    I'm so glad I get to watch from the beginning this time! I'm excited. I've avoided the maps with such a low building percentage because it worried me that I'd have to cram people in on my PS4. I'll watch every episode.

      Do you have the bridges and piers content creator pack? Did you try the 2 lane stone bridge over a 4-6 lane avenue? I just want to know if it works on console.

      I’ve tried on console too, so far so good. I don’t have the bridges dlc but it still works fine with the regular roads

    I think that a good “vanilla friendly” interchange for in the future (assuming the necessary roads are vanilla compatible) would be as follows:
    First, where you intend to put the interchange you make sure the highway roads are separated enough to be able to fit a bidirectional two lane road between them with one space separating the road from the highway.
    Second, split the road crossing over the highway into separate one way bridges of at least two lanes per bridge.
    Third, connect bidirectional two lane roads from the “highway median” up to the outside edge of each bridge.
    Fourth, attach the other end of the two lane roads of the previous step to each side of the highway with one lane one way ramps.
    Fifth, put little roundabouts at each end of the bridge.
    This should allow for relatively free flowing traffic on and off the highway using the roundabouts for left hand turns in a space about the same as a standard diamond interchange.

      i did the same once just with 1 full tile ..turns out pretty great with a way more organic layout due to some seperate playgounds etc. overall in town - ngl the income was epic coz everyone is in a park :D

    I liked the design so much that i made a live stream about starting a new city in Spanish and copied the bridge feature and the general outlook of the city. (I am not used to playing without move it so i messed up the rings lol)
    But a few points:
    Water border has a naturally higher land value you are not taking advantage of.
    School and general services distribution and availability make building to level up faster another missed opportunity in your video.
    Otherwise great content!

    Hey there, I loved this setup so much, I've gone and made it in the asset editor and uploaded it to the Workshop and Nexus...
    Credited you with the idea and added links to this video. I hope you don't mind ;)
    I sent you a friend invite on Steam so I can add you as co-creator in the workshop...
    To find it, just look for "Traffic Eliminator" in either the Workshop or the Nexus.
    I added some personal touches:
    - Used the 4 lane European bridge from the CCP instead of the 2 lane
    (To improve traffic flow)
    - Used basic pedestrian paths instead of the Park paths from the DLC
    - Used a 4 lane one-way to exit (to improve traffic flow but kept a 2 lane one-way to enter (same reasoning)
    - Set up TMPE and IMT on the "roundabouts"
    (TMPE and IMT are optional, but you won't have the lines and TMPE changes)

    Great build! But please read up on the “15min city” (urban planning concept) and make a vid about it :) The idea is that you build workplace (industry), residential and leisure/commercial areas close by each other so that all is walkable within a 15min radius, and no cars are needed for the daily life. The pollution area surrounding industrial zones are not that big, its possible to build e.g offices and commercial quite close to it. Your industry is very remote, requires car commute and is in a prime location close to the sea, which should probably be used for public space, residential or commercial. In general pedestrian connectivity could be improved. Aaanyway, happy to finally see builds again from the best yt city builder channel out there ✌🏼😉

      Traffic flow was around 90%. Population is too low to be concerned about traffic.

    Have you used the Realistic Population Mod? You need to zone a LOT of residential areas to increase population. But it fixes high density housing. Its challenging to me. But i still consider myself a noob.

      I am using visual mods to reduce shadows and remove the in game fog. I have a few other in game mods but nothing game changing that can't be done on console. For example, I have Historical Districts, with 1 button, you can make every zoned building historical within the district rather than making each individual building historical. So on console, you'll need to individually make every building historical.

      @@Captain_Ahvious Shouldn't it be so that if you're driving on the right side of the road you turn right to enter a roundabout and right to exit? So it would be counter clockwise for lhd and clockwise for rhd. unless I'm just getting the directions wrong or something.

      Unfortunately, I am not a civil engineer. I basically just plan around the mechanics of the game to primarily make certain that it functions properly, then I find ways to design around it.

    Well when I was playing City skylines my people had no problem during the beginning rounds of building my small city you can start doing 13% tax now because it won't affect it if you're doing the on starting tile 😁 which it works instead of doing 12% taxing

      I am actually using a combination of theme mixer and ultimate eye candy mod. So its difficult to specify how I have my city look the way it is. I'll have to make a video for that in the future.

    Admittedly i only watched the first half of the video.
    But i don’t understand why you placed the fire department in the residential area, since the industrial area has a much higher risk of fire. Also placing the commercial directly on the main road seems contrary to avoiding blocking main roads with delivery vans.

      The fire department is closer to the residential and commercial area because it provides a happiness that will help level up the nearby buildings. Its not necessary to level up the generic industry because it will be replaced by Industries DLC in the future. I understand your logic about the higher risk of fire in the industry area but the fire trucks will still reach the industry area so its not an issue. Low density commercial on main roads will not cause extreme traffic especially in the early game, its the road layout and zone locations that causes traffic.

    Tax at the start can be higher. I use 14% with no problem. They start complaining when they level up. Each time they complain just drop the rate by 1% but only for the ones complaining. If, say, residential complains, there's no need to drop commercial or industry taxes. You'll be surprised how far you can get in the game before you have to drop all taxes to 12%. If you're happy to go without educating citizens while building up your city, they won't level up and you won't need to drop the tax rate and you'll make more cash.
    One situation which will require the tax rate to be dropped is if you use specialised zoning because they are all automatically at the highest level and will start whining instantly.

    If I may offer a suggestion. It would be nice to know 'why' you are doing each step and how each step contributes toward a desired outcome. For the first 15 minutes I hear only what you will do, then you do it, but not 'why' it will contribute to 'eliminating' traffic. 'I will do this or that now', and then you do 'this or that'. Please explain why you are doing something and how it is relevant as you do things. If I am going to forgo 30 mins of my miserable life to watch something I want to know why I am doing it, and how I will benefit.

      For the most part, I do explain my actions and its benefits which helps other players improve their gameplay, but there will be times when I miss to explain a few things because I'm excited to go to the next step. The comments sections is the perfect place to ask a question for anything that isn't clear so I may respond in the comments and perhaps in the next episode.

      Just imagine that the other buildings are different departments like Math and Science buildings, so I'm creating a lower grade campus. I'm just thinking outside the box, don't worry too much about the concentrated happiness value in that 1 area.

    I’m actually liking the plot of your city design. However, I noticed every-time you are using skywalks, you intend on using parking gates thereby generating “park income”. Isn’t that kind of cheating? I mean it aint a crime but it’s definitely triggering me😂😂😂
    Nevertheless, love the series. Nung una kita napakinggan, alam ko na pilipino ka 😂. It’s nice to know na mai CS content creator na pinoy.
