I watched Farscape for the first time this year so seeing them in star gate before Farscape makes it better than the other way around as it might be weird
Claudia IS certainly attractive - ND about THAT, but more so - She is a FANTASTIC actress. I think a lot of guys (&Girls) "fall in love" with the "character" more than they do the actual person - & that happens MORE when the actor does such a GR8 job of portraying the character. It's weird, but it happens. I guess usually that's often the only way we get to see them, esp when in an ongoing way, over yrs - that's my guess why! It's like when you feel like you KNOW the CHARACTER, in a weird way - you feel like you KNOW the ACTOR Too (esp if you have a CRUSH). THEN you stop & remember that you do NOT know them in any way - & You'll probably never ever cross paths - & that they'll continue to live their own lives, happily & without ever meeting YOU! I admit I know this from experience. Just a thought! Of COURSE She's a BEAUTIFUL actress - that's the way TV & movies USUALLY do things. Plus, REALLY, she plays that role, SO WELL - & makes it so fun - it's no wonder she is a fan favorite - I don't think ANYONE could have done it better. Hats off to Claudia Black!! No other "addition" to the cast made that show better than she did. A gorgeous GOOD girl (sexy accent), who sometimes does "BAD" things - AND be FUNNY about it!? What more could ya ask for? She changed that show by adding something it desperately needed (some laughter & FUN) - THAT'S 4Sure!!
A "plain woman" can become a "stunning woman" if she smiles, plays, and expresses personality. Claudia Black is a fine example. Attractive and desirable not because she's gorgeous but because she's spunky. On the other hand, a "stunning woman" can appear quite ugly if she has a nasty, negative, or arrogant temperament. Men might want to get her but then they'll want to get rid of her.
Claudia Black makes any show better but I will never understand how this lasted longer than Farscape. Yes, I know lack of viewership but it speaks to the taste of America.
@@atlantis29260 Not with Claudia Black and Ben Browder in it. I can't judge the show on a whole as I never saw the endless sea of episodes/spinoffs. What I did see though was just average, meh, sci-fi in comparison to the creativity of Farscape. So, to speak to America's taste they are average like the show.
I love that they actually have the least chemistry within the team. When she looses her memory it's Daniel Jackson who brings her back. She actually doesn't trust Mitchell and ties him to the bed LOL.
Wouldn’t a more effective means of handling the situation have been to use the training of SG-1 to effectively prepare the remaining Qetesh followers to fight back in a lasting campaign against the Ori, thus sucking up vital resources to maintaining control of the planet?
Yes but SG1 is all about the morals. If this was Baal, Anubis or Qutesh herself then absolutely. The system lords did this all the time of course but they were megalomaniacal psychopaths who only cared about themselves so that helped.
Not as much as you might think. Remember the Prior Plague. They don't need to let themselves be tied down by resistance, they can just send down an incurable and virulent plague anywhere they deem too much trouble to be worth the effort. Convert or die, with almost none of the heavy lifting that policy usually requires.
3:04 the host goes through the sarcophagus just as much as the Goa'uld. Why wouldn't this affect the host like the Goa'uld? I would imagine this would make the host just as Psychopathic or Sociopathic overtime.
That's actually canon IIRC. Vala wasn't actually a host for very long, and the Goa'uld don't typically use the sarcophagus as frequently as Daniel was in that one episode, it might take decades or centuries for the effects to build up under more reasonable use, and the Goa'uld themselves have their genetic memory to give them a leg up (or down?) on the sanity situation.
It's not exactly clear, as we rarely see the behaviour of a freed long-term host. Apophis' host is mostly just terrified and miserable as he's slowly dying in agony, and while we know the Tok'ra free Ba'al hosts we never see how those hosts act after being freed.
@@HellbirdIV I think they do mention that, past a certain point, removing the goa'uld from their host is functionally killing them, but the Tok'ra consider it to still be a mercy for those cases, so they still like to separate them from their hosts before they die, for at least those last moments of freedom. As Vala shows, they're not the most empathic towards the freed hosts in the best circumstances either.
@@Great_Olaf5 For a people whose ideology is built around freeing humans from slavery and torture, the Tok'ra do let their sense of pragmatism get the better of their morality quite a lot. They will free the host, but after that it's not the Tok'ra's problem anymore. Of course this flaw in the Tok'ra is intentional from the writers, as Stargate doesn't really like making any of its races "pure" good - even the Asgard occasionally get to be dicks.
When these 2 all about me the centre of the plot and storyline took over. Completely destroyed SG1, what her purpose was who can say ? But just killed it off
