda can certainly take you there!

@@lauraarteyterapiaintegrati9717 ah, she actually said that only 1% of drummers can walk, drum and vocalize. Meaning not all drummers even try it.
